Not only that, they haven't even given up a point all season long!!!

Overall stats not that pretty......but they get the job done.

The CFL has relied on owners like Braley and Young, along with the community based teams forever. To be an owner of a CFL team, you need to willing to lose money sometimes and reinvest any surpluses back into the club.

You must love the CFL or you won't last. Braley loved the CFL.

It would have been interesting to have a sit down with D. Braley and discuss his passion for the CFL game and the reasons he did what he did. It’s such a “CFL” kind of story and I would have loved to be in on it.

Agreed, his passion for CFL supported two teams and enriched every fan's CFL experience.

He will be missed.

3 teams...bailed out the TiCats after Ballard died, as well. The man was a known ******* within the BOG, but there's no question he absolutely LOVED the CFL...

I read a thing today (Naylor, maybe?) where, apparently, the Lions were about to fold, and CBC (the CFLs only broadcaster) was apparently going to stop broadcasting if there was no team in BC, so someone from the government went to Braley and told him about it, and that's how he jumped in to help them out the first time....

Wow much as I am not a fan of how he ran his teams that's a big loss for the CFL.

Sad to hear. Yeah, he loved the CFL for sure. It'll be interesting to see what happens to the

 Lions now.

Apparently one of his last wishes, after he realized he was dying, was to make sure there was a smooth transition of ownership of the Lions. I think it was Lalacheur or someone that said it. Said they'll be working with the estate to make sure that everything goes smoothly.

question is, y'all got any more of them rich folks willing to lose money on a CFL team?

Sounded like there were various offers over the last few years, but Braley didn't think he was getting a fair deal, so he wouldn't let go. I'm not sure what the new owners will be like, but I'd bet we see a new, local owner in BC pretty quickly.

I doubt anyone is buying the Lions right away. Too many questions right now. We don't even know if we'll have a season next year.

Was this week the Bye week last year, before we went on that Magical tear for the Grey Cup....?

I am going to rewatch each of those games on their corresponding anniversary. :D

Damn, I miss Bomber football.

I think I've watched every win from last year at least a half dozen times so far. I'm glad I have them on the PVR, but at the same time it's really depressing. I love CFL football so much more than any other sport...

Nice to see the Argos embracing their heritage.

Worth a look I would think.

I never tire of this gif. It is one of those rare things in life that bring joy every time you see it; Like re-watching the Bombers win the first ever game in New Mosaic.

Sure it makes sense for the nucks to buy them, its pennies to them any way.

I wonder if it makes more sense though to move the lions to the other side of the fraser river(or to burnaby or the coq). I dont feel like any thing can make the lions draw decent crowds in VC.

Nucks owners have said they are not interested in buying the Lions at this time....

Current Toronto Argonauts linebacker Jeff Knox Jr. is allegedly a wanted man in his hometown of Pittsburgh. According to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter Lauren Lee, Knox Jr. has been charged with multiple criminal offences.

Police obtained an arrest warrant Friday for Jeffrey Ali Knox Jr., 28, in connection to a shooting on Oct. 23. He is being charged with two counts of attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, possession and a firearms violation.

Whoa attempted murder....  nice to see the Riders employing quality people.
