2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season

From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes.  And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock un

John Murphy. Same dude who was here with Mike Kelly right. Thought the talent that camp was outstanding but thought Murphy was not a good dude.

Here comes my nice comment about the mafia for the year.

I’d rather see us be bad, with jake/kola and the rest of mos old boys club and roster management, than see the likes of kelly or chris jones running a team with a bunch of guys who are dirty on the field and bad off it.

Don't forget it was John Murphy, also, who got into it with the fans at that one Argos/TiCats game. No doubt inebriated fans were as much to blame, but..... ...

A guy like Murphy who can find talent is a valued commosity. At one time, he was considered the next up & comer for CFL management & his career went sideways. Had Murphy got along with people on the teams he worked for then he'd have already been a GM by now. However, his personanlity & actions have rubbed so many CFL people the wrong way over tyhe years that he doesn't even get consideration for any CFL GM job that comes up anymore. Actions & words have consequences.

Yes, forgotten is how we are 1000x more classy as an organization both on the field and off since the mafia came to town.

yeah...prior to that for a good while we were a joke...but we have a solid foundation and way we operate now...so would take a supreme blunder and hires of epic lunacy to destroy that now

I begrudgingly and angrily agree. 🙂

Mike Kelly says "call me and we can chat".

Has there been a change by the CFLPA?? Veterans are signing 2 & 3 year extensions. Cam Lawson & Ontaria Wilson here, QB Davis Alexander in Montreal. Bo Levi MItchell in Hamilton. A little bit of stability is a good thing.

Guys on 3 years are taking advantage of the guaranteed salary in year 3 provision of contracts that came into effect a couple years ago. It's why we couldn't cut ZC this year if we wanted to. He has 250k or something around there guaranteed. A two year contract is just as likely as a one year now if the player is established and paid market value. The one year deals will still be the norm for rookies and upcoming players. Nothing has really changed except the 3 year deals. Wilson on a 3 year deal likely has guaranteed money in year 3. If we cut him in camp this year we have to pay him whatever was guaranteed in year 3.

argos get quick to be the new dc. I like quick, but he’s pretty old for a guy with soo little dc experience. I’m surprised they didn’t promote eiben.

Assumption here....but Eiben leaving seems a lot like hurt feelings when he didnt get the HC gig.

This is insane.... Who in Toronto cares enough about the Argos to do this???

idk it looks to me like they have been none committal to him. The co dcor thing last year when he did most of the work and play call was strange.

Bluto has been awful quiet lately...

Threatened to choke him with a scarf, no doubt....

Why in the hell would Cameron Dukes out of anyone in the CFL would be the one receiving death threats?   Unless he overheard a drunk fan saying something lame to him in a game and is blowing up something small into something big.

This behaviour would be expected in Regina & not Toronto.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it was tied to gambling. Lots of stories of athletes getting threats because some ******* missed his parlay.

Every pro league has tied themselves to gambling. When the Liberals apprroved single betting on games back 5 or 6 years ago, it was forecast that each CFL eam would reap a windfall of a million dollars a year minimum. I've never heard if that's true because the CFL never wants to talk about gambling.

Yup, athletes and officials have seen a huge increase in that sort of thing as betting has become a more mainstream part of sports.
