25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread

Is this ever a guy we should take a run at? I really like Pokey as a receiver but not sure he's a 1A Superstar guy... Would you ever take a run at Hatcher as your #1 and then have Pokey and Demski as 2/3?

I hate change. This is going to take me like a year to get used to.

Can confirm - ran it through Google Translate and this is what came back:

  • Brady is the most complete running back in the CFL full stop. Rushing, receiving, blocking, no one does it all as well as he does.   Now that doesn't automatically make the contract he got w

McManis hasn't agreed to terms in Hamilton yet has he?

No room for him really but he's a baller.

I highly doubt the Bombers would do this... but I would drop Jones and Wilson in a heartbeat if we had a chance to sign McManis... I'd start McManis at MLB and Ayers at WIL... the money would be close to even that way and the production would probably be better

Nice add for Hamilton but they've lost 3 olineman, two quality wr and their starting rb. Behind the 8 ball right now.

Hope they go 0-18

Ted Goveia backed up the Brinks truck last year (mostly for our guys lol) and this is what happens the next year after a lot of times. Wynton is a vast improvement for them though. Gonna be tough sledding for BLM's muscle cream bill this year tho.

Riders sign Josh Woods LBer formerly of BC Lions. Big downgrade there.

McManis definitely an improvement BUT I don't think it makes up for the downgrade in other areas in the hammer.....AND I don't care how much muscle cream BoLevi uses....I think this is the year his arm falls off and sitting on the panel will start looking awfully good

Weird take given our record over the past several years. Do you really believe that we have a bunch of players in our locker room that didn't like winning? I don't. That's a massive reach you guys and S27 are trying to make now. We weren't some last place team hanging onto aging vets who didn't care about winning. That is complete rubbish created by fans taking it over the top,

Given how O'Shea hung onto players that were close to useless to the detriment of the team, the message had to be that players could play very poorly and still keep their jobs so long as they kissed up. Word gets around.

Well that is certainly one take on it. I don't believe it is at all factual, so I will agree to disagree.

It's the degree of certainty with which people in this board speak, in regards to things that may or may not have happened... That amazes me day in and day out.

Yeah...goes both ways too...with even more out in space takes of certainty with zero potential inside knowledge..minimal football I.Q...or actual knowledge of the inner workings and how organizations generally do things is beyond amazing...just saying

There is a lot of speculation and opinion around here trying to present itself and fact and insider knowledge. Some of it is closer to the truth than others, but at the end not a single one of us knows much about what goes on behind closed doors at PAS. Every team, management group etc has different dynamics/power structures that none of us are privy too. It's why we have the endless back and forth of who is in charge MOS or KW. None of us with the exception of the scouts, Wadzilla and the coaching staff know the answer to that. Every team is different. Every management group is different, so those that may have past experience with a different group may assume the same model is in place with this one....and it could be vastly different. That's coming from someone with years of corporate and then private business ownership experience to glean from.

I think you're looking for the word 'conjecture'....the board is full of it....I don't mean 'full of it'' in the derogatory sense....although some takes come close to it....How some fans can claim they are 'privy' to inside operations is amazing...In the end it ends up being 'controversial' and that's what this board and others feed off...It's all good and I'm sure there's enough intelligent people on here that can sift through the commentary and pass judgement on what is believable and just isn't.....

I DO have some very valuable inside, privy-type info.

When going to the privy, doing so inside is waaaay better than outside.

You may find that controversial, but it is entirely true.

In general, I don't like that insider info type of thing. 99% of the time, it's BS. 1-2 people on here do get some, but the nature of football is that you might get it, and it might be true. Then, 2 weeks later, it changes. If it's a week-old bit of info, it could go south very fast. Because I'm not involved in the follow ups, I generally disregard inside info.

People would be surprised by some of the types who lurk on here, or the relationships a few posters have with players, coaches, etc. I can speak to that from personal experience, and for an absolute fact. What people tell them with those relationships, I can't speak to.

Hell we have had players, players parents at very least post on message boards prior to this one so I doubt I'd be surprised by anything.

I'm 90% sure Glen Suitor reads these boards and uses it for his material prep.

Me too. I can also tell you for certainty that a lot of the inside info fed to fans is just for shits and giggles. Like Vega  used to tell me,  tell them what they wanna hear...that is how you get free beer. (He and a number of other Bombers were regulars at a bar i used to own). Fans would engage with them and ask them questions that weren't really questions but beliefs they wanted affirmed. The guys would go with it, order a round on the poor guy, then proceed to tell him some tall tale then laugh their asses off about it later.

Vega told me straight up the only ppl who will ever know what really goes on inside our room is us.

yes you would be shocked who may "peruse" let alone post under some funky alias

I also certain some of the CFL media types do get some their talking points here

this is awesome.

I wish that coach call-in shows worked like this.  If some fan wants to talk out their ass on the coach's show, first they need to buy the coach a beer.

It would be a better product from every perspective.

Ill tell you that there is nothing a pro football player likes more than free beer from a fan.

Absolutely, the level of football fan knowledge here is high. If I were a journalist covering the Bombers this would be must read stuff.

shoot if we fed mos a couple beers the show would actually be worth listening to, guarantee it’d get entertaining.

MOS can put them back. Might need to take up a collection. He's no Chris Walby but still...

Walby's bar tabs were so high it just became cheaper to open his own bar..lol
