Bang on. The CFL only worrying about the players but not the fans was wrong. If air quality was as bad as they say then get everyone out of that toxic nightmare. Cancel the game & do a make up whether it's the next day or two months from now. People wonder what is up (or down) with attendance. To me, the answer is easy. Disrespect the fans & this is what you get. No one shows up. I wonder how many fans the Riders lost Friday night with the way they & the CFL handled everything?

I'm okay with Case getting his year 2 opportunity. I might be the only one who doesn't think he is horse poop.

What if Case for better from last year to this?

Holy **** Case is going to start, this is such exciting news I can't wait to see what he can do for us! He showed so much potential during pre season and came into the league with such prestige and high praises. Sooooo jazzed about this!!!
-
He's been on roster last 2 actually

ZC has never looked the same since that neck injury against the Elks in EDM a few years ago.
-
Most fans aren't in the shape of a football player. The average man & woman expend a lot of energy climbing up & down stairs as they're out of shape but the league doesn't take that into consideration. I think if the players can't play then it sukd gia
-
He approaches the game "the right way"tm

It wasn't 67 years ago, I would have to have been 3. However, it was a long time ago & yes things have improved since but careers are still cut short with an injury like that. And it still is a life altering injury.

This weeks picks need to be in by Thursday @ 6:30PM Current standings below:
-
To be fair, that was like 67 years ago. Medical science and treatment has improved since then 😉
-
Weitz was moved to the PR a couple weeks ago.
-
Tre Ford is really not that good tonight. Without his running he doesn’t hit his targets very often.
-
Yeah that would be the best use of assets..having both Logan and Mitchell back for KR too Be nice to swap Bailey for Weitz too...we know what Weitz offers...not much...havnt even noticed him on teams, so time to see what Bailey has to offer. Why we don't see what guys have in game reps is baffling If we go 3 nationals too be nice to see one of Person or J.Jones as well
-
Yeah that’d be a pretty big down grade. Vaval needs to grow make a few better decisions and be more secure. But that’s typical of rookie krs. Hes worth developing and teaching. especially since he looks like a legit db. Vaval and schoen for Logan and Mitchell would be well worth while though.
-
Case had 1 catch for 5 yards in three games last year. Believe he didn't play this past pre season. Had 1 catch for 4 yards last pre season. Seriously why is he still around? Logan as another offensive weapon and the returner would be interesting. Hopefully another defender in to help the Dline too.
-
Well Case is a pointless returner too...so hopefully not even tho Vaval has kinda petered out a bit...but he still has that break one threat...case...nope

Maybe they are both coming on and Vaval is coming off. -
Yeah not sure why people saying he not or can't play slot...hes done it...plus he is a pro so should be able to anyway...we also use our guys in all the spots as well...that's just a nonesense excuse

My 2 cents... The league got bogged down in logistics for Calgary and completely forgot about the fans. How they handled this was completely ridiculous. They've significant shortened how long they will delay games for thunderstorms, but an air quality delay can be indefinite? Policy should be the call is made based on the numbers 1 hour before the game. At the latest. 1.5-2 hours would be more reasonable. If they want, have the decision made in consultation with public health in the city or someone like that. The CFL can't seem to figure out their own parameters on what is safe or not, or whether it's Labour Day and we can't cancel or not. Take the decision out of their/TSN's hands then. Need to have some respect for the health, safety and time of the customers.

good news thread (non polItical please)

The policies the league has for this are pretty easy to find and make the protocols explicitly clear. If AQHI+ as deemed by Environment Canada (you can actually see these values in pretty much all stadiums via the Purple Air map) is 8 or above, players aren't allowed on the field. The policies also state that there will attempt to make things work for up to 3 hours (I think they let it go to 4 in this case). Regina was also under a special air quality warning at the time. Should the league have been more proactive in maybe rescheduling based on the forecast? Maybe, but they were hoping that winds would come and mitigate the issue. Should they have left everyone sit in the stands without much updates within the stadium? Probably not, but in an open air stadium what else can you really do. Everyone has their own risk profile and were expecting to be there for at least 3 hours anyways. And it is indeed a safety issue for the players more-so than the fans in the stands... it is an order of magnitude more dangerous doing wind sprints up and down the field in that kind of conditions than it is hanging out in the stands. The problem is with something like lightning, you know there is some timing involved and you can actually see it. Of course there are people that are going to dip as soon as the delay happens, and then you make the decision as time goes on as you see more or less lightning. With the smoke its just kind of... there and you can almost get acclimated to it but as soon as you hit fresh air its clear what was going on, but you have morons on Facebook and X going "hurr-durr back in my day I'd run marathons sucking back a pack of darts players these days are babies."

I jut turned 70 last week. At my age just waking up is good news. Bonus that I remembered where the bathroom was thus preventing a nasty accident. Yes, I remembered to close the lid. Wait a minute, did I flush???
