  1. And we're done. This is why you all can't have nice things.
  2. Sherman lost his lid on the play. Play is over at that point. Nope, he just can't participate further. He didn't have the ball. Ah .. difference between the CFL and NFL rule then .. It's pretty much the same rule. Play is only dead if the ballcarrier loses his helmet. That's what I'm talking about (and assumed) that the CFL followed the NFLs lead in this case and blows a play dead when a player loses his lid. I misinterpreted your original post. Chalk it up to a Sunday morning lack of caffiene.

  4. Sherman lost his lid on the play. Play is over at that point. About the only thing they could do is award the Bombers the ball .. there would be no ability to advance the ball.
  5. With the lead up that Desjardins had... over a year (?), he should have been able to find some gems - playing Dobson Collins and Marcus Henry as your main guys is just ridiculous. Only good receiver they have is Wallace Miles and Mack/Walters scouted him. Just scanning the scrap heap... Greg Carr, Jamal Miles would be upgrades over that crew 2 CFL drafts, expansion draft .. plus the year .. team would have been much better off with Glenn instead of blowing their wad on Burris.
  6. For all the leagues attempt to ensure Ottawa was able to field a competitive team right out of the gate, it amazes me how truly terrible their roster is. Lacks depth and overall talent across the board. Really shouldn't surprise me though considering Dejardins track record.
  7. Not going to let this devolve into another pissing match. I've pruned some posts and will lock the thread if it continues.
  8. Which is precisely why he's on his what? 4th team? This is yet another example (if you needed one) that talent alone isn't enough. Athletes need to have the instinct and the competitive attitude to be at the top of their games. It's not an issue with instinct .. it's the mental part of his game that lacks .. and he's demonstrated that time and again with every team that he's been a part of ..
  9. Glad to see Sears back in the lineup .. sucks that it has to be in place of Johnson who has been incredibly steady this season ..
  10. We can all debate the quality of the Rider effort this weekend but one thing isn't up for debate .. they found a way to win .. win ugly .. win pretty .. have a win gifted to them .. it boils down to the same thing .. two points in the standings ..
  11. Guys. I'll ask that discussion remain on point. There's *ZERO* need to feed the bickering that's going on here. If there is a poster or viewpoint you don't like - don't respond to it. Better still, if you feel there is an individual who pushes your buttons .. put that person on your foe list .. you don't have to deal with it .. but I do ask that responses to one another are respectful and stay above board. There is no need for petty responses, foul language or mindless bickering.
  12. NANAIMO -- RCMP say Michael "Pinball" Clemons will be getting his Grey Cup ring back after it was taken by a woman at B.C. Place Stadium during the Toronto Argonauts game against the Lions on Friday. The former Argonaut player and current vice-chair of the team reportedly threw one of his four championship rings into the crowd for fans to look at during the game when a woman walked away with it. Constable Gary O'Brien said in a release Saturday night that the 30-year-old Nanaimo woman later returned the ring to RCMP officials, who are making arrangements to return it to Clemons. "She feels absolutely terrible about the situation and told the officer she wants Mr. Clemons to know she had no intention of keeping it and just wanted to do the right thing by turning it in," O'Brien said. The woman told police she was sitting in the front row when Clemons threw the ring into the crowd. She also said she waited for security to retrieve the ring but left after no one approached her. The Argos reached out to fans via Twitter on Saturday morning, asking them to be "on the lookout" for the ring and to contact police with any information.
  13. I'm posting on a tonne of topics. Not trying to cause waves at all. Your presence here is enough to cause waves. It's why the forum has a handy ignore feature ..
  14. + 1. I know we all like to plant a flag in the ground and defend 'our turf' but fans of all stripes are welcome here and good posting guidelines apply to everyone .. be respectful .. be opinionated .. hell .. take shots at one another .. but keep it above board and don't sink into petty bickering .. nobody is going to like it if moderators step in start reigning people in.
  15. Why do you say that? Doege's been there all year. Look at Toronto last year as an example. Collaros leap frogged the second string Harris despite having less time with the offence. If Tino looks as bad as he did against the TiCats why wouldn't they throw Doege in there? They've both been taking first team snaps. It's a confidence thing. You can't yank guys at the first sign of trouble (doubt and second guessing starts to creep in) .. beyond that, players need to learn to play through adversity .. learn to win .. learn how to rally .. that only comes when you are forced to deal with those things.
  16. B It takes time to build up a scouting department. Walters seemed to do okay in the draft as well. But I think the fair question is, how much depth do you expect to build in one offseason? Realisticaly, every GM is going to go through bodies until they get the right guys .. if you look across the league, the teams that are successful have established rosters. We are middle of year one of a massive roster overhaul. We aren't going to have great depth overnight. It's going to take time to build a solid base .. then after that .. begin upgrading talent at the back end of the roster. Again, anyone who thinks this is going to happen in one or two seasons is sorely deluding themselves .. and when you factor in the sheer number of injuries we've had this season, I think it's reasonable to say we are getting a LOT out of the bodies we have in camp right now.
  17. Lulay .. BLM .. Durant .. Reilly in and out of the lineup .. West is having a rough go of it ..
  18. That is why QBs need to slide .. Helluva hit though
  19. Give. Me. A. ****ing. Break. Like this has *ANY* relevance at all .. Average Joe Taxpayer doesn't care one iota if the Bombers are holding 'stealth' practices at IGF .. hell .. if anything I would think the average taxpayer would think something like this: "They damn well BETTER be practicing there for all the money we spent!"
  20. Pall on the lineup, doesnt means the Bombers like it. No other option but to put him there because of recent injuries. Not suggesting anyone likes it .. and I know it's out of necessity .. but the fact we're at that point gives me reason for concern.
  21. Yikes. Pall draws onto the roster with less than a week here under his belt .. And yes .. #FreeJohnnySears
  22. But it gives BC more of a chance than what I'm really comfortable with .. I think they are a team that could give us trouble .. we don't play BC well in BC .. and I thnk Glenn and his quick release might put us in a spot. Maybe that's me tempering my expectations but I don't feel good about this week .. not with the state of our defence.
  23. Apparently Gibson is having passport / paperwork issues as well ... DLINE is looking rough for this week. Out: Fraser, Vega, Cornell. Unknown: Anderson, Moseley. New guys: Pall, Booker.
