  1. Past hour
  2. Stanback is kind of a one dimensional player. They will have to commit to the run. He's pretty useless from pass sets as both a runner and receiver.
  3. Youre right, and drake would be similar. Don't be stoopid, you know we don't love her up here... LOL Would celine dion still be a big deal? Iirc she has a massive residency in vegas. I think a final performance by Sum 41 would really over lap the market and demographic well. Not canadian, But Ice cube did really well up here. He'd be a big get imo. Especially if you could get any off shoots of nwa/aftermath/shadey records to come with him.
  4. Didn't realize BC had signed Travis Fulgham ... That's a pretty big pickup, I remember him being in my NFL fantasy lineup briefly a couple years ago. He got a big opportunity with the Eagles when several receivers in front of him got injured and he played well. He never really got another chance though. I think he could be a sneaky big acquisition for BC.
  5. The Weeknd would have to really want to do it. The man is worth several hundred Million. But he's a big enough name that even if he isn't your particular cup of tea, you'd have to acknowledge what a coup it would be to get him. But he's a fellow Scarberian, maybe he'd come home and do it here. Who knows?
  6. And by no means does every thing have to cater to the hard core fan. Even the unwashed masses on the FB groups deserve content aimed at them. I think the clarity most of us want with injuries/roster is pretty basic. But we aren't going to see it with Mos. I wonder how the coaches show is when the team isn't as good in the future. I'm glad the team and cjob are making that money and getting that support now. I hope they milk it as long as they can. 94 and 11 iirc
  7. Derek is doing the absolute best he can with the coach's show. MOS just isn't very forthcoming so it's being able to work within his parameters. And honestly, for 75% of people, it's more than enough. And it's still insanely popular, which is why it's an easy sell for the Corus marketing team and is always loaded with spots.
  8. BC should be good, but I am not sure they should be as good as media is hyping them up to be. Although they host the GC and VA is a very big play exciting guy to watch when he is on, so it is understandable that media will try to create hype and stories around this. As I mentioned above VA is and has always been a great athlete, but has had struggles in the mental portion of his game. Last year he for the most part didn't get too high or too low, and showed maturity and growth, it still begs to be seen if he can keep growing in that regard, or if as history has shown he falters back to his ups and downs. He also had a very good, very experienced receiving core at his disposal to use his strengths with, does he still have that with the high changeover in his starting receiving corpse? If he doesn't can, he successfully adapt to a different style of game, last year he lived and died on the "big play". The big question is, with Stanback the Lions do have a solid ground game, will they use it, will they use it enough to not become one dimensional and if they do will that affect VA's ability to get into his rhythm on the field. again VA was at his best and was very good, when he got into a rhythm and the big plays were happening. If they choose to use the run game enough, will VA be able to be patient and turn "it" on and off within a game to allow a run game to get established and then find that big play magic only in between running plays. I for one do not think BC will use the run game as much as even they want due to this. I predict they will start the year trying to establish a more balanced offence, but that this will come at the cost of VA doing what he does best, which is pushing the ball downfield. I predict after a few weeks they will go back to last years one dimensional big or bust offence, to get VA back into a groove.
  9. Harris...tho BLM hurts himself trying to help him up....Masoli with all the luck he's had trips over the both of them...breaking something....and Cries of "we are snake bit again" squeel outta Saskatchewan as Patterson is a poor mans version of Shiltz.....but with minimal passing skills, and Dole Bannana out in B.C shows he's more than a capable back-up and spot starter, and Fine lands somewhere else as a 3rd string, on a playoff bound team.....The Mace era starting out splendidly in the process with les wins than Dickyboi produced in last 2 seasons....hjow's that??
  10. Trevor harris, BLM, and Masoli walk into a bar, who hits the IR first?
  11. The big question in Saskatchewan is what to do when Trevor Harris, THE glass quarterback, goes down to injury again. Will Shea Patterson be the solution? Patterson has been with the Kansas City Chiefs, B.C. Lions, Montreal Alouettes, Michigan Panthers, and New Orleans Breakers... Is he more than just a journeyman? He does seem to have some scrambling ability and that's big. But once the defences have had the chance to study him, will he be able to show starters skills? Personally, I don't think he has the jam. Our star quarterbacks don't go this route in our league. You get two maybe three years and if you don't emerge impressively, it usually does not happen – – at best you become a career backup. Now if Regina puts a superior team on the field then maybe he can get the job done. However, that's a big IF.
  12. Especially the guys who mess up spectacularly, or who are only in camp to round out numbers etc. Qbs get some leeway for obvious reasons. Other positions, if you can't handle the ball as a KR you gotta go.
  13. Today
  14. I know it is a long standing un written rule at most every level of football that media doesn't talk to an ast unless its cleared by the HC, and virtually always just a media scrum thing.
  15. I agree with all that. He'd be the first guy I'd scoop up. I wish we'd grab him. Maybe he doesn't want to sit on a PR though. Some one should snap him up. Certainly a decent lure for our own vet guys. I think a lot of free agent vet types over estimate their individual impact and think any team they go to will become a play off team and make a long drive. Except for henoc. I legit think he was happy enough to be done the year early.
  16. I think where the Bombers have been making up the distance in FA a bit is in playoff participation. I get that no one thinks you will be joining a team that is going to miss the playoffs but the difference between say a Bombers roster spot where they have had a very good run of success and the Redblacks where its not so much is $3400 for getting to the playoffs, another $3400 for getting to the semis, and then either $8000/$16000 for the runner up/winner of the Grey Cup. I think I had read that Bailey had a better offer on the table from the Riders last offseason, but they were sat at home in November and whoever was slotted into that WR4/5 spot for the Bombers was going to take home an extra $15K for their troubles (and were a few plays here and there away from an extra $8K)
  17. big time....like his body type here as well....
  18. 25 years old, I’d take a chance on him, he’s a good player. Imagine him actually not being on a dog **** defense. I think there’s a lot of opportunity for growth in his game still.
  19. I'd take Titus Walll before any of them actually...see what he has to offer in our system...still so young too
  20. There was a time where only the head coach was allowed to talk to the media. I don't remember when or who the head coach was, but I have a vague memory that there was some incident that caused the policy to be created. Wish I could remember more.
  21. I think The tragically hip was as perfect as it will ever be. For today, I think the weekend would be as good as it gets. Would you take sayles over Mcfadden, wall, or carnell? I'd take the first 2 for sure, carnell Idk if he is 100% or will be again. If he's close I take him too. I loved sayles when he was here, but he has an awful lot of miles on him for his age. It's probably an upgrade for them, but If I'm them us or any one else I go with the younger guys.
  22. They could very easily start widening Route 90 between Grant and Taylor at least. The other construction that isnt talked about enough is extending Moray Street to the Perimeter. This would remove a tonne of the traffic that ends up going down Grant then onto Shafsbury or Route 90. This has been on the city planning maps for 50 years but nothing has been done. At this point, I dont think people want to get rid of the dog park.
