Just watching some TV last night and 2 shows had a CFL game on in the background.

Macguyver needed to steal a dish for one of his inventions and the guy was watching an Argos and Alouettes game. Ricky Ray was just about to take a shotgun snap when the dish was pulled off.

Hawaii 50

A flashback to Lou Grover in a bar in Chicago had an Argo game in the bar. Had to rewind but seen Chad Kackert on the screen. 

Pretty random that 2 seperate shows had the CFL on in the states.

Well, exciting. 

Lots of TV uses CFL as it would be too expensive to get NFL footage.

The league often used CFL footage as well.

In other news, someone actually watches MacGyver and Hawaii 5-0.....

The CFL needs to cash in on this video bonanza. 

I quite like MacGyver (the show that is).

MacGyver went off the air in 1992 and Ricky Ray didn't start playing in the CFL until ten years later!  Impossible!

I would guess that both those shows were being filmed in Toronto...

and Taco seemed to always draft a few CFL players into his NFL Fantasy team every year too, including Joffrey Reynolds.  The actor who played Taco was a Canadian, not sure if that was a coincidence.

It's been re-cast. In season 2 or 3 now. I prefer  the original actor, but his side kick friend on the new show is a good balance. Anyways, its one of the shows I try to watch weekly.

And there was this rather racy movie being filmed in Alabama and when the locals heard of all the nudity, they showed up on set and started booing and throwing rocks at the actors. Fortunately, the local minister showed up, stood in front of the crowd and picked up one of  the projectiles saying. "Let those among you who have never sinned stone the cast first."

You can tell because the CFL camel is longer and wider.

Bud Grant made onto network TV during the Vikings game.  They showed him at the freezing cold outside game in a short sleeved shirt (from a couple of years ago).

they also showed him in the crowd with a beard and a camo hat on.  Apparently he still goes hunting at 90 years old.  I wish when they show him and go on about his coaching history they'd mention his success north of the border, but that would require admitting that Canada exists, a no-no on US broadcasts.
