Charles Roberts To Be Inducted Into Bomber Hof

Featured Replies

Cool! Great to hear he will be in attendance, I had this funny feeling he was never coming back to Winnipeg for some reason.

Charles Roberts! my first ever jersey!

Awesome, Will be cool to see Chuck in town and hear what he's been up to. I'm sure that he'll be disappointed to know that The Charley has closed and he can no longer enjoy their fabulous VLT lounge while sipping on a rye and coke in between cigarettes!

Love that guy!

Once again Duncan O'Mahoney is stubbed.   :(

ftfy

I can't believe they actually tracked the guy down. He'd dropped off the face of the earth, and wanted no part of being found. Tait was like a bounty hunter trying to get to him, and no luck. Glad this worked out....

It's well deserved for Roberts. When is he being honoured?

It's well deserved for Roberts. Tough as nails that guy.

Wednesday, September 18th, along with past President George Graham and media friend Ralph Warrington during the Football Club’s annual Legacy Dinner.

Yeah, saw that, thanks. Missed it the first time.

Listening to the Charles Roberts conference call, and he's sounding great. Working for the U.S. Postal Service in California. #Bombers

It's not as flashy as cupcakes, but it's good work.

gosh he was good. defenders would only catch a glimpse of him behind the O-Line, then when they shed their block he was already somewhere else and they never saw him go...

The best was when he'd go into a big clump of linemen, disappear, and somehow come shooting out the other side

Watchin Roberts run when we had big guys like Bobo and Sheridan was always fun. He'd just disappear behind some of those guys. And a tough little bugger too. He ran like a much more powerful back, he didn't get his yards by running away from guys, he went right up the middle and just made people miss. Really makes you wonder how good he could have been if he took things as seriously as a guy like Stegall did. It's no secret that Roberts really did get by on his god given natural talent.

When they talk about players that are "worth the price of admission", Charlie is at the top of that list. It was worth going to a game to watch him, and him alone.

Guy was fantastic. Should be in the CFL HOF already, he's been retired more than 3 years.

Roberts was my first favorite player I ever had as a kid. He was the first jersey I ever purchased and he was kind enough to sign it before a game for me. I know things didn't end well between him and the Bombers but I'm glad he's coming back for the proper sendoff he deserves.

It's good to hear he's doing well. Definitely have to get tickets for that game.

Things that make a guy feel old for 1000 please

Did anyone hear him on the radio yesterday? I only caught the tail end of it.

I must have blinked.....I missed it.

My idol as a kid. I was a shorter shifty running back as a kid and I tried to emulate Sir Charles game. Probably the best first cut runningback i've ever seen. Yes that includes NFL...

You got it.
