Those people are semi correct, it depends on if you consider PAV the starter or not, he's not right now it seems. So Pav's numbers this year... nevermind the last several, somewhat irrelevant considering the team themselves sucked but his numbers, (save percentage) and GAA for that matter... are better than

    James Reimer
    Kari Lehtonen
    Darcy Kuemper
    Ben Scrivens
    Mike Smith
    Victor Fasth
    Nicklas Backstrom
    Ilya Bryzgalov

and Several others including Al Montoya

Not sure why people are comparing PAV to starting goalies anyway, he's the back-up and it's obvious

He's also not being paid tons of money like the real starters are.. 3.9 million is less than what Mike Smith and Lehtonen are making.

Pav's numbers aren't very good but... it's better than what people make him out to be.

Fact is, if people would stop pretending he's the starter and compare him to backups, his numbers are solid actually.

Jets using a rotation this year, Hutch has taken over that rotation.. last 3 years? Whatever, there are goalies with worse numbers than pavelec.

I'll never understand tho why people think Pavelec should be as good as the elite goalies in the league, he's not being paid like an elite goalie, those guys are making 6 7 million bucks a year.

It's all about D and Goaltending in the play-offs, If you have a hot goalie, you can go far. Edmonton did with Roloson, LA did with Quick. Plenty more examples really.

Sounds like fun in St Louis:
@FriedgeHNIC: STL pulls Allen after 2, Elliott gives up one, then gets pulled for Allen.
@blakeprice1040: Big scene at the Blues bench.. Elliott just pulled himself, and Hitchcock grabbed him.. Elliott knocks Hitch's hand away and storms off..

    http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/will-infamous-singer-gary-glitters-latest-sex-crimes-conviction-finally-convince-nhl-teams-to-stop-playing-his-music/
Will infamous singer Gary Glitter’s latest sex crimes conviction finally convince NHL teams to stop playing his music? By: Adam Proteau on February 6, 2015 Gary Glitter, real name Paul Gadd, leaves a London court in November of 2014 after being charged with sex crimes. (Ben A. Pruchnie/Getty Images) Notorious British musician Gary Glitter was found guilty Thursday in London of multiple sex crimes with minors, and if you’re wondering how this awful man has a connection to hockey, rest assured, you’re not the only one. Here’s why: Glitter’s hit song, “Rock and Roll, Part 2″, continues to be played at NHL arenas. It’s astonishing that teams feel justified in using it despite Glitter’s numerous sex crime convictions prior to this latest one – and the use of his music needs to end. Today.

The 70-year-old Glitter was convicted of one count of attempted rape, one count of sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13, and four counts of indecent assault. The charges all are in relation to crimes he committed against three girls in the 1970s; he’ll be sentenced February 27th and could receive the maximum sentence for unlawful sex with a minor of life in prison. And the former “glam rock” star, whose heyday came in the 1970s, has been found guilty of sex offenses with minors in courts around the world: in 1999, he was convicted of possessing child pornography (an offense for which he served a four-month prison sentence); in 2003, he was deported from Cambodia to Vietnam after sexual abuse allegations; and in 2006, he was sentenced to three years in a Vietnamese prison for sexually abusing two girls.

And yet, even with that information in the public domain, NHL teams have continued to play “Rock and Roll, Part 2″. The Colorado Avalanche still use the original version as their goal song. The Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators used it in their goal song celebrations last season. The San Jose Sharks use a muzak version for their goal song.

This is all so unnecessarily stubborn and, quite simply, unacceptable.

Try and put yourself into the shoes of a sexual assault survivor – or someone whose life has been affected by sexual abuse – who is in attendance at an NHL game. Let’s say, for argument’s sake, you’re also an Avs fan and you’re in Denver at the Pepsi Center. Colorado scores, and at the moment you should be cheering as loudly as you can and revelling in your team scoring a goal, you’re instead confronted by the work of a man whom you know has committed these heinous acts. Do you really feel like cheering anymore? Or has somebody’s insistence on playing this song transported you back to moments in your life when you were in great pain?
The answer is clear. When you should be thinking about sports, you’re forced to think about a human predator, and the agony they’ve caused. That’s not what people are paying for when they buy tickets to a game.

Some will say that there should be no connection made between someone’s art and the person behind it, but this isn’t realistic. We’re seeing now that, with disgraced celebrities such as Bill Cosby and Jian Ghomeshi, the perception of any individual’s work can be altered forever by new information that’s come to the public’s attention.
Tell me, Avalanche and Sharks game operations people – would you play a Cosby routine during the intermission right now? Of course you wouldn’t. The legendary comedian’s actions have made him a pariah, and no professional sports team would have anything to do with him.

