Anyone else following them as intently as I am right now? They are on fire after the trade deadline moves.

 

I'm a little concerned that AA left the minor league pitching cupboards a little too bare, especially with the Price trade. Even though they gave up the guys with the highest potential in Hoffman and Castro, I think the return was worth it, since Reyes had regressed so quickly. In getting Price though, AA gave up a couple of guys who would likely have been solid starters in a year or two in exchange for a rental. A very good rental, but a rental none the less. Without the Price move, I'm not sure if the Tulo and Revere moves alone would have provided the morale boost and buzz that we're seeing now that could propel them into the playoffs.

 

The positive thing is that we have most of our current position players returning next year, which will ensure very good defensive play and offensive continuity, but it will be a challenge to pull together a complete starting rotation and bullpen without being pretty active in free agency. Pitchers currently on the roster who they have no control over include Estrada, Buhrle, Price, Hawkins, and Lowe.

those bleep bleep bleeeeeeeeeeeeps thought they would pull some garbage in the last game and series and not have to see us again. Oh how the tables have turned. 

 I seriously hope the umps are smart and keep the games under control.

Cubs and Boston get primetime which is how it should be.

Anyone else not a fan of the TBS broadcast? I mean I used to watch Braves games on TBS way back in the 90s, but over all I prefer watching and listening to Buck Martinez on sportsnet.

Martinez and Tabler are so unbelievably awful, I'll take basically anyone over them. Thank Christ and everything holy for the games Dan Schulman did this year. Those were professional baseball broadcasts. While I'm not a fan of guys like Ripken and Darling, the PBP guy was actually a pro ball caller, and that, to me, makes all the difference in the world...

not a fan of buck or tabby at all. That said i hate watching my teams play when announced by none home broadcasters.

this is how I feel exactly...I like how a home broadcaster knows the players, but our broadcast crew is just so awful. Universally known as the worst in all the majors...hell, our radio crew is better than our TV crew.
