Bomber Moves 2018

Sorry but I don't like the total silence coming out of Bomberville, but that's just me; I like action and news  like all of you.  Yes we've extended a contract or two and we are distributing the year-end money before the 2018 salary cap  comes in.

But what are the deep thinkers in our organization planning to do?

I hope they are not thinking status quo; that never seems to work out well. Unless we are dedicated to making sharp improvements here and there, I believe we atrophy from last year.

After the 2017 NFL cuts were made did we bring in any linebackers for a sniff? I saw other prospects up here but maybe I missed something.

We have got to fix what's broken and I think somehow management must know more than we do ... we are good prognosticators with our comments on this site but I would like management to show us up.

We are not hearing a lot of news out of the Calgary and Edmonton football clubs so maybe our Blue Bombers are an elite club now (as we join those two in their silence).

But man I hate twiddling my thumbs as I wait to see what our local gurus are going to do. No news is bad news, say the bored ...  Well at least were not coming off seasons like Ottawa Hamilton and Montréal had.

So maybe I should be grateful for our club and its management.

Say what you will about Mike O'Shea but no one can ever overstate how valuable he has been in turning around the perception and culture of this franchise.

  • TSN1290 reporting that SK offered the most money, but he chose Winnipeg.

I was talking to Mike. Not you. Besides, I wasn't arguing either. How can I be arguing when I've made maybe a half dozen posts the past 2 weeks? I barely come here anymore. Is it May yet?

Not unless your are either the PM of England or the leader of the Green party.

Maybe. I could see him being an assistant to hall though.

I hope that he could step in and replace Hall should the defence perform as it did last year.  I still see Hall as the Bomber defence's biggest liability, and in this I assume that the MLB position is upgraded significantly.

mhm. very much the situation i could see. itll be interesting to see.

foreman sounds like our prototypical db. a fogg clone. Speed to burn, made a bunch of plays but has some questions.  lot of pass KDs, love seeing that.

Bombers add 2 imp wrs.

Jerome lane. Interesting story and body type. Real big strong guy. Started out as a S/lb, itd be pretty awesome if he was a good kick cover guy as well as wr.

Dominique reed is also interesting but the opposite. Another tall guy listed 6'3 but listed a shade under 180. Did some kick returning too. Blew up his pro day 4.39 40" vert 10'4 broad jump 4.50 shuttle and 6.82 3 cone. 6 reps on the bench press. but if hes 180 that isnt bad.

Jerome Lane reminds me of Derel Walker the way he plays

Like the tall receivers...  blue bomber roster looking pretty good pre-draft...  like the competition this year - esp if one or two of these DB prospects are competing for WIL

suddenly we got 3-4 new tall intl receivers coming in that looks promising

Washington, Lane, Reed and Stevens.

feels weird though, hope none of ourbig 3 is retiring ?

Was there a special on tall receivers down south this week? This does not bode well for our current lot of receivers, even though these may be training camp fodder.

Didn't Dressler just sign a 1 year contract late last fall? Doubt he retires (maybe after 2018 season but not before). We could always use a couple of guys in our system when injuries happen.

Isn’t the April mini camp coming up? Teams do this, sign guys to look at them at the mini camp and then decide if they survive  to rookie or main TC.

Also can put guys on PR or IR also... I'd imagine they will keep around 1 or 2 maybe 3 of these guys and let them develop for a bit.

We can be super unfortunate too and have a rash of injury trouble and 6 game 15 to 20 to keep around ala Sask.....

i dont think these guys are TCF, tcf imps is kind of a thing of the past imo. These guys have some legit up side. Huge athletic, some very productive in college. More of a flyer low risk high reward move with some of em that didnt play a lot in college.

Didnt Deron Mayo just resigned with Stamps during FA and now he just retired?

We've loaded up with stars and then are going to trade Dressler back to the Riders for 2 first round draft picks. :)
