bearpants Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago At this point, I think we've brought back the right vets and released/not signed the right players... looking at our list of FAs, there aren't any more "must signs" on the list... Makonzo is an intriguing player that I would like to actually see play... but other than him, no one on that list needs to be back Noeller, Goalie, HardCoreBlue and 4 others 6 1

Makonzo hasn’t played in a long time and when he last played he got hurt, because of his Canadian status I’d prob bring him to camp but at this point not expecting him to stay healthy

The remaining guys aren't make or break, but it would be nice to have Makonzo back (as you said), Sterns, I'd take Lofton to battle at guard and push Vanterpool, as others have stated, I'd take Strevy back on a full-year IR-type deal to be a player-coach, and that's about it. I think you keep the phone handy for a guy like Bonds when he's healthy. If you end up in need of a DB, he's been good here in the past, and maybe Houston. But the internal work is basically done. Maybe you kick around extension offers to guys like Novak, Shay, Smith, Peterson, MCI, Clercius, etc. See if you can get a young guy to lock up cheap. 2 hours ago, Goalie said: Yup. Maybe you give the early trip to fa to guys like Vaughters, Kyrie, Strev, Schoen, Houston etc. Or maybe younger guy you want to move on from like Wheatfall. I really love Ayers upside and what he flashes. But his useage went down last year, and our Lbers/secondary/teams unit got deeper. I could see him being a sleeper cut. Don't want it to happen, but I could see some logic there. Piggy 1 and bearpants 2

Yeah i think we done on the retention, tho id like Makonzo As said I figured once we locked in what we felt necessary...have our budget put away for FA targets that Big Stan and WJ would be finally announced when we knew exactly where we'd be willing to go salary wise and neither was gonna hold our feet to the fire...just be fair 2 hours ago, wbbfan said: I agree they have done a great job of moving on from the right guys and locking up the right ones as well. Woodbey basically supplanted what they i think envisioned for Ayers...that being said he was hardly given a true chance either Piggy 1 and wbbfan 2
Goalie Posted 15 hours ago Report Posted 15 hours ago (edited) Ayers is a true linebacker and they had him playing on the DL. So id bring him back to compete at camp for a lb spot cuz dudes a special teams monster. Honestly at this point I’d let Kyrie go and have Woodbey and Shay take his spot and Ayers battle it out with Novak and Jones in the middle with Kramdi or smith maybe old man griffin and some rookies at SAM. Although Kramdi at safety intrigues me now. Personally I don’t think Tony Jones should be gifted his spot as he seems to lack something, I’m not sure what, perhaps being a fan since the lobendahn days I’m expecting more from the middle man. I dunno. I know tho. Lots of tackles. Yup. Lots after gaining 10 yards tho first. Edited 15 hours ago by Goalie Booch 1

I don't know where you get this Tony Jones makes a lot of tackles ... ten yards downfield business. Our problem was our offense. It cost us the season.

I really liked Ayers in his rookie year, and at a low salary I'd bring him back for his ST work, but realistically after 2 years if he hasn't been able to supplant WIlson then I don't realistically see him as being a starter anymore. I think Vanterpool is still a must sign, as both our LT and RT futures need to be in place this year. I am OK with Tony Jones coming back but I agree that recruitment needs to find our next MIKE asap. LB is the least of our concerns right now though. Sterns I wouldn't bother with, go FA and replace him, There are half a dozen guys who are as good or better that will be available for a similar price point and we really need to flip the script on our receiving corps and get some 50/50 ballers. Blue Bombers Re-Sign Kyrie Wilson - Winnipeg Blue Bombers Meh....Tho he did have a full season and was very solid but wasnt spectacular and I like this only if he is signed with intent of being depth/rotational as one of the DA's and not blocking one of the young Canadian LB's or Woodbey. Also if the designate him a Nationalized American and actually use as such.... Anything more than that and this is just dumb.....and if he and T.Jones are already ear marked as defacto starters regardless of how camp plays out....we just gonna be in the same cycle as previous last 3 yrs....and that just reeks of same ol same ol to me

Blue28 Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I am increasingly concerned that roster management and poor decision making will continue. Camp better not be a summer camp - and the Bombers better be prepared to move on from players during camp. Worse than 50/50 they wont. voodoochylde, Stickem, TBURGESS and 2 others 2 3

I have the same concern right from the extension of Osh....Walter's got rid of some the dead weight and garbage....but Osh also still has control of roster after that...and He runs camp...and picks his roster, and how it's used...Not sold on anything being different until I see it, and sadly right now not holding my breath on it wbbfan, Stickem and Blue28 3

rebusrankin Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Signing Wilson is a waste of many and it likely blocks Smith and Shay from getting needed reps. Bet both leave when they can. Why stay when you can sit behind declining aging vets. #OldBoysClubForever wbbfan 1
