rebusrankin
Don't mind him as a change of pace back but hope we bring in lots of competition.
pigseye
Me too, Ford is an explosive back.
Jaxon
Looks like he tested free agency, and discovered that the Bombers were competitive for his services afterall. Sometimes the grass isn't greener elsewhere. I welcome him back to the fold, and look forward to watch him compete for a roster spot.
gbill2004
If I recall correctly, Ford was decent in pass blocking, correct?
Blueandgold
I'd be disappointed if he was our starting RB this year. Logan007
James
Ford is still a good RB... He's just not a marquee guy that you build a franchise around. I'm happy to have him back... Will be a good DI for us.
Noeller
I have no problem bringing him to camp, but if he's the starter out of camp, then we likely did something wrong in our recruitnig, or he had an absolutely lights out TC... Logan007
He's an ok rb. We need better.
SPuDS
Hes a solid back and a very good KR dont forget.. Blocking wise, i felt he was the best we had.. If he is our game day starter tho... Id agree, someone dropped the ball but it could be worse..
Jpan85
Not a pounder but give him a hole and he has the speed to out run guys. If a DI spot came down to him and Aroon Woods I would play Woods.
Mr. Perfect
Some food for thought regarding Will Ford, and I'm not advocating anything with this point other than it's just something to ponder, but in the nine games he started from the Banjo Bowl on, he averaged just over 62 yards rushing per game. While that doesn't sound like much, if you average that out over a full 18 games, that turns out to a season total of over 1100 yards rushing which would have been good enough for third in the league last year. rebusrankin
He's explosive but very much a home run hitter. Also misses a lot of blocks.
Guest
I'm okay with this signing, would like the Bombers to bring in someone else as well that's better, but Ford is serviceable. He's also good for those big, edge of your seat plays once and awhile.

bearpants
If I recall correctly, Ford was decent in pass blocking, correct? Better than Simpson but still needed a lot of work in that area.... he's a pretty good back but I anticipate lots of compitition
TrueBlue
Having him is probably only slightly better than not having him.

To me it's all about how those yards come. I'd rather a guy pick up 60 yards a game with a longest run being 15 yards than a guy picking up 60 yards when there's a 30 or 40 yard run in there. Just a preference on my part. Same reason I was less sold on Fred Reid compared with some people. Preference for someone who can grind it out at the position as opposed to the big play guy. gbill2004
I agree. I prefer a guy who consistently gets 5 yards per carry and minimal long runs vs a guy who goes for 1, 2, 1, 1, 3, 1, 40, even though their average YPC look the same. It's much easier to convert on 2nd and 5, compared to 2nd and 8.

On short yardage too, you want someone who can tough out yards, especially close to the goal line. So many times last year we'd be 2nd-and-3, 2nd-and-2, we'd run against a stacked box and fail to convert. Logan007

The o-line still has to not let guys get a hit on the rb in the backfield and the playcalling might not want to telegraph it so much. The Bombers always ran on 2nd and short and the defense always knew it was coming and always made the stop. johnzo
