Um, I hate to disappoint you but the current Minister kept her portfolio as Health Minister.
The PCs added a new Department for Seniors and Long-Term Care. (A move that they heavily criticized the previous gov't for but did again, anyhow)

I should clarify well known in the political realm. I'd hazard to guess that Willard Reaves is more well known and would win a popularity contest over Obby among Fort Whyte voters.

Pretty sure Obby Khan is well known.  He's not the candidate for the area yet, but he's thrown his hat in the ring for it.

    Happy to have Gray back.
On Collaros, if he wants $700,000, he can make sure the door doesn't hit him on the ass on the way out. However its Dunk so doubt its accurate.

Collaros’s knows his career was almost over before coming to Winnipeg. He knows the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. He has a great opportunity to add to a late career legacy on a well coached team, good offense and most importantly a well protected offense. I can’t see him taking the money and running to a place that won’t offer him those things.Winnipeg will give him a good offer, with a chance to three peat and a chance to keep him healthy again for 18 games.

All Jets are fully vaxxed. If not they wouldn't be here. Helle isn't anti vaxx. He's pro choice. He got vaxxed tho. Only 1 player I'm aware of in the league isn't vaxxed.. bertuzzi from Detroit.
Helle isn't Novak Djokavic.. but honestly the media needs to stop asking rich athletes their irrelevant opinions
If I'm sick I don't go ask the dude at McDonalds whats wrong.. I go to a doctor.

It’s funny how often debates about saving the CFL and not turning it into the NFL turn into arguments about the merits of each game and why people who pump up the NFL or talk down the CFL in comparison are right or wrong. And maybe this is the issue that we need to ignore rather than examine to start fixing the league. I wrote about looking at the Australian model of Aussie Rules vs rugby, and maybe the answer there is that they DON’T compare themselves.
There is such an inferiority complex about Canada and the CFL and that Toronto isn’t big league without the NFL. Trying to measure up to the NFL seems like the wrong approach. Just accept that the NFL is bigger, louder, better athletes, provides better entertainment. So what? There is room to watch NHL and NFL in the same months without always needing to compare the two, because they are different. So let’s start treating the CFL the same way. It is a different sport than American football, is a summer league and not a fall league, there can be room for both in our world. Let it rise or fall on its own merit and stop worrying about competing with the NFL. Sell it on its own, fix the issues with marketing or costs or rules without getting caught up in “how does the NFL compare”.
Now I know some will say we need to compare since the players we have are always at risk to go to the big league, so you can’t ignore it. And not comparing hockey to NFL is easy because there is no player overlap. Well, maybe stop worrying about players leaving and remember that there are a bunch of two sport athletes in baseball and football who choose one over the other and no one sweats about MLB if a draft pick chooses football instead. And CFL rosters have always managed to be stocked in the past with the NFL around.
Push the uniqueness of the game here on its own without trying to show why it can one-up the NFL. Avoid the discussion of “well the NFL is better” with critics and focus on if the CFL is good enough of its own accord. Because the NFL argument doesn’t solve any problems and is just going to be a losing fight at the end of the day. Stop trying to convert NFL fans and work on making them CFL fans as well as opposed to instead.

I think people need to understand that the kicking game is actually a part of the game of football. It's not some side project etc. It's important. I'd encourage him to get involved in that side of the game. The more versatile you are, the farther you will go.

Take me, a complete non-fan of the NFL. Put a survey in front of me that asks if changing to CFL rules would increase my interest. I would likely answer yes, check out a couple of games and then continue to ignore it forever.
I suspect the same is true in reverse. The rules are not the reason people aren't watching. Changing them drastically will be the reason a lot of people that ARE watching, stop.