That’s what should’ve happened to Glitter and “Rock and Roll, Part 2″ in NHL circles, but that hasn’t happened – at least, not when it comes to all teams. That said, the Panthers now use a different goal song this season. And to the Predators’ credit, they realized the error of their ways and announced last summer they would no longer play Glitter’s music.

“We try to take as much input from our fans as we can get,” Predators president and chief operating officer Sean Henry told RinksideReport.com. “But even if we had zero input from our fans, a lot of people have a tough time just stepping up and saying, ‘This is wrong.’ Being associated with someone like that was just wrong.”
It is wrong, but apparently, not wrong enough for the Avalanche and Sharks. They still believe they can associate their team and their brand with a monster. If they don’t want to stop using Glitter’s music, the NHL must step in and ban it for them. There are all sorts of exciting songs the teams could choose that wouldn’t upset people the way this one does.

Ultimately, the artist behind the art does matter. And when the artist proves to be a revolting criminal, it’s a revolting crime to continue promoting their work.

Look at the NHL in 78/79 when the NHL merged with the WHA & the quality of the play in the NHL for almost a decade after that. Most NHL goalies back then would be AHL goaltenders today. The goaltending is head & shoulders better than it was 30 years ago. So many 40, 50 & 60 goal scorers back then. Defense is much, much better. And now a 50 goal scorer is a special player. Like it was before the first round of expansion back in 67/68.

I'm gonna say it, but Chicago is a team that i could see struggling down the stretch too, They are without Patrick Kane now and their D leaves lots to  be desired, Jets aren't far back of them actually, 4 points i think. Calgary seems to be struggling a bit right now too, LA is in, Reality is if Jets were in the Pacific Division, they would be second behind Anaheim.

Vancouver will be without Miller for a long time now too, Calgary could very well take Vancouvers Spot.

The way i see, Advantage: Winnipeg for the 1st wild card spot. Why? because they hold it right now and just need to keep picking up points like they have been doing.

Just imagine contracting the NHL back to 24 teams from 30. You'd cut the bottom 20% of the league -- roughly four active players off every team. That'd push the average talent level up nicely.
Of course, I'd also like to see a 60-game regular season with the Stanley Cup decided in March/April before the weather gets nice, but that isn't going to happen either.

This topic is for teams in the Wild Card race.

L.A.: We can write off L.A. as being a concern. After hibernating for most of the season the Cup champs have woken up and have won 8 in a row. No surprise. When you've won multiple cups recently you can take 50 games off and turn on the power when you need to.

    4 teams - 2 spots...

Calgary: Kings play lately has knocked them down into the Wild Card race but they have a March schedule that is the best of all the teams included in this post. 15 games(7 home) with 10 against teams below them currently in the standings.

Minnesota: Pulled off the trade/gift of the year by getting Dubnyk. 14 games(8 home) in March and 6 against teams below them currently in the standings.

Winnipeg: 14 games(8 at home) and 5 against teams currently below us in the standings.

San Jose: Has a brutal March schedule. Of their 13 games they only play 3 teams below them currently in the standings. On the plus side, the least amount of games.

    And the rest...

DAL/COL: Can not find the post from last fall but I called DAL/COL as missing the playoffs this year and that's holding up. Really seeing nothing changing in that department plus I just can't be wrong in my predictions

    Conclusion...

    Advantage Calgary/Minnesota

Healey really sucks to listen to. He talks about the game just like a Leafs fan would, sounding disappointed and disgusted. He takes their suckage personally.
That said, I really like Hughson calling playoff games, because he doesn't have the Leafs to root for and so he actually does a great job.

Hutch gets a shut-out, Stafford has a huge game, Ladd fights, Trouba plays lights out, Buff vaporizes someone, mayb, hopefully Phaneuf, Meyers scores from centre, Lowry collects three assists, Slater is unbelievable on the PK, Little has the puck on a string all night.

Or not, and the Leafs win, Sunday is ugly for us Jet fans, that horrible, knawing feeling of oh oh.

However tonight unfolds, Leafs commentary believes the Leafs are one or two key pieces away from being elite, what's with Kessel talk, is Nonis a genius or a buffoon, probably a few mentions of Wendall Clark and 'Dougie' Gilmore. No mention of the Jets, well maybe a few comments about Kane, the recent poll of no one wants to play here and our push to the playoffs.
