Bombers-RedBlacks Early Chat

Given our issues with bigger receivers, Geno Lewis concerns me for this game.

Any single one of their receivers on Jake Kelly or whoever we play at field corner is a bad time. I'm hoping Cam Allen comes on.  Kelly might be better off at field corner just given the task of

I think Vaval takes Bonds spot for this week at least.

cam allen imo. we’ve seen the last few weeks the importance of having at least a stop gap cover guy on the bench. be nice if makonzo was good to go. i don’t mind seeing more rope for kelly to learn and grow at S. I’d rather see woodbey, but having a bunch of rookies in their first couple games isn’t ideal.

Yeah I'd be surprised if Allen didn't get in. If not why is he here?

True...so we a 500 club last 3 playoffs inluding 22'..not sure why you wanted to start in 23'...not good enough...500 club this yr...and trending down...badly

Really should have been 10-8 last yr without that gift from God

So I guess 17-15...still...not good enough when the repeat reasons for failure keep occuring

I think we will be lucky to be .500 on the season.

We look like we're on the cusp of a big losing streaak with injuries staring to effect the lineup. Will Brady even make it to a thousand yards rushing under Hogan? We may not even have a thousand yard receiver. What happened to Wheatfall?

good lord- we are ******.  the GC looks like to be very unlikely this year.

what a ******* year to just drop off that cliff... FFS

It didn't have to happen. Very strange decision making by Walters refusing to spend any money & letting key playrrs walk like it;s no big deal when we all knew it was. Then blaming the CFLPA. When it comes to rsoer decisions, Osh is always being Osh.

I think he will get in, one way or another. I guess he is a pure safety - four years as a safety at Purdue, went to Broncos camp as a safety, played safety throughout camp and preseason here. Doesn't mean he can't play other DB spots (I'm sure he has lined up as a corner in his life) but it would not be his ideal spot.

That said, we don't need to start a Canadian at S. We could bring on Allen at S, move Holm to corner, Griffin to HB and play Kramdi at SAM. Kelly goes back to a 7th DB role.

I'd be a lot more comfortable with that than continuing to roll with Kramdi/Kelly at safety and moving Allen to CB or some schlub they sign off the couch.

Maybe woodbey to Sam, Griffen to halfback, Holm to corner.

This is actually a pretty big game this week…. A win and they have a stranglehold on at bar minimum a crossover a loss and the sky is falling. I still think they can cobble something together and get Scheon and Ontaria Wilson back later in the season.

lol...pretty much..... Ball...Hallett.....Kelly...very redundant and really serves no purpose....only 1 should be getting any rotation on defense....the other 2 be better served with say Cobb as another back up receiver and returner....and give Bailey his shot....if he shows he has use as a rotation guy then thats a win....But Osh loves to roster under performing and irrelevant Canadians for whatever reason....Drop Thomas...Ball...Hallett for guys who may actually add something other than 2 guys getting  6 to 8 reps a game chasing down kicks would be nothing but beneficial...and Thomas' contributions...or lack there of

I don't think Ball was even playing on special teams last game from what I could tell. I could have missed him getting on for some snaps but I know he was on the sidelines for kick coverage late in the game.

Among other things, I really don't love Vaval playing corner and returning kicks... That seems like a recipe for mediocrity (at best) at two positions... Dude is gonna be gassed.

he was on a few snaps early on...as saw him....but basically just taking up space...didnt do much and had zero impact

Just a waste of a spot

nah...thats no biggie...Be more concerned of it was  a staring receiver....but lotsa guys have pulled double duty doing that before...not uncommon

I just don't think he the best option tho this yr yet in the backfield....but maybe this is his chance and with reps and learning as he goes he gets better and better....thats how you develop young talent and let em earn their chops...Osh forced to do so as we really have nobody...only way we get new blood integrted...by season ender injury or a guy moves on....

Vaval looks athletic as hell back there but needs some coaching up on technique for sure. Maybe JY can get him there.

No changes on O and 9 starting Canadians ( 8 if you don’t include MCI). Allen appears to be backing up Kramdi. Vaval starting. No other changes. Don’t need Thomas starting but there he is. 5 safety’s is insane. 3 won’t get a rep but then you think maybe take a guy off and put a guy on O but then you look and you see. Ok Cobb so what’s the difference. None are getting reps. But thought you could get a global on also so why not Bailey instead of one of the 3 Canadian safety’s who won’t play.

I'm expecting a monster game out of Brown.  It may rival Dunigan's 713 yard performance.

Plus he’s a terrible DB.  Are we a developmental team or are we trying to win?

No Woods is stupid. You’d think with the secondary in the state it is they’d want as much pressure as possible from the DL

We need Ayers to take up a DI spot for special teams despite also dressing a ton of Canadians (Shay, Smith, Hallett, Ball) to only play teams.

Developmental.... Looks like a tear down AND all part of the plan to secure that no 1 draft spot in 26'...This team is hooped with all indicators pointing in that direction....Brown spanking us tomorrow will be the final humiliation......................................

It would be kinda justified also. I mean like I said in another part, part of me wants Dru to light us up.  I think tho the real test tomorrow will be our O vs their D, both are not good. If our O can’t do **** tomorrow, then it’s truly time for real changes. Starting with Certainly not the immortal one, Jason Hogan.
