Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
JuranBoldenRules replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
There's a 0% chance Elgersma signs here before the end of the next NFL season. And at that it would be if he's getting no calls and looks in January-February 2027. 4 weeks on a NFL PR and he makes more than he would on CFL deal. If he's on a roster for OTA's and training camp he'll basically make a full year of CFL salary on a rookie deal in per diem and pay. If he signs with us he won't be playing any time soon. He won't really be in a spot to succeed. They won't be building an offense around him. There's no incentive at this point for him to sign here, or the CFL generally. -

And right now...Nathan is 10x the QB Elg's is ..hes proven zip to date Oh I agree...but some also need to be realistic...he can still chase it..probably more successfully if he was to get some film up here and shown potential. Even agree to sign and if a team wanted to add him to the PR ...not just a look...the club would release him. Ford got a good look signing here...and playing soley ST save for one start at end of yr If u have legit talent..it was known before u were draft eligible and would get if not a PR spot...or numerous workouts to possibly get one...when u get no tire kicking...especially a Canadian.. undrafted...from a Canadian university...u need to realize a few things...and there's always next yr if u do anything...even 1 thing that scouts like, you are gonna get nibbles...they are always watching..my opinion he got bad council from whoever is in his camp -

If osh has a vet available to him...long tenured one and or one of his failing favorites hanging around and available...any new blood has a 1 percent chance of getting on roster...let alone kept...that's a fact here ...he will use every last millimeter of tread left and then some ...and thats not a good thing...hope he has seen the need to change his ways.. and hope and pray he was told he is gonna change his ways...and with that in Walters not giving him long in tooth and sub par favs he caters too...this happens...we be fine.. - Today

As long as the right move is made, I don't care when or if an announcement is made. They can keep it quiet as long as they want. -

It would be nice to get an OC announcement this week or at least confirmation that Hogan will not be back. -

What if those were the best players? Whose fault then? I'll take about 10 of those seasons any day of the week. We've done a hell of a lot more right than wrong in the last decade. Just gotta get back to that. -

Comments like that always baffle me. ”god I hope we sign this absolutely stupid ******* idiot who is hopelessly and selfishly clinging to an NFL dream, doesn’t this moron know the Bombers are his only shot to play pro football in front of us, these amazing fans? What a clown!” -

Well he sat around all yr for 0k a yr this yr...on a hope and a dream...needs to realize his chance of anything even close to a week here...a week there on random teams as an undrafted Canadian qb...from a Canadian school is remote at best... -
Here’s hoping he doesn’t. Hate the Wild with a passion.
-
Goaltending is not the problem with this team...
-
Wow big roll of the dice cause Hughes won't commit to the Wild right now...

It really is hard to believe he doesnt want to come sit on the bench for 80k a year, compared to sitting on the bench for 960k. -

I find it hard to believe this thread is still going in late 2025. "We've looked for that flight for 3 centuries. It's my medical opinion that they're all dead, Jim."

I like how the Alouettes do business. They move on from players & let the younger guys play. Cody Fajardo & Darnell Sankey are two examples. The Als felt Davis Alexander was ready but they felt he was so they released Fajardo so he could sign in Edmonton. The same with Sankey. They released him so he can make a deal elsewhere. A younger & cheaper player will take his place at linebacker. It's also what Wally & Huff would do. They had great success managing theior rosters. They always pushed their veterans very hard. If they felt a younger was ready to step up, no matter who was playing at whatever position they would make a change. Would Osh do that? Hardly. Not a chance.
