I'm a broken record about this but RB's are about 7th to 9th in terms of average salary paid by position in the NFL due to availability of replacement level talent and overall impact. Why are we going against a trend run by much smarter and wealthier football organizations? Don't tell me it's because he's Canadian. Yes Canadians get a premium in terms of salary, but a smart team should still be paying that premium at the impact positions based on the bigger, smarter NFL - Dline; WR's; all star OL; QB's if you have a unicorn Canadian star (hopefully we might). This was a decision to appease the fans who value the local community impact over good cap management. 

Brady signing is a terrible albatross boat anchor of a contract. I hate the $ and length. Putrid. 
On the bright side I am happy to have Brady here and that this almost definitely means Hogan is out.
If the contract is one third marketing money, or the SmS jumps by 30%, I can live with it, so I reserve the right to walk this back if that is the case.
My issue is solely $ and a tiny bit length of contract (if there is guaranteed year 3 $)
As it stands right now tho I don't believe this is a good contract. Love the player, hate the terms.

I sure hope there is a ton of marketing money being used on that contract.

His protection has been getting worse year over year for the last three or so years and Zach been increasingly uncomfortable in the pocket.
Scheme (this year) was definitely a factor but Zach himself has gotten happy feet and he's as much to blame for the shots he takes as the inadequacy of the offensive line or any offensive scheme.

Walters is doing the same thing he has since we became an elite team. He goes looking for underappreciated players that he can get for 'reasonable' price that he hopes will take the next step. When they work out, he's a great GM, when they don't he isn't.

Mitchell on the other hand doesn't have that same documented history.  On it's surface, it seems like something from out of left field which is why people are willing to give him some grace.  That's not excusing or accepting the behaviour, it's simply acknowledging that humans do stupid things at times whether it's from ignorance, inexperience or stress.   It feels very much like a dude who needs help so comparing Mitchell's situation to Kelly's is ******* absurd.

No .. I'm looking at two different situations dispassionately and see one man with a documented history of bullshit and the other doing something completely out of character. 
It's not the same thing.

Mitchell on the other hand doesn't have that same documented history.  On it's surface, it seems like something from out of left field which is why people are willing to give him some grace.  That's not excusing or accepting the behaviour, it's simply acknowledging that humans do stupid things at times whether it's from ignorance, inexperience or stress.   It feels very much like a dude who needs help so comparing Mitchell's situation to Kelly's is ******* absurd.
