  1. Past hour
  2. Bighill plus bye week made Calgary look like a well prepared team. Winnipeg was also just really not in the right headspace. Lots of opportunity to win that game. Interceptions. Missed open receivers and when we did put the ball on the money we had sun in our eyes…. glad we have a bye week and justification to make some changes.
  3. -Stamps coming off a bye -Stamps coming off a really bad game -VAJ is better then some people think -Bombers going into a bye -Bombers complacent thinking they're better than they are Flush it and move on. If they stink out #FortHew in a couple weeks, with little to no pushback, then I'll start to worry..
  4. before breaks they always seem to play crappy. It's really bizarre. It's been that way pretty consistently for a few years now.
  5. Today
  6. I stopped listening to the coach's show a long time ago .. basically a bunch of non-answers and folks rambling / asking nonsensical questions. There's nothing of value that comes out of it. The defense (objectively) wasn't good last night. Poor tackling. Poor communication. Poor execution all around. It doesn't help that Zach threw two touchdown for the other team but the defence did *nothing* to help the cause last night.
  7. Fans don't like to look at those things. Easier to blame the defense.
  8. Well, that was embarrassing. About the only Bombers who had decent games were Clercius and BradyO. Everybody else stunk.
  9. I don't think there were any shining examples of competence last night. It was a complete team stinker. Hopefully the bye week will reboot the team, but I'm not holding my breath. All the DBs were a step and a half behind, receivers were content to wait for the ball to come to them and Zach looked like he was playing for the other team. The team is just old. WJ seems to be phoning it in so far this year. Jake, aside from one play a game, seems to be content with trotting onto the field in a "look at me I'm still playing" prance. I feel we're on the verge of slipping into mediocrity again.
  10. Regardless, its going to be a void we now need to fill.
  11. Does anyone call in to the coaches show and ask these questions? I haven't listened in a long time but I'd love to hear the answer to these preparation questions.
  12. Like: Game ended at a reasonable hour No like: PREPARATION/EXECUTION. D seemed unready for Adams and the Calgary O, to start. After the 1st pick 6, the offensive game plan looked like a dice roll. Bombers started the game with mistake after mistake - never got better.....struggled with basic stuff - making a handout, hitting open receiver, catching wide open passes et al. Bombers came looking for trouble......and found it. Not good enough. DL. This isn't a computer game, where you just tag 4 guys as your D-line.....and just run it. Have to construct a ROTATION, with more than one guy (Adams) who can penetrate. Couldn't find our DEs with a Geiger counter..... ZAC. The pick sixes, weren't the kind a vet QB should throw. Too many high balls, late balls and Workman Comp.balls... TSN Panel providing an embarrassing new version of Hee Haw.
  13. Well i mean Sergio went 100%. Also everyone was wearing uniforms so kudos to the Equipment Manager
  14. Lawler broke 1000 yards once in his career to put this into perspective. Back in 21 and has never played a full season in reality. Schoen has broken over 1000 yards in both seasons he was healthy and played 18 and 16 games. Lawler has 25 TDs in 63 games. Schoen has 27 in 38 or so games. They kept the right guy. Lawler ****** off. I’m sure they offered him a fair contract. I mean the guy hasn’t broken 1000 yards in 4 seasons now. Is almost 300k the going rate for 900 yards? besides aren’t ppl going off on how Zach and his arm is washed. What’s it matter if lawler is here and Zach throwing 60 yard passes 50 yards. Isn’t the problem the QBs inability to actually throw a deep ball ?? You could have 5 Jerry rices or milt stegalls in their primes and im not sure it would matter if the qb was throwing into triple coverage half the time.
  15. We went withe the guy coming off of complete knee reconstruction.
  16. We had many on here saying the amount Lawler was paid was insanity due to the amount of games he only played the last few years. What do we do then?