I started reading it and stopped. The sample size for a nation wide survey was far too small to be impactful.  Not to mention the conclusions are beyond un reliable. 4 down football would increase interest 10%? Assuming every single person who said their interest would raise with the switch to NFL rules would also come to pay as much money and watch as many games as the average fan does now is crazy. But even if it would, you dont whole sale change your product to gain 10% interest. Imagine if apple abandoned mac, iphone and all their products to sell windows Based pcs, samsung phones etc, for 10% more interest.
The whole thing amounts to a great big nothingburger. Which in the off season I guess is maybe better than nothing for some.  But im hoping some good sense will eventually win out. Tsn finally showed some signs of life in terms of improving the game day production. Cfl media that's actually fan friendly is finally growing. The cfl had some tremendous tv rating weeks this year. The league needs continuous improvement. Not whole sale product change.

I imagine a good few people on here are familiar with domestic car brands selling foreign made cars in the 70s and 80s. The 80s Chevy nova, was a toyota corolla with chevy emblems slapped on it. The chrysler lebarons with masserati design and italian build, geo storm, kia elan, izuzu impulse by lotus, even up to the diamler benz Chrysler products more recently.  Customers don't go to X to buy Y. They dont go to KFC to buy taco bell. They dont go to chevy to buy toyota. They dont come to the CFL to watch american football. The CFL IS canadian football. IF you take that away, they dont sell american football to canaidans. They sell nothing, to no one.
North america has access to all the american football you could want. Forget the XFL, USFL, AFL, IFL, Spring league and every other start up. You have 130 FBS division 1 schools playing 12 regular season games a year. The NFL played 17 games  with 32 teams a year.  And the US has about 16,000 high school teams playing 10 games a year.
No matter what level, or type of american football you like, more content exists than you can watch. The big colleges and every NFL team has coverage every single day of the year. The CFL trying to change markets after 100 years and going into business selling american football is the dumbest idea I've ever heard. No hyperbole. Imagine if tomorrow Westfield industries in rosenort manitoba tried to make civics and compete with honda.

I think the most annoying thing that I keep hearing from them is when they pat themselves on the back about how we've had the "strictest measures in place for the as long as we have".  At the end of the day, I don't care that you've put a bunch of restrictions in if a bunch of people aren't following the restrictions and not being punished for it.  Enforcement needs to be ramped up and it has to have some teeth behind it (ie. actual collection of fines and such).

Trying to figure out what the endgame is going to be for this whole thing, and whether a certain segment of the population will ever feel comfortable again. I keep reading discourse online from fully vaccinated (and boostered) individuals that would like to lock everything down, mandate masks forever, etc. I get the idea that we want to reduce pressure on the hospitals, but isn't the science pretty clear that an otherwise healthy and fully vaccinated person is extremely unlikely to end up there? And if we think that unvaccinated folks are also the least likely to follow public health orders, what else can we do conceivably do at this point that is going to make any difference. Short of locking down until we vaccinate everyone, it feels to me like this is as good as it gets at this point.
I feel for teachers, but when I read things online like "THE GOVERNMENT IS SENDING US TO THE SLAUGHTER WITH NO PROTECTION!!!", I can't help but think "You have protection. It is called a vaccine and so far all the science says it is pretty damn good".

Quebec to force unvaccinated to pay 'significant' financial penalty
Quebec Premier Francois Legault says adult residents who refuse to get vaccinated against COVID-19 will be charged a financial penalty.
Legault made the announcement to reporters today in Montreal, adding that the levy will only apply to people who do not qualify for medical exemptions.
It is the first time a government in Canada has announced a financial penalty for people who refuse to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Legault says the amount of the penalty hasn’t been decided but will be "significant."
He says about 10 per cent of adults in Quebec are unvaccinated but they represent about 50 per cent of intensive care patients.
Earlier today, Quebec reported 62 more deaths attributed to the novel coronavirus, pushing the total number of people killed by COVID-19 in the province to 12,028, the most in Canada.

Fair point on the naming.  I actually like that it's the QR code that needs to be scanned because it's harder to fake that.  I also believe that people who legitimately can't get vaccinated should have one as well so that they aren't limited.  The process to get that though should be heavily vetted.
