Grey Cup Ticket Sales

I took my weekly look at Grey Cup ticket sales and it appears there has been some significant movement in seats.  I would estimate there are only 3000 left.  Of course, not all the grayed out seats are sold, but I think it's safe to say that only a few hundred more of those will be made available over the coming months.

Provided they didn't have to give too many discounts or freebies, props to Miller and the Grey Cup marketing committee for this bump in seats sales.  There should be a legit sellout with the way things are progressing.

  • Just drove back to Edmonton yesterday from Winnipeg. Even though we were only there for 36 hours we had a great time and are left with a very positive impression of Winnipeg. We walked around downtown

I don't have a lot of sympathy for the people flooding Kijiji who do not want to attend the Grey Cup without the Bombers in it.  There was a 99.9% chance in March that we'd be where we are today.

"Be a long time before the Grey Cup is played here again". "I hope so, it's got to be a bit embarrassing for the League". I have been to only 2 Grey Cup festivals, 2011 in BC and this one. I will sa

Joey Gregorish but only if he sings the Skittlebits song.

I was once on Skittlebits, for my birthday.

Yeah, 20 is an important year to celebrate..

Polka. They need a Polka band. Everybody polka.

I vote for Gino Vanelli or Jian Gomishi.

Jian Ghomeshi...lol! He's still living in his mom's basement as per the court order.

But once he was the king of Spain

Yeah but now he eats humble pie.

Nah. Klezmer or nothing. Or 20 minutes of nose flute solos.

Sweet! With a little "Who stole the Keishka" or "What do you do with a drunk Ukrainian"

I took a look and the number of available seats has started to rise.  Appears to be 2500 available.  Granted this happens at every Grey Cup in the weeks leading up to the game - lots of pairs, or parcels of 3 or 4 seats will pop up, sometimes in prime locations.

Interesting that I haven't heard a word from the media regarding seat sales in quite some time.  Being asked to keep things hush-hush?

I don't think they are getting anything from the team.  Someone had an article last week (I can't remember who at this point) & they asked Miller about it.  All Miller said was ticket sales were heading in the right direction.

Yeah, I  remember hearing that now that you mention it.  If they are down to a few thousand, they should have no problem selling it out.

Nestor Pistor!

**** this guy so much...

The thing that kinda bugged me about it was he keeps saying "this is not a joke"... sure he actually intends to give the tickets and $5 away... but this is absolutely 100% a joke... he posted this ad to try and get and laugh and try and get some local viral attention... and he achieved his goal....

The best part of it all would be to see the Bombers win both of the last 2 games and make the playoffs...

The pic attached to the post is definitely not true, never had a mouldy hot dog bun at IGF, mouldy wiener sure but ... ;)

I was at a conference yesterday held at IGF. The whole thing was set up pretty darn nicely by the Bomber folks - so kudos on that front. Wade spoke to the crowd of a couple hundred at lunch and talked about how they are really trying to (re)connect with the business community. He asked all those with Grey Cup tickets to stand - pretty sad to see no more than 2 or 3 people standing.

I think the tickets are over priced. They needed the team to be playing well to be selling the tickets at those prices.

Next year their going to try reconnect with the season ticket holders many of whom are probably going to take a wait and see attitude.

Wonder if Asper owned the team if it would be in this state?

What would have been different if Asper owned the team? Seriously?

I suspected this nearly a year ago when ticket prices were announced.  Miller and the organizing committee learned nothing from Vancouver last year.
