Argos at Bombers- Looking ahead

Curious if anyone's heard who's been taking starting reps so far at QB, defense gonna have to play the way they played that second half the entire game vs Toronto.

What is the point of Hazen?

Why would you not add another WR?

Can somebody in the media have the balls to ask MOS why he thinks Cobb+Corcoran is actually ok.

Maybe those two can re-ignite the Brock Ralph/Aaron Hargreaves chemistry of 2009....lol...

Also - I think it's funny that this team had a "Ralph Brock" and a "Brock Ralph" on their roster. I am trying to think of other reverse combos but none come to mind. Poplawski Joe wasn't really a popular name...

Don't ask me which is his first name and which is his last name though...

Does Hazen not count as fresh blood?

Agree that another American receiver would make sense though. Looking forward to Kevens getting back on the roster

Amazing how a single practice turned Dru from "not ready to backup" to "ready to start"!

Yeah that was just a load of crap. For what its worth too..Wallace was fine to play. Not sure what the switch was for and ended up taking a guy away from the defence. I wanted to see Mazz but thats not way to do that. Should been subbed for elsbury if they wanted a look..then decide on the best

And then we go back with a canadian this week and instead of adding an actual import who could help on offence or defence..we add a rookie who's never played a snap of Canadian ball to basically just stand around all game and chase a few kicks...solid coaching indeed

Hence the losing spiral and worsening record and end reaults since 2022...last yr was early exit..this yr I woukdnt be surprised not even getting to the post season

No point...just an Osh preference...a WR to give Brown more options and all the help we can would be wise...or another guy for the defence to actually contribute..maybe the bench put a spark into Jenkins...but nope...add a plug who serves no real purpose

Would if it was say a guy who has played a bit before..here..or on another team...or a frighteningly good high upside prospect...but a raw rookie who's never taken a cfl snap...and really doesn't have any wow factor to him...just a typical osh blunder

There she be....Not sure the need to dress Hazen....Be nice to not add a 18th LB who likely plays zero snaps other than teams....If we were not gonna dress another DL guy sgould have dressed a WR to help DRU out

And korny....just why

But prettystandard fare...same ol same ol...no changes due to piss poor play....as expected

well I was going to be excited about dressing a 23 year old rookie LB... but then it occurred to me that he'll likely just play teams and hold his helmet the rest of the game...

Maybe Hazen is getting on to see if he has the chops to take Jones or Wilson’s job?

a guy can dream right?

You guys sure like to make the bottom of the roster moves into something more than what they are. SMH. How about we talk about the one roster change that really matters. Dru Brown will be starting and that is the single biggest and most meaningful roster change we have. Is this another OSH blunder? Honestly, 4 years of bitching about who we dress in the 52nd and 53rd roster spot like it really matters. It doesnt.

Nothing wrong with getting a look at a new guy. Our LBer crew has not been great. Not sure why everyone is against this move. It's needed. Some small picture thinking going on. Chances are he just plays teams this game as most young guys do in their first game. Dip a toe first, see what his in game compete level is. I get we want another receiver dressed and if we had a veteran that could come on and eat some of Cobb/Corcoran's snaps that would be ideal. Get to work Walters.

I disagree and here's why.... we have drafted Canadians high at linebacker and receivers we have not. We have some blue chip Canadians at linebacker but not at receiver.... thisnis big picture thinking.... use your Canadians at linebacker where you've spent your draft capital and use Americans at receiver.

This is big picture roster usage thinking.

Personally I’d do it the other way if there were a few Philpots lying around.

To play devils advocate this could be the move that allows that...Smith has looked very good in his defensive reps. Making him a full time starter and taking Wilsons job would likely require someone take Smiths ST reps...? Hazen could be getting a chance to show he's capable of doing that. We move on from Wilson....Smith is full time....extra american comes on for Wilson but he's a WR not a LB....

Basically..yeah

And isnt a bottom of roster move at all...essentially he is taking Jenkins spot...a guy who was a starter..and or played a rotational role..as well as played special teams..Hazen is yeah..a bottom of roster addition for sure and should only play st if at all...so we vanquished a guy on defence for a rookie who won't play before ayers...Smith and Shay...its a pointless add anyway u slice it and shows osh has a real knack for stupid moves. As we all know how impossible it is for established backups/1st or 2nd yr guys to get a snap is...why would Hazen before them? And if he did...im sure the guys who been here for yrs jow..know and have played in the system and aren't green as **** would really be impressed

Jenkins back on...one of Singer or Womack...even one of the dbs we are carrying for whatever reason who could actually step in and take Kelly's snaps from him would make more sense...but nope

Osh is just clueless

Sadly we have kept around nobody who can step up...or step in...or someone...I won't say names isnt willing to let them..so he backfills the roster with garbage and rides what little he has left of "starters" into bloody nubs

Its the cfl ...roster sizes dictate starters will have to play teams...Wilson plays teams...but Smith does need to play...but adding a nobody isnt necessary for it.

Jenkins played teams too...and can take reps on defence..Singer covered on kicks...also returns..and was best looking receiver in camp than anyone really..starters included...but let's run with 3 canadians..one who has been invisible in Neild and 2 others that woukd be hard pressed to make any other roster...thats the ticket to success

Where you are drafted at it 100% irrelevant. You place your weakest NAT starters at a place they can do the least damage if they are not up to snuff. We all THINK that Shay and Smith are blue chippers, but we don't know that. Fielding your best 24 does not follow draft rankings. PERIOD.

Seems like after this week that the Bombers and Argos should talk about Jake Herslow. Guy came on strong for us last season and picked up a nick coming out of camp and now is Kahmann-Blocked from our game day roster.

Got a spare National Safety or WIL?

Jenkins played his way off the roster. Simple as that. I suspect that one our IMP Lbers is close to that as well and that is why we dressed Hazen so he can get his feet wet. Sometimes today's roster move is more about next week or the week after. Everyone just wants to hand Smith/Shay a starting job and they haven't earned it. The irony is that we could do that and then people would ***** about too many NAT starters. The goal posts are consistently moving. This weeks goal post move comes courtesy of the 53rd roster spot. This game won't be decided by that move. We need our starting players to play well. They do that and the 53rd spot is completely irrelevant, they don't play well some of you guys are willing to give them a free pass and blame the 3rd backup IMP LBer for the loss. SMH. Crissakes you are mad because Jenkins isn't on the roster? My god, the guy was awful.

I have to admit i would like to see Singer at that 5th spot..just to see what he could do. Singer and Cobb as backup..could be a decent 5th.

A CFL team does not roster 53 players.

You need to dress a guy to play ST to get his feet wet in anticipation of removing a vet LB and starting a young Canadian which would then require another lb to play teams? That makes no sense.

We're complaining because we are rostering 2 receivers in Cobb and Corcoran who make a minimal contribution at best, when we could roster another american wr who may contribute more. We're also complaining because we're giving regular reps to a guy in Kelly who has shown time and time again that he's not good enough instead of putting in an americain sb.

hoping Dru can bring an angle that can push the ball down field, Dru is more athletic with his legs than Zach, hopefully that plays large for tomorrow as Toronto is down Judge, Brady should benefit as well.
