Clercius is a pending FA - I would not be shocked if he's not back.

Wallace is also a pending FA so he could very well walk as well.

Demski is about to turn 33 - he's got a lot of miles on him so I'm not sure how long you can count on him as a starter. They will ride him until after it's too late though.

Eli has started 2 games in a row but this regime has shown they do not have faith in him so I'm not sure I would pencil him in as a starter for next season.

Yes, my list is assuming they get those guys resigned. Could also see a couple guys from the NFL come up to help the Oline...Manu being the most likely imo.

Cline as well - has not signed anywhere since Miami released him so he's another potential NFL option.

My concern in dropping Demski is that we have nothing at National WR behind him.

Well I don't think we'll drop him. Just a matter of production decreasing, and availability being basically week to week. He's old now. We need to replace what he was in the offense with someone whether they are Canadian or American.

The "problem" with Demski is that he's a bit of a jack of all trades .. a receiver / running back hybrid .. dynamic, versatile but also older and his playing style lends itself to wear and tear. Father Time catches everyone but he's still productive, could easily have a role on this team but you're not going to find a 1:1 replacement for a guy like him (and with Walters draft record, ever?).

The CND content isn't as bad as some are making it seem. If they can scoop up another FA starter or two it's plenty fine imo. Assuming they start the minimum amount.

Brady
Demski
Clericus
Kradmi
Smith
Eli
Wallace

But the biggest question mark is Collaros. I know people don't want him back, but the reality is, if he wants to come back MOS/KW will 100% be bringing him back. If that's the case, I think they should let Brown walk. If Collaros decides to hang them up, you keep Brown. #1 round picks are worth a quality backup QB.

Oline is a bit of a rough spot. Could be losing 2 "starters". Bryant shouldn't be back next year, or if he is, can't be playing T. Nuef may also say bye bye.
I'm still not convinced that Clericus cant be a very useful slot rec, not completely replacing Demski, but he could be used more. Though I think Demski is back anyways.

On defence, we need at least 1 Edge rusher, 1 LB and 1 DB and completely new mentality. I would move on from Willie and Nichols.

This draft they should be looking at guys who could start next year. No more projects/special teamers who may turn into something one day.

We have a good pool of NI talent, but we aren't using them well and a bunch are pending free agents.

Either waiting and will be here for next camp, or might be yet another guy who gets caught in the XFL trap.

IMO Demski isn't worth his contract and is in the way of giving younger players a spot. Not having anyone better at the moment shouldn't = keeping Demski. FA Canadian could take his roster spot and they don't need to be a receiver.

Love Demski but he's not worth that salary.

3) Tyson Philpot, Montreal Alouettes (N)

Hard money: $275,000
Maximum value: $284,500

6) Nic Demski, Winnipeg Blue Bombers (N)

Hard money: $240,000
Maximum value: $255,000

Yup, it's time for the Corcoran-Cobb era to begin in earnest. Poplawski-House, Hargreaves-Ralph eras, look out!

Cobb and Corcoran make Matt Debuc looks like prime Poplawski.

That's a lot of role players, nice pieces, not game changers outside of Brady. If we use him for anything other than blocking.

And most of those guys are 30+ next season already.

Yea...I don't mind if some of them stick around but certainly we need to upgrade on a few of them to be contenders....and those are the guys identified as players we should keep and it's not a very long list.

Demski needs to take a big shave in salary.

With any common sense at all in management, the coaching and general management decks will be cleared and new faces will inspire players to stay, and maybe even play better.

I don't see that happening. O'shea and Walters will be here. Maybe they let go a coordinator and a couple of position coaches. I could see a new AGM and scouts. I don't get the sense they are panicking, yet.

That was another frustrating game to watch. Another good half until the SK kick return and subsequent TD. I had a (bad) gut feeling at that point especially since SK was to start the second half with the ball. And, sure enough the Bombers did it again!

I had a quick look at some of the simple team stats and kept it to the West only. So, the Bombers are 5th in points scored per game and 4th in points allowed per game. And, come in 5th in point differential at -39. This is definitely not a winning combination. The Bombers are basically where they should be in the standings. I hate to say it but it might be a "good" thing if they finish last in the West and out of the playoffs. Hopefully, the required (IMO) shakeup will then occur.

