Special teams was atrocious

Two turn overs resulting in two touchdowns by the special teams, two missed field goals, a missed PAT that would of tied the game, and Stoudemire trying to be a hero but instead ends up a zero. Good grief. This was a game we could have and should have taken.

So, given his issues, why didn't MOS gor for 2 points instead of 1? I know there's a thread on this, but  it would have been the perfect game to change the way he approached it.

yeah I am hopeful that MOS starts going for two more often.  Hopeful.  But not expectant.

If anyone thinks the Stamps legitimately beat the Bombers as opposed to the Bombers beating themselves are out to lunch. We gave that game away on STs & penalties. And we did what all other Bomber teams have done in the past few years, we couldn't close the game out. We had a chance to win but we blew it. I was at the game & it was frustrating to watch.

hey Al -- you weren't in Section Q by chance, were you? Sayyyyy...like Row 14?

Real good teams don't beat themselves......

I know it's one game and Stoudimire has been a great returner for us, but I'd be very tempted to stick with Veltung.

He screwed up in one game in the entire time he has been here. Too much talent to have him not playing!

No Section A. I saw some Bomber fans there proudly wearing the colours like me with my Dieter Brock jersey. We should have made arrangements to have met. Too bad.

Ahh I had two guys behind me talking about living in MB back in the 80s and now living in AB full time. I was curious :)

I think that's one of those times I'd try the convert every time tho. Down by 1 right. Imagine we went for 2 and didn't get it. The pitchfork crew would be having a field day.

I was wondering if you were at the game as well.

How this that happen? I clicked to read the thread and ended up in the Riders site with most looking for blood. The guy was just back for his broken hand and was trying too hard. He's still our best bet returning kicks/punts. He had some bad returns but he also did very well on most.  There are other things that did also contribute to the lost.

We have one of the best ST coaches in MOS as our HC but let's face it, we haven't had great special teams play overall since he got here. I know Pat Tracy is the STC but maybe our HC has to have more input into the decisions on that unit.

so you just described half of Calgary's inhabitants. :)

I can't remember the last time people didn't complain about ST. Doesn't matter who the HC or STC are/were.

When you miss a convert, two fgs, have a punt blocked, a fumble on a punt return and a punt return where the returner loses yards and wastes time in the final minute, why wouldn't you discuss teams?

It's strange, because last year I thought our ST was outstanding....

Strange cuz last week I thought they blocked a punt late in the 2nd against Montreal. Short memories around here. If Mike Kelly visits this forum he must be shaking his head cuz man the guy was Def right about some of the fans mentality.

ST's lost us that game. They were really bad.

Other than the Banks touchdown I have thought the kick cover unit has been very good.

I think the general consensus is... special teams was terrible AGAINST CALGARY and probably cost the game... not, our special teams is terrible all around... that was an atrocious effort...
