How so? How is it clumsy and unprofessional. What does that even mean. His contract has expired. The season is over.

Hogan's gone. It couldn't be more apparent. Several media reports from several media people and teams reporting that the Bombers have asked permission to talk to members of their staff about the job. I don't expect the Bombers to fly a banner behind a plane announcing it. They are classier than that. They are not doing this for optics. To do such a thing would be absolutely moronic and unprecedented in pro sports really.

How is it apparent? Until an official announcement comes down the pike, nothing has changed.

He’s done. I mean how many insiders need to say it.

This is Mike O'Shea we're talking about. How many times in the past did he give a big F U to fans & media because he was stubborn? Until it actually happens, nothiung has changed.

That depends whether he is under contract for next year or not. If he is it is odd they haven't fired him before looking to interview other people. If he is not then there is nothing unprofessional about it at all. They need not make any statement on any coach on an expiring contract. Should they do it anyway though? I would if I were leading the organization...but that's just my opinion.

Farhan said he expects changes to the Bombers O coaches. Interviewing OCs tells me when kyle and Osh did the exit meetings, the  consensus among the offensive players on the team was hogan sucked. Like Zach if you listened to him at the grey cup, he basically fired hogan. Like it was obvious. Some of the things he said and even after like they ran plays in camp they never ran again. They didn’t have a go to play that they were the best at. When they needed 4 or 5 yards, you should probably be good at something and they weren’t, Zach said it, Brady hinted at it,  Maybe 2 3 good O games all year, Hamilton Edmonton and maybe BC. Maybe BC

Im not sure they announce assistant changes until all of them are announced together. Should they say hogan is done or demoted? I think you can’t demote him tho

I mean maybe it’s not just hogan either on the O staff. I’ll bet JJ won’t be back either. Not sure who else tho. I’d expect Oline coach to stay but everyone else. I’m not sure.

hell Brady and nic might have said if hogans back I’m out of here. Would not surprise me.

That's actually crazy. I'm not sure I've ever been part of any team in any sport that didn't have a go to play.

Maybe they told Hogan that they will be looking for a new OC and that if he wanted to stay with the Bombers he could have his old job back. His decision.

His old position isn't vacant though - Andre Bolduc was hired as his replacement so what do you say to him?  Sorry, you're out of a job because Hogan sucked at his?

"So that's it? So long and good luck?"

"I don't recall saying good luck"

Yep.

We had go to plays, the problem is, it's the same go to play that lapo installed in 2019. Smash and drive passing concept, with a play action and a half roll out. Without Lawler, we don't have the wideout who can run the shallow corner well enough. Lawler could beat his man with his get off and break. That meant he was open and still had a ton of room on the sideline. Guys like Wheatfall might get open, but by the time they do with just speed and not the polished route running, they are too close to the sideline. With Lawler, Zach could either throw a very safe pass to the sideline and let him run it down, or if the DB is cheating or trailing, he could lob it and let Kenny run under it. Very similar to the Dagger variation we ran, where Schoen would go on a deep in route, and Lawler would go on a deep out route (Instead of a post). Where even if we didn't get guys open, zach would roll out the rest of the way, drawing the D to him, then hitting the come back from schoen or lawler.

We used to have lots of go-to plays. Slip screens, bubble screens, Fake bubble jet sweep, etc. The whole play action jet sweep used to be our bread and buter as much as the run was. Most of that stuff has been gone for 2 seasons.

Everything our offence has done since 21 has been continually devolving. Buck took the training wheels off our offence, let zach go wild with deep shots, and showed great promise in game plan development with some tremendous screen pack based games, pa, layering, and route developement. But since then, we've only lost what we succeeded at.

It’s weird but the first part of your sentence where it ends at sister automatically gets me thinking of Roughrider fans for some reason.

Oh the whole thing got me thinking of Ride fans! 😂

Pretty risky to keep the guy on. Think you just have to thank him for his effort and move on.

Creates too much tension. Better to make a clean break.

Better for both parties really. I can`t imagine a guy being told he wasn`t good enough for the job resuming a lesser job under his replacement. I think that would eat at a person.
