Around The NHL 2018/2019

Well it’s Canada Day! Hopefully the last post in this thread is the Jets hoisting the Cup.   Enjoy the frenzy!

I'm not so sure about our depth at Centre this year...  its a big step for Roslo and if he doesn't pan out, then you're breaking up the Copp-Lowry combo

The team did just fine last season and they're all a year ahead. I stand by my statement.

Doan's only real legacy was he played a long time (21 seasons).  He didn't even average 20 goals a season.  He was a grinder to me.

If you can play 21 seasons for one team you should get your number retired.

So if Little plays out his contract with the Jets he should have his number retired ?  Nearly identical stats to Doan in regards to point totals....

He probably should. Hes actually quite underrated.

I'm more in the camp of retiring numbers for guys who excelled big time rather then simply playing for the club for a long time.

Turned down opportunities to go to a contender where he could win a Cup. He was a good hockey player but maybe a little too comfortable in Phoenix.

Doan was also the captain of the Coyotes for 14 seasons and the face of the franchise.  Thats a huge component as to what he meant to that franchise over Little with the Jets.

Little was 1C for a lot of years with this franchise...  at least hang his jersey from the rafters...

From everything I read Mark Stuart was a real good guy off the ice,  big time community guy.   Good for him !

Sure. But... Him and his wife live here year round so... Its nice to see. That move to WPG was truly life changing for Stuuuuu

Love Stu. Happy to see him get a job with the organization.

I'm not surprised about Niku

Thought I'd gift 17to85 this little tidbit:

Anaheim Ducks coach Randy Carlyle
Losing Corey Perry for five months makes for some tough sledding out of the gate, but eyebrows were already raised on Carlyle 2.0 in Anaheim after a meek first-round sweep at the teeth of the Sharks. A fresh voice is waiting in the wings in San Diego in Dallas Eakins. Frank Seravalli

Love those old Whalers unis. Wish the club would move back to Hartford. Carolina sucks as a market.

No way that happens. That region is too saturated. I do agree that NC is a horrible market for hockey, though.

What about Les Balenes... instead
