Manitoba Politics

Seeing as we'll be having a provincial election this year, I think this thread will have no problem standing on its own and separate from the Canadian Politics thread.  Throw your civic/municipal stuff in here as well.

Further proof that there is no homogenous attitude towards Wab among First Nations.

Also sounds like you are actively working against Wab, so I don't know how unbiased your opinion is.

Actually, I have a pretty good idea....

There is a general feeling of dislike for Wab amongst both First Nation people, and particularly by most of the leadership. I am actively working against Wab? Nope...not actively doing anything...just in the know about it and I can tell you it's BIG, there is proof, and it will involve more than one person laying the accusation. It will be throwing a stick of dynamite into the campaign in October.

If it was really important or mattered, people should bring that forward now.  Otherwise, it's a political stunt.

It's not a political stunt, but it is going to be brought forward at a time to maximize damage to Wab. It will sewer Wab, Nahanni, and the person bringing forth the information as well. It's akin to a suicide bombing (politically) and I really don't understand why this person is so determined to do it but they are.

Wab needs to wear his history. He has remained pretty unscathed by it so far. Despicable actions and I don't care how long ago they were or how he has "reformed" his temper. He has never shown an ounce of contrition for what should be a crime that garners automatic jail time. I have no respect whatsoever for that man.

Wab very clearly pulled Khan back into a conversation he was trying to disengage from.  I didn't see any shove in the video, but not allowing another person to disengage by use of force is called assault.

At worst, what you described and is shown in the video might be battery (unwanted touching). The PC party is infested with lawyers and if there was even a shred of actionable evidence, you bet your bippy they would have called the police.

If that was assault, no one would ever leave a business meeting without being charged.

If it’s so big then why don’t you just spill the details now? You have the forum here.

Is it this?  (from reddit):

I saw Wab Kinew at a grocery store in Osbourne yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a ****** and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Well there you have it. Case closed. Thanks MilesBeforeSmiles.

And what happens with this great social media of ours is I'll take this story posted by MilesBeforeSmiles, replace the name Wab Kinew with the name @Wideleft, maybe change a few words (or not), and post it somewhere else. Job done.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Or it could be this: (also from reddit)

I always tell people Wab Kinew once pushed me in No Frills but I feel like I should clarify. It was a Wednesday—the Lord’s day—and I had a hankering for the holiest of gourds: the spaghetti squash. I perused the produce aisle with only one thing on my mind when lo and behold Wab appeared before me, holding what would turn out to be the last spaghetti squash. He caught me looking covetously at his prize and his demeanour immediately shifted darkly. Before I knew it, I was lying face first in the discounted kale, unsure of what happened. Upon reviewing the security footage with the store manager, it seems that Wab was never there, but apparently neither was I. The mystery of this phantom memory has haunted me for years, and my story likely serves as a means for my mind to cope with whatever trauma I experienced that day. I hope that clarifies things…. but please do not let this extensive clarification distract you from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer’s table.

The accusations are not BS. Not at all. I know the woman, I know her family, and I know many who at one time called them (Wab and the victim) both friends. Not a single one has any doubt as to what happened.

I saw Wab very clearly refuse to let Obby go when he tried to walk away. It wasn't a push but still unacceptable. Not really a lie, but an exaggeration imo.

I worded that poorly. I meant the accusations by Obby that he was shoved and shaken by the exchange. I was willing to wait until there was further evidence, but this video is conclusive that there was no shove of any kind. Calling it assault for being pulled back in for another word is laughable.

My take is that Obby fabricated a violent encounter from a heated exchange to play to the racism that exist in his party's supporters and to dog whistle about the past accusations on Wab. Obby should be above that and should be smart enough the assume there would be proof to catch his fib.

Complete fabrication. I mean, who the hell likes Milky Ways?

The thought of 15 of them is an absolute punch in the stomach.

The longer I wait for GC’s “bombshell” news that will destroy Wab, but that he refuses to post, the more I think it’s going to sound something like this:

talking-who-saw-ferris-pass-out-at31flav

But even more annoying saying hey but I’m just neutral this is their beef not mine.

Again I really dislike the internet for these exact purposes as we all hide behind our keyboards as I contradict myself in simply posting this thought.

My logical inside voice is yelling then stay off the internet stupid.

Hey it's just another viewpoint. Don't be so divisive. Can't we all just get along.

I don't allow my kids to get an education, so your kids better not either.

that was a really interesting piece, and totally unsurprising, of course. The Christians are angry about perceived "pornography" and introducing kids to things they'd rather them not see. Well, what about Christian literature available in the library? There are many who would rather their children not see that kind of perceived propaganda, so let's protest and have that stuff removed. I really feel for the librarians just trying to do their jobs.

And yet, these same jackholes are perfectly fine with the Bible in schools, even though it condones slavery, incest, genocide, human sacrifice and even has literary porn in it.