  17. 1. DL - sucked 2. Game plan -sucked 3. Secondary -sucked Crappy Honker - LB’s… sucked Dishonourable mention - the Stampede Bowl trophy is fugly. HM - me, for putting as much effort into this post as most of the team did in tonight’s game.
  18. The decision to pay Schoen who can't stay in the line up & not Lawler is going to cost us more than money
  19. Bottom line is Calgary was prepared for us and Bombers were not prepared. Overall it looks like Bombers hit their high water mark last year but the lack of preparedness for the opponent is on the coaches. My main takeaway: Collaros has become a receiver killer with his noodle arm and lack of accuracy. No wonder Schoen and Demski are hurt, they have to jump 12 feet high to snag the pass, or it's behind them, or it takes far too long to arrive. Many saw this coming 2 years ago - hoping Bombers would promote Dru Brown. Hopefully Jarious Jackson can intervene and help devise better schemes to help a QB who is in decline and has no O line protection. I know it won't happen but would prefer if Strev starts next game at QB.
  20. Thing is they had the Ehlers vs necas trade agreed upon. I mean sure this is like ppl going on about past grey cups tho. Irrelevant
  21. 1. DL. Hot garbage. Jake with 2 tackles is the same as Willie and Devin adams and 1 more than Vaughters. 2. DBs. They were owned in the first half. 3. Zach. The pick 6’s are game changers. 4. People who put coaches on here when it’s obvious the coaches were not happy with the effort. Effort is on the players not the coaches.
  22. 1. MOS/coaching staff. Just woefully unprepared in every aspect. The entire team had a lackadaisical mentality like the game would eventually just work itself out. From starting a guy with the flu at defensive tackle to not being able to use a challenge in the most blatantly obvious situation. Playing dink and dunk down 3 touchdowns. Just baffling decision making all around. 2. The DL, this partially falls on roster makeup but Willie is already gassed out at week 5, Vaughters was a flat-out bad signing and Jake was good depth a decade ago. 3. Collaros. 2 pick 6’s and panicked and overthrew a wide open receiver on a sure TD. Crappy Honker- Randolph takes a brutal holding penalty on the first drive of the game which more than likely took 6 off the board. Non-Bomber crappy honker- The line judge who was giving Calgary extra full yards on multiple occasions. HM Devin Adams had a good game when he actually saw the field. Brady had some nice runs when he wasn’t falling down Clercius.
  23. Stats are wild. Jake had the same amount of tackles as Willie and Devin and 1 more than Vaughters. Tony who sucked lead the team with 8 tackles. Stats. Holm had zero
  24. I’m not gonna fault Walters because of hindsight. I agreed with the decision then and I think knowing what we knew then it was the right move. Lawler chased dollars on a bad team for a second time, after royally screwing up here and not living up to expectations or pay here. That said, we’d be much better off having over paid Lawler and let schoen walk. Maybe schoen isn’t 100% and have all the rust off. I hope he can get back to where he was. Right now he looks like post injuries Robert Gordon. And lawler is still a top end no1 wr. Roadhouse isn’t here right now, I hope he makes it back at some point.
  25. Problem with Clercius is he's basically good at one thing. When they've tried him on other routes he's struggled. He's not quite what Wolitarsky was, but similar at Z. Demski is kind of that release valve type guy. He really needs to be the #4, oh D is so worried about the other 2-3 guys and forgot about him. Let him beat guys in press in the score zone, find him on 2nd-3rd read in a route again where D loses him. You shouldn't be running many plays for him downfield, and if it's covered you need to move off him, he's not the kind of guy who is going to win those contested plays very often. Case is probably a more realistic version of what they want from Sterns. Thicker, possession type guy.
  26. This is a slippery slope. Stamps attempted 18 passes all game. They got up big and then played not to lose. The way the DLine was getting dog walked and the DBs were getting outworked by the receivers in the first half, had the offense had the juice to turn it into a shootout Adams likely would have ended up with 400 yards.
