So you're saying more is expected from guys with bigger contracts? Thanks for clearing that up.

It shows you need to live up to that big contract if you want to keep it.

Maybe the decision wasn't made until after they saw him and some of his potential replacements at the mini-camp.  Sort of dumb to cut someone when you don't have a replacement yet.  We've been down th

That may be, but I'm betting his replacement was.

You're right, his name is Veltung.  Veltung's replacement may have been at camp as well, we'll see.

That's football. Guys get released all the time. It is what it is.  If you have a good money contract and aren't producing.. you are replaced. Football is a business also. Wish some NHL players could be released also.

I haven't seen the other guys mentioned (other than Dressler but DUH!) but I've seen Veltung and there's a lot to like in his potential for the return game

The DL is exciting potentially. Alabama and the SEC in general usually has a ton of talent and speed.

With Medlock being one of our 4 DI's, it's tough to see another DI being spent on a return specialist.   Sure Stoudermire played some other spots but he was primarily a return guy.   It will be interesting to see who the other 3 DI's end up being this year.  I think there will be one DL, one DB and hard to call on the last one right now.

Yeah his physical tools and high caliber schooling is really interesting.

any chance they use Dressler on returns or too much risk of injury?

I could see them using a returner by committee approach.  Dressler is a hell of a punt returner and efficient about it too.

I thought Stoudermire was a pretty good DB when we got to see him a few times, never really understood why they wouldn't use him there more and tried to shoehorn him into the offense.

Probably should DI at least one OL - Bart Andrus

Did I imagine that he had a couple interceptions last year?  I hope this means they've found guys they are more excited about.

You sure didn't.

Edit: Fixed it!

and if I'm not mistaken it was off a tip.

A INT is an INT...most come off tips

Money or scouting, we'll find out soon enough.

yes an INT is an INT. I'm not sure about your other comment, but I was only mentioning it as it wasn't a particularly great play on his part. Just being in the right spot (which is obviously important).

I think he had another INTERCEPTION perhaps the play before but it was taken away on some chincy call.

Right. That's what I was remembering then. Thanks.

Well I don't know what you guys think, but it looks like maybe our scouting team is really doing something. I mean, like, we released Stoudemire, Jhomo Gordon, Davis, maybe these guys are not superstars, but they have been good players. But we have found something better. And that's a good thing.
