He did take over Sask mid-season.  Spent the rest of the year evaluating and bringing in new guys.  Then hit the ground running and won the Coupe in '07.

I like Pedersen's other rumour on a potential hire - assistant Rider GM Jeremy O'day.  He's been sucking up all of that knowledge now for two years from Brendan Taman.  I bet he has a napkin holder full of good ideas in his desk drawer by now.

Saw Lyle is a box at the Stamps/Bombers game.  He wasn't kibitzing and talking business that's for sure.  He was there to watch football. 

Bauer has said, while in Calgary, that he'd like to bring Mike Kelly back again.....that, alone, gives me reason to put a restraining order on the guy and keep him away from IGF.....

Hiring Tillman would be another nail in the coffin. I think it upsets a good chunk of the hardcore fans leading to a continued drop in attendance and a poor product.

With the PR nightmare that was the Mike Kelly saga, I would hope our board would not be THAT dumb (hey lets be honest, they're pretty fricken dumb) to hire Tillman, but I wouldn't put anything past them.

It would not be a popular hiring and would give me great cause for concern, so if they're gauging fan reaction (like the Buck situation) then tread carefully BoD...tread carefully.

The only reason to fire a GM midseason is to stop a guy going crazy gutting a team to desperately try and turn things around. I don't see Mack doing that so there is absolutely no reason to do a mid season firing that will accomplish precisely nothing.

Great, bring back Lyle Bauer who said publicly in Calgary a year or so ago that he'd hire Mike Kelly back. Then Eric Tillman, a guy who assaulted his teenage babysitter, thinks his **** don't stink & traded Ricky Ray for nothing. He was hated in Edmonton. He'd be hated here.
