I haven't read the article (because I already have a headache) but why can't he just charter an airplane?

I unfortunately fell down a flat earth worm hole a while back so have some info on their thought.  Planes don't go high enough to see is the argument.   Radar is rigged to make planes fly in circles to make the earth appear as a ball.    Also the fact that planes fly with their noses up is proof that the earth is flat.  If the earth were a ball like the "lies" that are spread, planes would fly with their noses pointed down, otherwise, they would fly right off the earth.  Yes, that is some of the "logic" they spew.

Basically after getting in deep enough of the youtube video, and you follow the dots, it comes down to a creationist argument.  If the earth is flat, it doesn't rotate around the sun (the sun and the planets rotate around the top of the flat earth), and the earth can once again become the centre of the universe,.

"A National Geographic study released [in November 2003 ] found that only about one in seven Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 could find Iraq [on a map].

The survey asked 56 geographic and current events questions of young people in nine countries.

Americans got an average of 23 correct answers.

Other findings: When asked to find 10 specific states on a map of the U.S., only California and Texas could be located by a large majority. Only 51% could find New York.

Only 89% of the Americans surveyed could find their own country.

Only 71% of the surveyed Americans could locate the Pacific Ocean."

so, flat earth... why not.

If you have had the misfortune to accidentally hear "coast to coast am" it makes sense to you.

A lot of work goes into to these conspiracies.

Interesting that planes don't go high enough but he's only launching himself 1,800 feet in the air.

Why does government/illuminati/stone cutters want everyone to believe the world is round? Does this truly all circle back to proving the bible is correct?

Another fav of mine is the New Chronology:

from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Chronology_(Fomenko

According to New Chronology, the traditional chronology consists of four overlapping copies of the "true" chronology shifted back in time by significant intervals with some further revisions. Fomenko claims all events and characters conventionally dated earlier than 11th century are fictional, and represent "phantom reflections" of actual Middle Ages events and characters, brought about by intentional or accidental mis-datings of historical documents. Before the invention of printing, accounts of the same events by different eyewitnesses were sometimes retold several times before being written down, then often went through multiple rounds of translating and copyediting. Names were translated, mispronounced and misspelled to the point where they bore little resemblance to originals.

Other pieces:

Historians and translators often "assign" different dates and locations to different accounts of the same historical events, creating multiple "phantom copies" of these events. These "phantom copies" are often misdated by centuries or even millennia and end up incorporated into conventional chronology.

This chronology was largely manufactured by Joseph Justus Scaliger in Opus Novum de emendatione temporum (1583) and Thesaurum temporum (1606), and represents a vast array of dates produced without any justification whatsoever, containing the repeating sequences of dates with shifts equal to multiples of the major cabbalistic numbers 333 and 360. The Jesuit Dionysius Petavius completed this chronology in De Doctrina Temporum, 1627 (v.1) and 1632 (v.2)

One might wonder why we should want to revise the chronology of ancient history today and base our revision on new empirical-statistical methods. It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century chronology was considered to be a subdivision of mathematics.

Archaeological dating, dendrochronological dating, paleographical dating, numismatic dating, carbon dating, and other methods of dating of ancient sources and artifacts known today are erroneous, non-exact or dependent on traditional chronology.

No single document in existence can be reliably dated earlier than the 11th century. Most "ancient" artifacts may find other than consensual explanation.

It goes on and on and on.

Uggggh............Coast to Coast has been garbage for years.

According to flattards, Antarctica is supposedly the edge of their world, with an insurmountable wall made of ice at the edge.

I honestly have no idea how any human being with even a basic understanding of science could rationalize such silliness.

hey that reminds me, what happened to the idiot that jet packed across whatever to prove the earth was flat?

Might be time to start a thread dedicated to celebrities and sexual misconduct

https://www.thestar.com/news/world/2017/11/29/nbc-fires-matt-lauer-for-inappropriate-behaviour-at-workplace.html

I suggested the same thing awhile ago!  Sad but true.  I love that Trump has called for an investigation into sexual misconduct at NBC.  I think the last thing a certain former host of an NBC show wants is an investigation...

Prospecting for battery "gold". Who figures this out, wins the next fifty years. Green car Congress http://www.greencarcongress.com/2017/11/20171113-fisker.html

Fisker’s scientists, including a co-founder of solid-state battery start-up Sakti3 (acquired by Dyson, earlier post), filed patents this week (under a non-publication request) on flexible, superior energy density solid-state batteries. The patent includes claims over novel materials and manufacturing processes that are critical in achieving the required energy density, power and cost targets required for the widespread use of electric vehicles.

Fisker anticipates the technology to be automotive production grade ready from 2023 onwards.

Fisker’s solid-state batteries will feature three-dimensional electrodes with 2.5 times the energy density of lithium-ion batteries.

Fisker claims that this technology will enable ranges of more than 500 miles on a single charge and charging times as low as one minute—faster than filling up a gas tank.

This breakthrough marks the beginning of a new era in solid-state materials and manufacturing technologies. We are addressing all of the hurdles that solid-state batteries have encountered on the path to commercialization, such as performance in cold temperatures; the use of low cost and scalable manufacturing methods; and the ability to form bulk solid-state electrodes with significant thickness and high active material loadings. We are excited to build on this foundation and move the needle in energy storage..
