Pumped for Peyton Kettles and the whole Kettles clan down south to watch big P get drafted. I learned some lessons playing behind Peyton's dad, Kyle, back in the day. Kyle was younger than me and I was an incredibly immature kid who didn't understand why I was backing up this "little kid".... A little kid who ended up getting drafted by Nashville in 1999. They're a true hockey family who put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into the game. Peyton is gonna be a good one in the bigs before too long...

"The Professor". Or was it "the Factor". Or was that bellfool? I can't keep up with all the failures we had as OC's in those horrible stinker years. Still think no one could ever be a bigger flame out in the CFL than this guy: Aka Count Chocula.

How was the game? I hit two humdingers and a triple. Love that word.

That’s why MBT has had a million pro chances with varying success. He’s big and tall and throws a nice ball.

Jaunty Allouette @ Hamilsmell

If MBT hadn't gotten hurt in the 2022 Grey Cup we would have three-peated that year, no question. - Today

I’m not talking nfl retreads, realistically that isn’t likely no matter what with the cap even if it went up. I’m talking young minds from down south. The cfl is so far behind the 3/4 levels of us football in innovation now it’s really sad. The systems flat lining of innovation up here is going to exacerbate the leagues demographic problem.
-
They need to go back to the normal draft as this one was really really bad tv. Awful. Draft isn’t exactly exciting but this one was real bad. They decided hey let’s make it worse for the viewer at home.
-
Jets go local with their next pick taking Oakbanks Owen Martin. Perhaps a reach but very solid 2 way forward but not really a scorer or anything like that. But he becomes the 3rd Manitoban drafted by the Jets. Maybe Brandon Tanev ish minus the hitting but that type of player. High energy.

so today I took one more bus ride on normal transit before the Primary Transit Chaos kicks in tomorrow (I needed to use a Freddy's Coupon anyway)

Gary Crowton is available. Leader of men with a humdinger offense.

Bethel-Thompson is hot garbage. 201 yards on 41 passes with 2 INT’s with the best receiving core in the CFL btw. Just for comparison Zach completed nearly 85 percent of his passes for 334 and 3 touchdown passes to 0 INT’s and before anyone mentions the 50/50 balls that’s just part of his game you live by the sword or die by it. I truly don’t think there’s another QB in this league that hits Wheatfall like that for the touchdown pass.
-
I like how the CFL coaching staff has been evolving, players become assistants, than coordinators before moving on to HC roles and most are fairly young, done with the stodgy old NFL retreads of decades past.
-
-
In watching the game, I was impressed by the velocity, and range and of most of the passes Bethel-Thompson and Mitchell threw. A real contrast to many of Collaros' throws.
-
well I tried the Pizza bites from McDonalds, they're not bad but they're essentially mini pizza pops

I think we do need more coaches from out side the cfl ecosystem. I’d particularly look at cos and position coaches to fill the same roles up here. I would also give more chances to cis guys and try to strengthen the coaching pipeline up here. Instead of mostly relying on ex players to join current cfl coaches and maintain the status quo. in general, we need larger coaching staffs though. More scouting in league and down south, more position coaches, more quality control, film, and analytics/stats roles.
-
Context? Would you hire guys who were HCs at lower levels? NCAA? CIS?

Thought the game was pretty entertaining.

Son of a *****!

Our coach was a ST coordinator with no prior head coaching experience.
-
Yes, always liked him. Didn't get enough touches in Winnipeg. He hits the gaps fast and has good vision. Can be slippery. But he stands too tall when he runs and often goes down on first contact.
-
I definitely agree. Once the existing head coaches retire or die, we should just fold the league.
-
Fleury re-signs for 2 more years >1m/yr
-
How about this - you can change your pick, but all QB sneaks scored by the team you changed to don't count.
