  2. My guess is that ZC may be out for awhile. Just a hunch but he may be dealing with a recurring injury from August 2023, after which his efficiency as a QB began to decline. Right now, six games or 1/3 into 2025 season, ZC has the worst QB efficiency rating among all the 9 regular starting QBs. Collaros also has the highest INT percentage with 8 INTs vs 7 TDs. Colloros's QB efficiency rating isn't just the worst among starters, at 89.1 it is significantly worse than the others. You could argue Zach has the weakest receiver unit in the league which would contribute to this inefficiency. But looking back at 2024 with a better crop of receivers, Collaros threw 19 INT vs 21 TDs - this includes 4 INTS in the GREY CUP and 4 TDs in West Final - which gave Zach the worst INT percentage last year among QBs who started 10 games or more. That is a total of 28 INT versus 28 TDs in the past 25 games in which Collaros has appeared. Yes you can lay some of that on the receivers. But still. This is not to take away from Zach's substantial contribution since he arrived here in 2019 - respect! But the decline in Collaros's performance since around August 11 2023 neck injury vs Elks (when Dru Brown came off the bench to win the game) is clear as day.
  3. Bryant is out right now and we have Vanterpol 26, Randolph 26 and Wallace 25 to mix with the 2 30 plus year olds. Getting off the ball quick and fast pacing will tire a Dline always chasing and not able to switch out a lot quicker especially late in the game
  4. the question becomes then who do you replace Collaros with? and what will it cost. We are paying about 100k premium on a compared to other qbs. The aprox difference of having lawler vs shoen
  5. Today
  6. Not too mention Bryan and Jefferson. Could be a lot of changes in the offseason. But I doubt that they will move on from Zach.
  7. I thought Person looked pretty good he made the mistake of getting his hand in the mask but basically had 2 sacks in limited time. Vaval looked like an instant upgrade over Bridges. Who returns kicks next week assuming Vaval remains at corner? Mario Alford is available. Would like to see is go after Dakota Shepley who is almost certain to get cut by Dallas.
  8. Collaros has hit his ceiling and is on the way down. Streveler has yet to show us how good he can be post-rehab. He may or may not be the future, but we gotta find out.
  9. Our OL are mostly guys in their 30's. Neufeld 36, Bryant 40. Kolo 32. How long do you think they'd last?
  10. I think Schoens already cooked. That knee injury was serious & he reinjured it. That's a setback. I have never seen a receiver get so beat up by his cover guys when he was relatively healthy. He was a human pinietta out there.Schoen will just go back playing the same style & get hurt again missing even more time.
  11. Its more tiring chasing than initiating the play
  12. Are you asking about $wise? Collaros is at 600k and Schoen about 175k, so 775k or so. So hypothetically, it would give you a lot of $ to work with.
  13. If it was so easy, why hasn't he fixed things earlier? Not only are we playing like it's 2014, our Head Coach is reverting back to his old ways of 2014.
  14. If Osh gets fired, all Walters will do is probably promote Jordan Younger to Head Coach anyway. we need a thorough house cleaning at the top.
  15. Right, In the Old West the reaction would be called Circling The Wagons. If we can tire them out then we can do it to ourselves as well.
  16. I think Hogan wants a guy that moves the ball out a lot quicker, like a Calvillo/Glenn style. Neither of our QB's is great at that. Streveler really struggles if moved off his first read and then he goes hero mode...which he can't really do anymore on his own. But Streveler does get into good rhythm off tempo and moves the ball out quicker in tempo. IMO...we don't have the right receivers to run anything that works for Collaros....or really anyone. Sterns can get some separation and make space, but he's 5'7. He's not running by or through anyone after the catch. Wheatfall doesn't seem like they trust. He screws up and they just avoid him. But often the only guy dressed who is a real target for vertical stuff which is kind of the calling card of this era for the Bombers. Demski has some limits, obviously can make some big plays, but can disappear if there's no other threat. Clercius is great at Z, win those isolation routes without having to deal with traffic and move his feet too much to win. Mitchell brings that ability to take the top off, not a whole lot else. Him and Wheatfall can be dangerous on screens if they are confident. Schoen, who knows, doesn't look physically capable. OL is up and down. Think our Week 1 OL is the best combo, but the vets on our line week to week are consistently inconsistent. Randolph...don't think he's won a job. Vanterpool probably our best player on the line so far this year. If I'm starting Streveler this week, I'd run tempo the whole game. I'd have like 12 plays and just run the hell out of tempo, no huddle. Inside zone read R/L, Outside zone read R/L, QB Draw, 3-4 RPO plays, 3-4 drop back passes, swap sides and route combos each pass play, change the reads so it looks different to D, short yardage pack. Don't need to trick anyone one, just need to beat them and tire them out.
