I'm starting this thread as a side discussion of all things Corona Virus related. I understand that this is going to be discussed in almost all other topic threads but we could collect news and other items here. 

 

At work, many conferences have been cancelled.

NBA - Suspended.

NHL - About to be suspended. 

NCAA March Madness - Playing - no crowd. 

 

Political Rallies have been cancelled. 

Travel bans. 

 

Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks tested positive. They're in Australia where testing is available. If they were in the US, they wouldn't have been tested. 

If the intellectually challenged can still post here can we at least get an eye roll emoji ?

Roy Horn had been in failing health for years ever since he was injured by one of his Big Cats.  The story said he suffered a stroke onstage with the Tiger the night he was attacked. I'm  sure Covid 19 just hastened the process.  He would have been in the high risk category.

I would bet that the people around Trump, Pence and Ivanka have been forbidden to wear masks as it might make Trump's narrative of "no big deal" look bad

There is an outbreak at the main Canada Post facility in downtown Calgary. Six employees have tested positive for Covid 19. How long until CUPE wants it shut down which would mean mail disruption across the country.

Do you not think they should shut down a place when there's an outbreak? Do you think people should be forced to work when sick and infectious to everyone around them?

But seriously, mail is pretty essential still. So it isn't as cut and dried as just close it down.

So much "mail" is electronic now that the postal service is almost irrelevant. Still, a lot of people who are not computer literate or do not have a computer and rely on Canada Post.

Most businesses still send bills in the mail, plenty of cheques too.

If it wasnt for the packages CP could easily be cut down to 3 days a week snail mail at a minimum.

Packages and mail are sorted by different groups.  It is the flyers that if they were removed would allow for them to work at a reduced schedule.   Unfortunately since CP went to a crown corporation many years back... they need that flyer money big time.

Not a chance. Canada Post's volumes are sufficiently high enough to warrant a 5-day per week schedule, especially with the rise in online shopping thanks to Amazon, eBay, Rakuten, etc.

 

Dr. Fauci heading for modified self quarantine, everything is perfect folks, also CDC director Redfield full quarantine.

  No one said they should work if there's an outbreak.  AHS would close it down.

The only way is massive cheating and/or the pandemic flaring up that keeps masses of people from voting.   In a fair fight they lose.  Easily.

Trump sure is the Teflon Don. Everyone around him is getting sick but him.
