Als @ Stampeders

Been sick at home all week, super happy to have a CFL game to watch as a break from all the Netflix.

Stream I'm using, in case anyone needs one: http://nfl-streaming.tv/stream40.html

His analysis of Jeff Fuller was good.  Played 3 games in 2013, only 15 catches.   Yes, only.  5 catches a game= 90 a season.  Only 90.

  • "Literally" means you're 100% sure about that...I'm not.

I hope the B.C. Edmonton game is more entertaining - at this rate I'll be switching to Uruguay/ Columbia soon

How are people not enjoying this game? Watching Troy Smith bumble his way around a football field is pure comedy.

Not really - I called it a loooong time ago, I also said he'll be unemployed by Labour Day and Drew Tate will most likely be in Montreal

That's great that you prognosticated this but that doesn't make it any less amusing.

It seems like Smith is throwing at receivers who are standing still, he's not hitting guys in motion.

I wouldn't even call that a horsecollar tackle. The things the refs consider horsecollar in this league are pretty questionable.

Pretty boring dull game. Not much happening at all. Smith looks horrible but BLM don't look much better.

Als should just run All Go every down and hope they hit 1 or 2 of them.

Max Hall may be getting a call.

Shutout in the first half with a 15 yard penalty on the 2nd half kickoff.  Doesn't get much worse.

According to the rules it was the proper call.

Tackling an opponent by grabbing the inside collar of the side or back of the shoulder pads, or jersey

Laughed at Rod mentioning how Fuller was kept around by Calgary, um he came up late in the season. Shouldn't a PBP guy have a clue?

It's a crappy penalty and the NFL does it right.

ESPN so far has talked about Dwayne Wade and now World Cup...  no one wants to mentioned CFL on air in case they get assigned to it permanently...

yes it is. Dummy me took Toronto

Could be worse, I gambled on Curtis Steele chewing up yards against Etch... ha

I want to see Troy Smith finish this game with less than 100 yards passing.

Neither of these teams have looked very good at all. Troy Smith has been especially bad, but you'd think a team as good as Calgary would step on the throat of a team as bad as Montreal.

The wording of the NFL rule is pretty much the same as the CFL rule except it's more long winded.

Horse-Collar Tackle. No player shall grab the inside collar of the back or the side of the shoulder pads or jersey pads or jersey, and pull the runner toward the ground. This does not apply to a runner who is in the tackle box or to a quarterback who is in the pocket.

Note: It is not necessary for a player to pull the runner completely to the ground in order for the act to be illegal. If his knees are buckled by the action, it is a foul, even if the runner is not pulled completely to the ground.

That may be true, but the way it is enforced is quite different just based on observations. Probably due to inferior officiating.

Wow.  That's the worst non-turnover punt return I've seen in awhile ... and an illegal block to boot.

Calgary's playing down to Montreal's level.
