Perhaps this team should focus on winning a game showing real improvement in all facets of the game and not trying to limp into a playoff game that will simply hide the dificincies in this team that need to be addressed.

Hurl great? Not sure he ranks as serviceable .

We could sign Henoc and play 13 on defence as Hurl is invisible anyway.

With his famous pop, I would expect Duron gets at least one more cup of coffee in the NFL first.

At some point if this team continues to lose out on the current NFL cuts there has to be some concern about the sentiment and stigma that this team now seems to be plagued with

I think Henoc should have to sign with us since we released him so he could try the NFL. Otherwise I think teams should stop releasing players to try the NFL.

He was a free agent, we didn't release him.

O'Donnel was let our of his contract by EE to pursue the NFL so I would expect they would have some pull on him.  He played about 3/4 of the Bengals last game and looked good so he may not be coming North anytime soon.  Plus he's plus size.

I don't hold out much hope of signing Muamba.  Not because we wont be competitive with our offer.  But I believe he'll give strong consideration to the eastern based teams so he could play closer to family.  

 

I hope I'm wrong but I just have a gut feeling that I'm right.

 

Note to Iso...If Walter's isn't successful.  It also means that 7 other GM's couldn't get it done either.   So give up on your personal vendetta against the guy.      

Sucks that this didn't happen a week or two earlier, could have signed Henoc to a massive contract and cut Hurl with no cap issue. Either way Walters should do everything humanly possible to get Henoc to sign the dotted line.

Another thing to remember is Henoc genuinely likes Winnipeg. If you look at his Twitter account he follows a number of CFL players but most are Bomber players. He follows the Bombers Twitter feed and various employees of the team. Hopefully that will count for something.

Loyalty is very rare in sports today, hopefully his time here meant something to him but i doubt it and i dont blame him

I'd go to about $275,000, and that's pretty much the absolute ceiling I'd have at this SMS number for a non-QB.  That's 5% of the total SMS over a whole season, about $110,000 over the last 7 games.

Those lucrative "Recycle Everywhere" gigs should be enough to tip the scale in favour of Wpg.

I stand corrected. My point was that he would have been a free agent 5 days later. It's not like he was released in the middle of his contract.

Would LOVE to see Muamba here again and as much as it would be nice to think he would have some loyalty to the team, reality says that he can expect what, 4-6 years before his body says "No Mas"? He is likely to go where the dollar leads him and Ottawa seems to have no limit on their spending. Should Walters be able to sign him to a long-term sane contract, that would be a coup. As far as dumping contracts to make that possible, are not all veterans into guaranteed paydays now? If its just a few dollars more, I say screw the SMS and take the hit- we're halfway thru the season now anyways.
