We will always have the REAL Canadian Air Force, Rory Dough Alert and Jay Detain.

But really, reading that the "Balm hers move twitch main forage hearse down" helped no one.

I think Jay Detain has more career receptions than both Jade Etienne and Addison Richards and would be a welcome addition to our beleaguered depth at Canadian WR.

Can't say I've ever noticed the noise levels so I'm going to go ahead and say no, it's not an issue.

I agree with the idea of getting Nichols or Harris (I'd get them all to do it, but I have an imaginary budget of infinity hours and dollars) doing up a clip for the jumbotron telling fans to SHHHH on offense.

Most of the kinks of the stadium were cleared up last year though ... either that, or I'm way less of an entitled dbag because I don't remember being annoyed at all last year by the poor spelling of the closed captioning or by the lack of full screen replays on the jumbotron.

One suggestion I would make though ... the TVs in the concourse should be playing the live feed. If you want to inundate me with people taking selfies and hashtagging them on the jumbotron, that's fine. But I'm at a football game and if there's action going on, it'd be nice to know that if I'm in the concourse taking a leak or grabbing some food, I'm not going to have to see only every second or third TV showing game action.

I, for one, found the closed captioning edit from Rory Kohlert to Rory Dough Alert added some much needed levity while watching Calgary destroy us back in 2015.

With so many defensive tackles out there, I'll be surprised if we don't grab one. Probably american at this point.

Cash, Nevis, Johnson, Cummings, Brooks ... who am I forgetting? I wouldn't mind ANY of those guys

Would love to see either of Brooks or Nevis here. Westerman - XX - Nevis/Brooks - Okpalaugo would be real swell.

The criticsm of O'Shea about repeatedly saddling a dead horse (Willy) was, IMO, totally justified. I obviously don't know all the facts, but it sure as heck looked like finally starting Nichols was either a deathbed repentance or Walters holding a gun to O'Shea's head. Before the Big Switch, pretty much everyone on this forum and God knows how many other fans knew that Willy was broken beyond repair, but O'Shea kept throwing Willy out there.

I can see it both ways TBH. Willy was coming off a serious injury and MOS wanted to give him every opportunity to shake it off and get right and when it became apparent to him (maybe it was already apparent to others not as close to the situation) that Nichols was the best option the rest of the way he made the switch.

Personally, I wanted him to make the switch earlier but my guess is that once he made the change at QB he wasn't going back unless Nichols really **** the bed so he wanted to make damn sure that Willy was broken beyond repair before sitting him down. You can call it loyalty or stubbornness if you want but I do think there was some rhyme to his reasoning.

MOS can be loyal to a fault but I think that the switches he made this year are showing that as he grows into his role as head coach he has to start making decisions that benefit the entire team and not worry about his personal relationships with each player.

Same role, different city.  Except that city is home.

Edit:  That was the short answer.  The longer answer is Walters doesn't have to.  Either the idea is already in Coombs' head and he goes to free agency or it isn't and he re-signs in Toronto before free agency.  Walters has to decide if we want Coombs if he goes to free agency.  Lochard didn't suck when he filled in, his performance was well beyond what I expected.

Coombs also would have a first hand look at what Andre Durie's role was and that is what he should try to emulate. Durie was never a staring RB but he was versatile enough that you could play him anywhere. He would be a great fit behind Harris and could morph into that hybrid RB/SB like Durie,

Knowing how loyal MOS is to his favorites do you think he'd let someone take Nichols' job away from him after Nichols saved MOS's job this year. I'm thinking Mike is cheering loud and long for Nichols as this this team's starting QB and Nichols will play every down in 2017 barring injury. Even if Franklin did find his way onto this team he'd get as many snaps as Glenn and Davis got.

Everyone said MOS was too attached to Willy until he wasn't. He may be loyal but I don't think if there was a viable option at QB he wouldn't pull the trigger.

With 1 year left on his contract, I'm wondering if the first domino to fall is Wade extending Walters. Then the absolute first order of business is extending MOS. Once you have The Trinity locked up and ready to roll for the foreseeable future, then you can get to work tweaking the roster for a Cup run next year...

100%. Not to mention it would be tough to negotiate extensions for players etc. without a coach signed on. If MOS were not retained, this would have an effect on a players decision as well.

Unofficial list of Blue Bomber FA that was shared this morning did not include Sukh Chungh (or ANY of our OL, which is incredible)

Adams, Bass, Burnett, Briggs, Davis, Glenn, Denmark, Hurl, Gurley, McDuffie, Nichols, Rempel, Kohlert, Cummings

    No Chungh

That would be awesome if we didn't have to worry about that.

Would be nice to see Adams, Bass, Burnett, Denmark, Nichols, Rempel and Cummings back. Depending on what else they do at QB, we could do a lot worse than Glenn as a backup if Nichols is the starter next year.

Except that, as some of us have been saying, sometimes a backup comes in to a game, catches fire, and lights it up. If we go into this one thinking we're going to have an easy time of it we're ripe for getting beat, again.

I would hope that after the effort on Saturday that they would show some emotion and try to get back on track before the playoffs, so the QB on the other side should be irrelevant (to them).

As fans, we tend to get ahead of ourselves whenever a backup starts or comes in, but you never know what can happen especially with these young QB's. As Bomber fans we've seen Willy, Lulay and even Rocky freakin' Butler come in as unknowns and beat us so they shouldn't be feeling fat and sassy with a newb under center.

I loved Richie but this is kind of revisionist history. He refused to play rookies and the team was regressing every single year, the real issue is who we replaced him with

As for the extensions, three year extensions seem fair for Walters and O'Shea. Anything more is way too much given the unpredictable nature of the CFL. Look at our roster, how many players do we still have from four or five years ago?

Turnover on CFL rosters is normal, but this type of total rebuild is uncommon - and can be attributed to consistent turnover in the front office.

People like to think athletes are above the temptations that other people face but money and fame do not make you into a new superhuman that is invulnerable to all the vices faced by other people.

My favourite is the old "Wow if I was making millions I wouldn't <insert silly action>".

Exactly. Not hard to see how many more opportunities to engage in self-destructive behavior present themselves when you are a professional athlete/actor etc. making 6 figures.

I also don't think you can give O'Shea anything less than 3 years. He signed for 3 years originally, you're extending him because he's done what you ask him to and now you give him less security than when you first hired him? I can't see it.

Many people call years 1 and 2 a failure. I don't. I call them building the foundation.

Was this year a failure for Saskatchewan? Or was it the time necessary to build the foundation for what is shaping up to be a pretty good team?

I don't know how anyone can see year 1 of the MOS/Walters regime as a failure. It was a complete and total rebuild, what do you expect?

Year 2 was disappointing in the sense that the W's weren't there but an average kicker probably gets us at least 2 more wins.

This year they started slow and made multiple personnel changes and have gone 9-2 since. This speaks to the tremendous depth that we have procured in the past 3 years.

Winnipeg is starting to become more of a desirable landing spot for FA's and MOS/Walters are key reasons why. Lock 'em up.
