You can only play the teams you are scheduled against. It's a long season and every team is going to have peaks and valleys. Bombers haven't been world beaters but they've been able to pull together a few results. That 3rd loss against Calgary really sucked though because it gave a away a lot of agency the team had.

Being only a game behind Sask with 3 head-to-head and a half game back of Calgary would feel far better that what we are looking at now. Win out at home though and at least one road game out east and things will be looking pretty rosy at the end of the year.

Our QB is serviceable, and there is some good talent here. We can't expect a first place team every year.

serviceable is a far cry from top tier, and still we don’t have the ability to add a bunch of players mid season. how would you retool mid season? placing each year isn’t really to do with a mid season retool or an off season one either

I don't expect to have a top tier team/QB every year, it's not realistic. I do think they will make the playoffs this year.

After the next 3 weeks we will know where we stand compared to teams above .500. I bet it's worse than how we compare to teams below .500.

honestly idk. the ldc/bib is heavily skewed towards a split. the only firm statement i see is if some one sweeps. other wise i expect us to be in a similar position in 3 weeks.

Id say we have a 80% chance of being 1-2, a 5%chance of going 0-3, a 5% chance of 3-0 and a 10% chance of 2-1.

7 teams are with in 3 games right now. if we go 0fer we are still in the play off picture. if one of the 3 win teams goes 0 fer their season is over. if the riders go 0 fer they still are in the hunt for a home play off game.

When we played them isn't what I was looking at. I'm saying that after half a season, we haven't beaten a current +.500 team. It doesn't matter if they were +.500 when we played them, especially in our first game.

This also doesn't make sense.     We have not played Hamilton or Saskatchewan as of yet.     The only other team that is over .500 is Calgary who we could not beat.

Your statement only has merit had we played and lost to Saskatchewan and Hamilton.

MOS and KW have eight straight 10+ win seasons (with a shot at a 9th), 6 straight WF trips, 5 straight Grey Cup berths with two Grey Cup wins. The team has sold out the first 6 home games with the 7th getting close. Yeah, we're frustrated with both of them but it would be a total surprise if either is let go.

No matter how many...or few...years I have left I will fondly remember the last 6+ years of Bomber football. For as grateful as I am for what management was able to accomplish I am equally as disgusted by the Cup game decisions that played a not insignificant role in dropping 3 in a row and the off season/roster decisions that are plaguing them in a year where they're hosting the Cup...especially if they flame out early.

One can be appreciative of past accomplishments while still being fed up with recurring tendencies and exceptionally poor choices. It's not easy to reinvent yourself or change your ways especially if that past pattern of behaviour has proven successful but sure as God made little green apples, a man that can't change his mind can't change anything...and Osh doesn't seem capable of changing his mind/ways.

That being said...I suspect you're right...especially with continued fan support.

I'm also prepared to be completely wrong and gladly watch them take charge the 2nd half of the season and walk away with it all. In which case...statues for everyone!

I agree that 1-2 is most likely. That would make us 1-5 against +.500 teams & those are the teams we will meet in the playoffs. Yes... I said playoffs. IMO we get third if BC doesn't learn to play D and the cross over if they do.

Hamilton might not be better than .500 when we play them. Their splits at home and vs the west are bad as well. Bc was above .500 when we beat them as well.

I actually think Hamilton is the most likely to win for us. They are 2-2 at home and 2-4 vs the West. While we are 2-3 on the road, we are also just 3-3 vs the West.

With all that said, though, since the schedule is so poorly balanced, it is really hard to place value on the strength of schedule and record vs X situation. So damn many home and away series, season series wrapped up in 1/3 of the year, 2 away games in 5 days, type of situations.

I think the road to us winning 2 of 3 would likely start with a blowout in the LDC. If we get slapped and SSK hangs a big number, they might have a considerable hangover in the BJB and struggle on O, giving us a chance to finally answer back for being punched in the mouth. Then, if we roll that into some momentum in Hamilton, we could thread the needle and turn lemons into lemonade. I think that would likely require some tough changes after the LDC, though.

I think the likely case is that we get swept, and that's the wake-up call to bring some urgency to Hamilton. Our "one week at a time" thing went from playing each game like the play offs to preping for each game like its week 1. And the previous games review went from not getting too big a head from winning most weeks to writting off loses cus hey it's a new week and we just go 1-0!

I can see a sweep by us possible...dont think Ssk is as good as what is being said, and they got physically wooped last week, so will be feeling it

A split is historically reasonable, and possibly the likely result, but also being swept and looking somewhat bad and weak in both is highly likely and I say that as have zero faith in our coaching at moment and how we go about things.

The saving grace tho I think is that Mace to me is somewhat a doofus, and luckily a worse coach than Osh...and that team is still undisciplined and for most part believe their hype and act like assbags on the field

We have the pieces here, and solid vet leadership but we need to figure out how to use the pieces....funny gut feeling but truly think warts and all...we take both

I think 2-1 in the next 3 is very realistic.  I don't think that either Saskatchewan or Hamilton are teams we cannot beat. We will have to bring our A game though.

Agree....and do we catch lightening in bottle again and take all 3?....possible...I like how ZC played and what they did with him.....the lack of a legit WR who he would continually risk poor throws to has made him be more cerebral and surgical....may be to our benefit now BO seems healthy

To me we have talent inhouse here already...tho a small few lil tweeks/adds would do us wonders, it's in my opinion a matter in how we are coached and prepared and utilize what we have to the best ability....thats where I have some doubts as we suffer badly in that regard...but there been some signs of adaptation...so....

Riders got exposed by Calgary. Hopefully bombers take that template and expose them also. Riders tend to start off strong but the old saying the season begins Labour Day , well they historically tend to suck after. Don’t see why things would be different this year.

yup...agree...and for all the criticism I give Osh I'd take him all day every day over Mace....guy not  good HC...Not currently anyway

I just think it’s no surprise really that the team with the healthy QB is leading the league and I think it’s just a matter of time before 40 year old Harris is carted off the field. I honestly thought he was injured against Calgary. They pulled him but he was definitely hurt and might still be. Hell does he even play this week.

I am thinking that if we do get a fully healthy Schoen and O. Wilson back that could be real game changers too.

I've been saying for a while that Sask isn't what their record indicates. They've skated by on some smoke and mirrors. When I look at the last game, it gives me some optimism that we can turn it around, and once more punt the riders on the back-to-back.

When I look at the previous month and the games most of this year, though, it gives me cause for concern.

I think, as it often has, the roster makeup will be a strong indicator. If we get Lawson Jr. off for Houston/Dandy, get Woods on somehow, and get a serious boost to the WR somehow, it will be a great sign we are going to move in the right direction.

Our DBs as is, with the heavy rotation of the 3 NI DTs over all imps, I don't think our D could hold up to the riders' O. And with out a much improved WR core, I don't think our O has a chance at keeping up with the riders O.

got his bell rung...hurt his ankle...we need to bring the heat, and he will be done like dinner

That has always been key against Harris. He gets rattled easily when hit.

That, with Demski being OK, would be gigantic. But boy, is all that a reach to happen on short notice.
