Most impressive play of the game was the 3rd and almost two they went for. Couture blew up his guy in the middle and Streveler easily got the two and more.

Nichols was hands down better than Reilly last night. I said to Noeller right after the game that it was the best game Nichols has played in 2 years. I don't care that he had low yardage, he didn't need to put up big yards. He made the throws he had to, extended plays and was efficient in the redzone. Got help from the run game and just played efficiently. Reilly meanwhile just chucked bombs hoping for the best

Yardage means nothing. When you throw more Ints than TDs you did not have a great game

Edmonton with Reilly was a big play team with better running backs & receivers than BC.  They went nowhere last year as well.  

The thing I noticed about Matt Nichols is he is DEFINITELY in better shape then he was last year. Not only more mobile which helped him for a couple or the touchdowns as he ran out of the pocket, but his arm strength is actually better. I’m not even talking about necessarily the deep ball in which there was just a few moments of miss communication but one play I believe was in the third quarter he threw an out on the far side field on  a second and ten and he got it there with enough zip for us to pick up the first down. That’s a throw I do not think Matt Nichols makes last year. Very encouraging. 

I always wonder why people worry about play book secrets being given by former players.

Where is Sam Hurl? His W was bulls eye around these parts. He was always in the tumble of bodies at the line and almost never figured in the stat lines. Honestly if the D line gets the kind of pressure that Jeffrerson and Jeffcoat could theoretically generate, Hecht might end up being an interception leader.

I was wondering who'd be this years player the fans love to complain about. Hecht is winning the 'Sam Hurl' award this year for sure.

I'll take 3 new faces who have had somewhere between months and years to practice with the team over the new to each other unit BC has.

Congrats -- sincerely wish he'd have been able to get his ring in 2007. Shame he never got the opportunity to play in that GC.

Calgary is still going to be a good team, but I think their D is also poised to take a step back which is massive. Their offense gets all the headlines, but it was their defense that carried them last year if you ask me.

These are fantasy rankings so I figure they are penalizing Nichols because Streveler gets a lot of red zone reps.  

Well i for 1 was not surprised when a kid fresh from the US of A comes in at 23  and does the things McGuire did you have to look at his potential to be the next starting Qb for us...Bennett has had what 3 years now? 2 teams? Its all about potential at 3 and McGuire has that in spades.
