I just retired in May and turned 80 in July so just enjoying the retirement and while I will always watch every Bomber game I can , and make sure I catch them here in Calgary and when they travel to Edmonton - if they lose I seem to be able to move on rather quickly these days. In the past I took the losses much harder than I do today - After all Life Does Go On! And given I am also a Chicago Bear Fan - I have much more to fret about!😁 .......I just turned 80 on June 29th......us boomers are getting a little long in the tooth...BUT I think hanging around on this site helps keep me youthful....Seen many cycles of ups and downs with the BigBlue ....As far as the wins and losses column ...it sure as heck great when we win ...when we lose I get a little dejected but recover quickly and hope to see some light at the end of the tunnel the next game....and just keep on keepin on HardCoreBlue, Booch, wbbfan and 2 others 4 1
johnzo Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago The way I look at it is that sports can make me happy, but sports is not allowed to make me feel sad or angry or disappointed or whatever for more than a minute or two. Picked up that attitude in 1996, when I was legit depressed for an entire year after both the Jets and Ottawa Rough Riders went away and people were talking about how the Hamilton Snow Bowl might be the last Grey Cup. There's lots of things to be miserable about, don't need to include my hobbies. Nowadays I'm just thankful for every kickoff. Respect to those whose passion for the blue runs deeper, though. rebusrankin, wbbfan, Goalie and 3 others 5 1

I don't see any gleaming 1957 Chevys on this year's Bomber team.

No team is a world beater this year and just need to get hot at the right time. Just to add to this because I was curious. The 2019 bombers limped into the playoffs with a 2-4 record after the banjo bowl. You never know. Edited 7 hours ago by blue85gold Added 2019 info Noeller and Booch 2

Maybe Zach is healthy in November and our opponents have shitty QB injury luck ... ESF is Collaros vs. Morgan, EF is Collaros vs. Powell, Grey Cup is Collaros vs. PJ Walker. I recognize that the team has really declined from its peak in 2021, and we ain't gonna power bully our way to a cup like we did that year unless things turn real awesome real fast ... but there's always the hope we can win a sneaky backdoor cup. The Roughriders backed into the Grey Cup in 2007 and there ain't no asterisks on their banners. Edited 7 hours ago by johnzo Bigblue204 and BigBlueFanatic 1 1

Lots of warning signs as well as red lights flashing that a playoff spot won't ultimately hide. 28 minutes ago, Noeller said: Literally nobody here thinks everything is alright... Goalie Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago (edited) If the bombers win the cup this year it wouldn’t surprise me. I think an 8 and 10 Calgary beat a 14 and 4 bombers one year. Why not again right then none of this really matters. And in the end sports don’t really matter. I mean it’s meant to be entertainment and a distraction to the day to day life. I don’t like that hockey mixes politics with hockey now. Same with nfl and cfl for that matter. They are there to take my mind off of real problems for 3 hours a week or 2.5 every other day in fall and winter not to remind me so do that and I’m happy. Winning is just extra. The grey cup drought was so long and then we won so quickly again that sometimes I think ppl forget how bad it was. I think for a moment after a dumb play or bad play or TD against or goal against I’m pretty pissed but by next play I’m good to go really. Hockey a bit more emotional as I find they tend to let goons kind of have there way with people and it’s almost like nobody paying to see Scheifele the star get hurt by the goon. It’s like cfl almost. I get most upset when Zach takes a head shot or late hit, I get real pissed when there’s no flag on the play. I don’t pay to see Streveler lol. I pay to see Zach. Allowing replaceable goons to injure star players is a problem in football and hockey. That lingers a bit but for the most part I shake off a loss or TD against or goal against or bad play pretty quickly. Why? Cuz it appears the players forget almost immediately so if the guys playing ain’t pissed why would I be really. Also manifestation is real and I feel if everyone is negative and down all the time the universe notices that and gives you more negativity to deal with. You gotta believe things will get better for the bombers and the world in general. Cuz you just have to believe that. Otherwise what’s the point. Edited 6 hours ago by Goalie

Guess you older guys are used to ppl shitting their pants like the bombers have done this season. Edited 6 hours ago by Goalie Piggy 1 and rebusrankin 2
