Hall's defence really started to come together when he was exempted from having to play any Natl. players in his secondary, that happened the day B.A. replaced Jeft Hecht at Safety.

Haba showing well this early in his career is very helpful. It Jeffcoat is ever good enough to go, that's a good rotation on the ends. Hansen even more so. Lawson spelling off Jake when he comes back will help both of them enormously but I still wish we had someone better than Ricky Walker as our main NT. Would kill for a Nevis/Stove.

As has been said around here many many times, this is exactly it, and it's injuries (and lack of depth) all along the DL that are causing our issues on D.

My 2 cents Halls defence needs pressure and our D-line is not good enough to give what he needs. 
IF we improved the D-line the LB's and DB's would be improved

We're doing a trip to Montreal next weekend and going to the game, so they had better bring their a game. Not going to see them lose.

I actually have a lot of thoughts and WTFs about this game (including not one but several of the Schoen targets) but after I outlined a whole post, I realized that the entire team just inexplicably sucked and it's not worth my time to write out. This wasn't a case of "if these few things were just executed properly it would have been way different". We completely didn't show up and BC completely did. Wow, been ages since we looked like the pre-August '16 Bombers and maybe we all have so much PTSD that it hurts way more to watch that. This is purely a case of flush and move on.

I love Dunnigan too. It’s really just Smith and to a lesser extent Neilson that I can’t stand. 
Too folksy, both of them.
The PBP guy should give a dignified, somewhat serious air. Like Don Wittman, Cuthbert, Mark Lee. 
I was never a fan of the goofier PBP guys like Neilson and John Wells. Gotta have that contrast with the personality of the colour guy. 

They won't review receptions unless challenged or on a scoring play. Unfortunate that the replays didn't come in until after it was too late.
I agree that the OL sucked, but two sacks were a direct result of BO not picking up the blitz. We held him out of practice, and it showed.

Is it possible Coture knows all the OL and D calls?  Could have shared a lot in the film room? 

It’s l not as bad as some (me) make it out to be while watching the games. 
With that, Jefferson is mugged constantly, and I haven’t seen it called in forever. 
2014 when they had that hot start, then lost like 30-3 to Edmonton here.

BC just released former Bomber DE Alex McCallister who looks like a Willie clone, may be worth taking another look if they're not happy with their crop of new DE's.

Over all think the first pre season game was what we needed. 
 I think it’s a great call to get the vets lots of early action and give them most of the second game off so they can be healthy. The biggest obstacles to the bombers being good early are going to be health and rust. Work too much of the rust off and you put health at risk. It’s a tough spot with low contact practice these days. Early weeks of the regular season are gonna be lower quality if they stick to no tackle practice. 
 
If Jeffcoat is healthy Thomas starting as our nose with walker rotating will improve a lot of our pass rush and run stop. Having biggie back will be huge too. 
 Barrington is going to be a pretty big upgrade over Clements though not kyrie atleast yet. 
 Lots of good dbs, some good players are gonna be cut. Wr core is super deep too. Nice to have a new back up ni to bolo. 
richmond looks as good as ever at T for depth. Dobson needs a lot of work at C still with snaps but if Eli gets healthy it isn’t a big issue. 
 And we identified a new short yardage option qb. We even found great depth at kicker and punter.
