If he tries to play he might end up being the top QB in Equatorial Guinea.

SpeedFlex27 got a reaction from HardCoreBlue in Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion ThreadTheir expectations shouldn't be non existent but realistic. Elgersma's chasing a dream that is becoming a shadow. He has a soft landing spot with the Bombers to continue his career. Elgersma has no idea how lucky he is. My son was at the CFL Western Combine in 2015 & standing beside him not 15 feet away was Chris Jones. He never even acknowledged his presence as at that time CFL teams didn't draft Canadian qbs. Never said a word to Tyler.

SpeedFlex27 got a reaction from Booch in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadThere was some kind of weird things going on between Osh & JJ. I don't think they meshed at all. Too bad as I like him as a qb coach/OC.
-
SpeedFlex27 got a reaction from Tracker in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadI disagree, Hogan was brutal. He was in way over his head. Why JJ wasn't the OC is beyond me. Typical Osh decision.

Agreed, but his passport does give him some value, although this will drop his stock a lot. This may also smarten him up enough to consider a Bomber offer.
Things have changed a bit since then, but there used to have little but contempt by American coaches and GMs for Canadian pivots.

Considering they sold out the entire season and hosted the Grey Cup, I'm guessing quite a bit. Interesting to see the total.

Not really. Some cases you get behind an aging out vet, or a weak starter and may have a legit shot at seeing the field. Elgersma is behind a very good QB that he has no legit shot at a QB controversy

SpeedFlex27 reacted to Booch in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadZC with a new OC....good oline again and some legit targets is gonna do one of 2 things...Either have a late in career renaissance like Calvillo had and actually be a legit #1 and possibly another 2..3 really good yrs in him if the situation allows for it....Or he is gonna confirm the last 2 yrs of this spiral into crapsville is real and he is done. And we should do whatever we have to in the season if this is the case to address it and not wait for the off-season and really be hooped...if it means trading assets...Picks...or a legitimate performer so be it, but get it accomplished
If he shows a rebirth and his physical skills look like they are not degraded from previous season, then he could be a resigning on a 1 yr deal for 2027 at a reasonable price as we are hopefully grooming the 2028 guy....Not at the 600k price tag he has been getting...not even 500k...but more in the scope of what BLM has taken and if he doesnt like that deal....See ya later

SpeedFlex27 got a reaction from TBURGESS in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadYou'd take this guy if the price is right in your mind.
-
SpeedFlex27 reacted to Tracker in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadThen, instead of Collaros getting pulped because of a crappy OC and O-line, we would have had Brown getting pulped, but at a cheaper price. Not sure that would have accomplished much.

SpeedFlex27 got a reaction from rebusrankin in The 2026 Grim Reaper ThreadThe young woman I told you guys about at Xmas time who are family friends of ours succumbed to pancreatic cancer three days ago in Nanaimo, BC. She was 36 years old. She was a wife with a 2 year old son who now will grow up never knowing his mother. When Tyler played for the Rifles, they were his billet family for 2 years. Very, very sad.

he was always gonna make the team. Will be interesting to see how much playing time he gets.

SpeedFlex27 got a reaction from Booch in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadYep, we should have been more proactive...

SpeedFlex27 reacted to johnzo in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Threadyeah, Powell didn't look like the second coming of Jeff Garcia or anything ... but in 2023 he went from QB3 to starting half of the games in Hamilton.
He went 4-5 on an 8-10 team and had 10 TDs and 9 picks and massively beat expectations for a QB3 who becomes the emergency starter. I agree with SpeedFlex that he was the best young FA QB in the CFL this offseason and he could've maybe possible been a successor to Zach for us. But now he is in Edmonton and I hope for the sake of the league that we haven't seen his ceiling yet.

SpeedFlex27 got a reaction from rebusrankin in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadThat development can be done on the north side of PAS if you look at the renderings. The residential part looks very close to the stadium. As far as no one caring about noise because they're making money, sure. That's why we see just as many videos of people on social media complaining or in conflict with others in rich residential neighbourhoods as we see in the Hood.
It's too bad that we're in a holding pattern with Taylor Elegersma that we've completly let the backup qb position become something of a wilderness similar to what happened to our DL. Powell would have been the perfect backup to Collaros. Experienced & still young enough to give us 7 or 8 years as a starter. However, we let him get away for some rookie with delusions of grandeur & a fantasy money tree in his living room.

SpeedFlex27 got a reaction from wbbfan in Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion ThreadHope you're right because as soon as that first contract was over after being drafted it seemed that Bomber players just bailed & signed with other teams from or close to their own backyards where they grew up. Which is a problem because the majority of players come from Ontario. Or never came back here after NFL tryouts. Sure, we've had guys sign with the Bombers from Winnipeg/Manitoba. I didn't say that no one ever did.

SpeedFlex27 got a reaction from Piggy 1 in Game 66 This season has been giving me the bluesWe'll get blown out, c'mon. And instead of getting a decent draft pick who might help us right awy, we'll pick a kid (probably an American) who we might see by 2030.

SpeedFlex27 got a reaction from BBlink in Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion ThreadWell, you have a canadian who may shake loose from the NFL with 3 or 4 years experiences vs a guy who may want to do what Manu did & go to the NFL. If Manu becomes available what a prize catch he'd be. In his late 20's with 8-10 years left to play. I'd keep Manu.