Sorry, not with this group running the team. They could all sign lifetime contracts even if they finish last.

It's not to the point of a full on rebuild. Just needs some strategic changes. Like they're at worst and 8 win team with a few things going different could have won double digits.

There's no need for over reactions. Just make some smart moves in the offseason.

The few things..were a hc who didnt have his head up his Osh...I mean ass

Our core has aged out and we have the wrong coaching staff and GM to implement youth. Sorry but it's time to blow it up.

Gm/scouting has brought in young guys..its the coach who refuses to play them or just cuts them...and ones who luck out..or of late have the misfortune of being kept dont play ever or get reps to develop and have a true gauge of what they have..or dont have..good football players dont have to sit on a pr for a yr to "develop" and then get a chance a yr..2 later while older and or lesser players play and fail...thats just the noneense narrative or HC peddles

Oh I don't think it's as dire as all that. We might have some linebacker options in house already, maybe play FA for DL. Canadians you address through the draft.

Again some better decisions throughout the year this team could have won 10 or 11 games. It's not like we're Ottawa here.

Griffin and Smith are as solid as can be in the league...its the Jones and Wilson part that need to be addressed..

It's the CFL, smart decisions can fix this.

With smart people..we have a key position in leadership where the smarts i dont think ever were there...had a king size horseshoe up his Osh tho..

Yup..our biggest hurdle is the mindset to never deviate how ratio is decided..it has been the same allocation for what...over a decade? Fit yiur roster and ratio around best on best talent u have..not determine a ratio beforehand and try to make it work..cause u get a degraded shallow roster like us

This spring we were dead set to have 3 canadian wr even tho it wasn't required..and an import center...and took 13..and 15 games to finally realize we played garbage over better players

We still have not figured out the dime back thing yet either..2 yrs running now that Kelly has zero business being out there

Looking at the CFL stats package and...

Looks like Collaros will end up middle of the pack in qualifying QBs BUT #2 overall in passes 20+ yards downfield by percentage completion... which is something that I didn't expect going into this year.

Even more surprising, even with that 1 game against Montreal where he had 1 reception for 2 yards, Singer has entered the top 40 Receiving yards leaders. There are 6 players averaging more than his 77.5 YPG ( T. Philpot 113.1, Snead 92.1, ,KSB 91.5, K Johnson 83, and Coxie 77.8). He leaders the Bombers in Receptions 20+ downfield with 9, and there are only 13 players above him with double digits in that category.

Making sure he sticks around and is happy should be the #1 priority.

Yeah...the fact he was parked on the pr for no reason other tha osh bias is criminal..easily woulda been r.o.y

He's gonna have over 500 yards in 7 games played...but hard to not figure that the pac 12 yardage leader in 2022 while not even breaking top 5 in receptions that yr could have some.sucess..considering he showed it all tc

Just chew on this..Cobb/Corcoran/Neild...34 games played...695 yards total between them

Singer..6 games to date..465 yards...and tell me our staff can recognize/identify talent

I'm not fooled, 695 is bigger than 465.

Wait, games played count?

So I think they can recognize talent.... They did afterall have singer as the guy they kept around and eventually put in... The problem is they won't make changes if it means someone losing their job. That's a different problem.

I agree..yet kinda disagree...Look at sam situ for 3 yrs as an example...or center this yr..was an open competition and elsbury isnt/wasn't the better

And really what other HC would have had a Corcoran and Cobb combo as starters right outta the gate. ..heck who would have rostered one of em..let alone 2

So I think if you put em in a room with no prior relationships or biases they'd mostly make the right decisions. It's the biases and relationships that cause the bad decisions

Doesn't Eli/Elsbury fly in the face of that though? The have a pre-existing relationship with Eli plus he has the right passport but they went with the unproven American.

Unless the pre-existing bias is that they believed Eli wasn't cut out to be a starter but would bring up their ability to assess talent.

I am convinced Eli is still being punished for the antivax stuff

Why keep him around 5 years later then?
