  1. Past hour
  2. The front was great last night. Kept getting Sask off the field. I really liked the scheme. Yeah you could have better players, but they aren't here right now. Everyone did their jobs even with the adversity of losing Schmekel before half. I think they could put more thought into putting Jefferson into a spot to succeed in that general scheme with the 3-3 look. Really the big difference in the game was a couple breakdowns in the secondary and that we didn't score a TD on our 5 yard line turnover while they did.
  3. Agree about Schoen. If Walters cannot come up with someone with two good legs and able to catch a ball, Walters ought to be shot. Pylon Logan and Mitchell have not been worth waiting for.
  4. Well except for this year they were going LB no matter what but since 2018 Walters has gone BPA or futures and has been very clear about that in interviews. This year they felt NAT LB was a huge need with our NAT LBs aging out. The draft video is there for all to see, Walters makes the decision with scouting and then asks MOS if he is good with the pick. MOS has always said a simple Yes or Sure. There is no lobbying by MOS pre or post pick.
  5. Hamilton is a sell out apparently. I expect a lot of points.
  6. Ummm....have you been watching O'Shea's roster decisions?
  7. I’m ok with that. Draft is a crapshoot. You never know what’s going to change year to year as players come and go. Grab the best player available.

  9. Could be a couple of good games today. Looks like a pretty good crowd in the Hammer. Speaking of crowds not only was yesterday game jammed packed it was record setting. You're welcome Regina
  10. You can say that all you want but Walters himself said he drafts BPA. In the past he has even drafted futures over BPA or positional need. He was very clear that he hasn't drafted positional for a few years now hence our problems with the OL now.
  11. I think Vaughters has been really good against the run. None of them wow me with their pass rush, but at least Person is still young. Willie will be 35 next year. It’s time.
  12. Yeah I thought the D-Line played okay early on but it was apparent they were tired by the fourth quarter. We really need to get into the modern philosophy when it comes to rotational use. All the best teams are rotating fresh players on the DLine.
  13. I think Cam Allen is going to be a great player. Let’s remember he’s in game 3 or 4 with the Bombers. When Alexander got moved to safety in 2019 he had nearly 4 years of CFL experience under his belt. I like Cams physicality, and I think for the most part he has the instincts and speed to cover a lot of ground. Totally ok letting guys like him, Vaval and Woodbrey continuing to figure it out. I think all three have a future in this league.
  14. Willie/Vaughters/Person as a rotation is the least of our problems right now. I don’t mind that much, although I’d like to see a fourth player added.
  15. I’d keep Stan as long as he’s willing to play. If a young guy comes in and beats him out for the LT so be it but even with his uneven play he’s still one of the better / best tackles in the league (and a strong voice in our room). Willie you keep. You just need a more disciplined, well rounded end on the opposite side of him. He’s got a lot in the tank still but he always thrived when he played with a guy like Jeffcoat.
  16. In fairness to Allen, I think we need to decide what we want as a fan base. I’ve been asking to let the talented young guys play. I’m not going to get upset at a guy like Allen for a wildly obvious beat as a young player, it comes with the territory. I’ll take that over the (as an example) approximately 376 times Bighill didn’t blow a tackle because he was three steps away from being able to make one. The one thing I would like to see from Cam Allen is for him to realize the difference between when he needs to hit and when he needs to tackle. I’ve been overall decently happy with him other than that, even with the blown coverage yesterday.
  17. It’s because they chose to gut the heart of the team all in one year. Moving on from Biggie, BA, Woli .. these are guys who yes, we should have been looking to move on from but also were leaders, been through the ups and downs of season and provide steadiness. Before was the topic de jour, I was talking about how we needed to find the next Bighill. Guys that oozed potential but needed a year or two of seasoning behind a guy who holds others (including himself) accountable. BA is another one of those guys. He’d lost some of his range but what you want out there is a guy who is confident, get others in position and communicates well with the secondary. Kelly. Parker. Allen. They aren’t that guy. Allen has been better than ANY of the other guys we’ve had back there all season but he’s still not good (yet?). If I wanted to watch a guy flap his arms in the air as a ball sailed over his head I’d rather have had BA back there this year with the leadership upside.
  18. Oh yeah totally winnable, which is what makes the stupid things they did so painful.
  19. I agree the best option is to keep both, but they need to figure out what this team is. We’re a slightly better version of the 2004 team right now. Jefferson, Thomas, Neufeld, Wilson, Logan, Vaughters, & probably even Bryant (with an immediate hof induction) shouldn’t be on the team next year. That’s a lot of cash to remake this team in the offseason.
  20. Good. I’d guess Schoen gets more time to recover, Wilson takes the boundary wideout spot and Wheatfall moves into the slot?
  21. The Pokey Wilson signing is for this year and next year according to X.
  22. All of that is part of football. This was a winnable game in spite of all the mistakes. And there was still a chance at the end, if the whistle gets blown when it should. ZC was under siege all night and was nothing short of heroic.
  23. Today
  24. This is not a top-tier CFL team. In a way, it's too bad they aren't a total basket case club, in which case O'Shea might be forced to let us see what Terry Wilson has, along with some of the other young players who remain hidden in the wings but who don't get to play.
  25. I'm saying it was a draft pick based on roster construction as opposed to picking best player available. So where does that direction come from?
  26. However it came down to 3rd and a mile to stay on the field... not that close given the context or the game.
  27. Baloney to blaming coaching for poor drafting. That's a reach and you know it.
