I'm waiting until I hear what Luke Willson has to say about it until I'll say if it's a great game or not. lol

Ya it's kind of a callback post. I was freaking out after our draft about why we took so many LBs and Mike said the thing you quoted from me above. Patience, grasshoppers....

This feels like Walters first major **** up.

I think we might’ve. Good chance one of the two ends up being in the cam judge tier atleast. Thing is, lbers don’t have the huge uptake time that QBs and some other positions have. Both guys were playing major d1 ball. If they were imps they’d be expected to start as rookies. The seasoning those guys need, comes from playing D too. We aren’t gonna sharpen them up on kick cover teams. But we played them on D very sparingly in pre season. We will let guys like schmekel and kornelson drown on D for extended reps each game, but won’t let guys like Shay and smith atleast play running situations. Ayers is in the same boat. That guy isn’t getting better as a player only covering kicks and eating dirt on short yardage plays. We suffered through the D reps with karamoko, Kramdi, Hallett, etc. Gauthier once upon a time was the 28th pick with out standing athletic ability running a 4.6 40 with 10’ broad, cadwallader was even more athletic with some big jump numbers and db reps. We’ve hammered lots of high upside Canadians down into limited (teams) role players, (Eli, year one ford lots of examples) and up jumped tcf low pick Canadians into starting jobs because of intangibles. Why didn’t mci get a good half to 3/4 or a game worth of reps at rb? Same with Peterson. Can name soo many guys who we picked with tremendous upside only to give up on them playing their actual position.

Great game. Classic CFL drama. That's a game you could put on ESPN Classics in a decade. I love this league. Arbuckle looked Grey Cup worthy there for three quarters there. Spieker needs to buy the entire Als D cheeseburgers and I hope Davis Alexander sits down until that hammie is sound. When I saw him tuck it and explode towards the endzone I knew he was gonna come up lame. Dude has a real powerful burst tho, I didn't know he was that fast. board needs a "Go CFL" reaction for games like this.

Another example of what makes the CFL great.

Thats how osh operates....he rarely will give a new guy...even if they are better a chance.....and good luck un-seating a vet here....prob why we don't seem to be as active in FA of late...guys wanna play...not play second fiddle to teacher's pet yup...part of our issue is Walter's allows Osh too much say....hence we continue rolling it back with inferior guys each yr...and each yr its worse and worse until a total overhaul is gonna be needed....and could be next yr the way things look so far this yr i know how....spin it as a joke...failure...flop...and sadly...predictable...encompasses pretty much everything about it As soon as we re-upped Thomas and T.Jones well before FA I knew right away it would be status quo....same ol same ol...guys pencilled in before camp even started and a uphill impossible battle for any new player to unseat amyone add Allen....Woodbey...J.Jones...Move Parker up to corner...Griffin to SAM...keep Person on now....add Bailey for the least useful Canadian on roster (or for Sheehan and let Sergio do all 3 jobs) and we in business. Not even giving them a look when it's apparent we aren't at our best is ridiculous.... Gotta mainyain 3 canadians on oline and let Wallace grow into the spot....3 import oline hampers us and the net value of doing it isnt a real positive or makes us better We also need to figure out receiver cause as it stands...we are bad bad bad and a longer term injury to one of Wheatfall or Demski and we are major hooped we wouldnt have...we woulda drafted ST guys....and if we did....both prob would have never amounted to much as they wouldnt play...or they would have jammed outta town after rookie deal expired
-
What an insane finish....
-
Counter point: What if we drafted Cam Judge and Alex Singleton...... (And they're just not quite ready for prime time yet.....) ?

Spieker filling up his Pamper in the 4th Q of this game.

100%. He doesn’t gamble as much to jump under routes, but gets burned deep just as much some how. I hope we see Allen, woodbey, vaval get a shot at some point.
-
I really can’t see any way to positively spin our offseason. Jon Jones and Dillon Mitchell getting paid nearly 300k to be healthy scratches while we watch Lawler tear it up is a tough one.

Many times Bridges has looked like Houston but without as many opportunistic int’s. Two steps too late or not even in the play. -
You’re right. But again, Walters is Mos boss. It’s not only his job to cycle in talent, but to manage mos. Db, I think we went with bridges for fit and execution. I don’t agree with it, but it does make some sense. We struggled for a big chunk last year to get guys on the right page with JYs coverage. But once we got it working our D got worlds better. I hope we still move on from bridges this year.
-
Even if we did its not a given that OShea would have given them a chance, just look at db, we brought in a ton and ended up settling with Bridges who was already here. (even though it looked like other rookies showed more ie Allen and McGowan)

Why can't the CFL have a draft of American & international players? Say 8 rounds separate from the CFL draft of Canadans now to generate interest. These secret Neg Lists go back to the 1960's. It's time to change the way the CFL conducts business. Now, I'm not advocating the league goes out & drafts players that will be NFL automatics but there are players from the fourth round down that will never make an NFL team or some that'll never be drafted. I think CFL fans would be interested in finding out who their teams drafted & finding out more about them. Just my take.
-
Argos look good. Nice to see Milt back on the panel.
-
That's what posters here that you were arguing with were saying that personnel decisions & the management of our cap is puzzling with the decisions made. We're not disloyal to question just WTH is going on. This has been a long time thing with Osh as he plays favourites. We get rid of guys who could still contribute like Lawler & let players walk in free agency. Then not replacing them.
-
Hopefully Osh is taking notes in how to have some balls and set a tone and show faith and trust in your offence and defence....went for it on 3rd and goal...and a quick turn around on a interception and all of sudden up 18-4 early in game...We would have kicked a FG....Reason why Dinwiddie schools him in the Grey Cups....stop being a panty waist already
