Pierce had already started regressing by the time he came here. Injuries had taken their toll and bringing him here reeked of desperation at the time IMO.

In terms of Lapo at least we are not hiring in January or February when most coaches are already in place ... it gives us a chance to assemble a cohesive staff instead of picking over the leftovers

Two things I do like about this signing.
1.) We acted fast and didn't have to wait to pick from the scrap pile.
2.) We got an experienced sought after guy who actually wanted to come here.

One timers are an art, Ovechkin is the only money scorer that has one. Buff has a decent one but people picked up on that, be interesting if they moved him to the slot to give him the chance...

I imagine teams have done their homework already on potential candidates and have an idea of who they want and how they rank them on their wish list.
As a fan I would like to see K.Jones or J.Jackson or possibly M.Brady here next year as our OC. They all seem to be on the cusp of being very good OC's.