  17. I love Streveler for what he is, and what he's done in our uniform. But this is laughable. This team was his in 2019 for the taking. I know he was young, but the only reason Collaros is here at all is because Streveler was 3-5 with a team that went 13-2 and won the Grey Cup in games with Nichols/Collaros. If anyone viewed Streveler as a starting quality QB, he'd be in Edmonton, or Hamilton last year, or Toronto, or Calgary. He's just not that level of player. He's a good backup with some unique qualities if he's healthy. Which he's nowhere near. Watch the guy throw a ball. He's arm throwing, he's getting nothing from his core, hips and down. He likely should not have returned until after Labour Day.
  18. I dunno...with more work...coaching from Jackson...and getting reps with 1's in practice and if he gets next couple starts I can see Strev being more than serviceable...you have to remember guys in this time fully recover from reconstruction surgery...Strev is only what...10 months removed from surgery? He's gonna regain his legs...hes not cooked by any means in that regard He has thrown 5 tds to ZC 7...and that's in just over half the attempts...and other than 1st start minimal prep and crappy situations So I'm apt not to make final judgements until he gets a bunch of consecutive starts...will that happen...who knows yet...should it...I think so as looking at the QB market moving forward he may be our best option for late this yr and into 2026 barring any trade where we get a gift from someone...so the prudent thing would be to start implementing stuff with him in mind...and getting him work in every possible situstion and chance we get. Elephant in room tho is Osh and we know how he operates and doesn't allow for anyone to push for a prominent role let alone the defacto starter...and this should be occurring in multiple positions too...not just QB There is a definite issue and disconnect in room and amoung coaching...management....and add in a stubborn HC who won't make a change let alone tweeks unless ultimately forced to, well then we get what we are seeing. Staying the course now...and continued looking backwards and assuming things will work out is just setting up for failure...and serious issues next yr...that or a total house cleaning....this isnt 2021-2022 anymore...we don't have the top end talent...in their prime...nor the depth...or any heir apparent in place..or even given anyone a actual look and reps to even see if we do...so save for an epic shift on how we do things...who we play it's looking like we are in tough and 3rd place may be our ceiling...and that may be a stretch...and don't even wanna think about next yr based on how we went about our offseason in a grey cup yr at home if we don't change some roles at the top Toss in whatever Jake is making...Kolos 150k...Kramdis ridiculous 135k...Mitchell and his so far wasted money...
  19. Same went with the Ultimate Warrior.... the wrestler was awesome... the actor was a mess.
  20. Fire Hogan and promote Jarious Jackson to OC?
  21. I don't know of any impact player in the league who is wanting off their current team. Maybe Chad Kelly out of Toronto so they can rid them of any PR issues.... So Zach for Kelly which I'm sure so many people on here would go crazy for....
  22. What kind of talent could be added to the roster without Zach and Dalton’s contracts? Serious question.
  23. Rational and well said. I agree it could be a case of being "found out"... But I would hope it wouldn't happen this quickly or this easily. And Jordan Youngers D last year was perfectly fine. As you say, they didn't just forget how to play football. Very curious.
  24. I agree. To me it looks like teams have clued into schemes and/or inferior talents at some positions. OL, Receiver, maybe DL - I can understand why there would be challenges there. But the secondary was dominant last year, while the LB corps was certainly adequate. These guys didn't suddenly forget how to play football. Kick cover is as good as ever. The running game is solid and could be dominant if the passing game were more of a threat. Whatever is up with the secondary needs to be sorted out. And in my opinion the offense needs to revert to a more ball control type of game. They DON'T have the OL to make ZC's beloved deep shots work consistently. With some adjustments, this could be a .500 football team. Just my realistic 0.02
  25. we now have an answer as to why, he just didn't want to go https://deadline.com/2025/07/dan-aykroyd-why-he-missed-snl50-special-1236471740/
  26. I think Hogan’s style of offense would work better with a mobile qb. For the most part, I’ve liked the playcalling with Streveler at qb, but the problem is that Streveler isn’t very good. He misses easy throws and isn’t very mobile anymore. I don’t like either of our qbs anymore, but at this point I probably would go with Streveler and hope for the best. Moot point however, as Collaros isn’t going anywhere.
