Yeah not surprisingly Lapolice is going to be getting phone calls asking if he wants to become MTL's head coach.  It is a badge of honor and it's not unexpected the way he's done a fantastic job with our offense.  But I would turn down any HC job at the Als because

1. Bob Wettenhall has officially become the worst CFL owner worse than Bernie Glieberman. Oh yes he is that bad.  He hires tools like Kavis Reed and Joe Mack to run his front office and they have no clue how to do it.  Reed would be sitting at home getting fat on his couch if it wasn't for Wettenhall's ineptitude.

2. MTL never lets HCs pick and hire their own staff like the other good teams do.

3. The CFL is working on an expansion for adding one more team to the east and there will be a HC opening there.  Oh and the BC Lions job also will be open next year and their owner isn't a meddling know-nothing like Bob Glieberman Wettenhall.

manny would be a huge pick up for us. 

Coaching in  Montreal with Kavis as your GM doesn't seem super appealing unless Lapo has designs on being a GM.

I would imagine this doesnt preclude him accepting an upward offer though...?  Can we suggest Montreal hire Hall as Head Coach?

That is a common caveat of subordinate coaches' contracts.

MOS on Lapo's mid-season extension...

Based on those remarks, and sort of expecting Lapo to be a pretty genuine guy, I'd expect his full expectation and desire is to see his stint here to its conclusion.  I'd suspect he'd feel really empty if he left without winning, even if it was a promotion.  I think he stays.  Saying that, its like me saying I intend to keep my job til I retire but if I win LottoMax, plans change.

Common sense indicates he will be here unconditionally. He signed an extension mid-season, if he wanted to explore opportunities, he just would've let his deal run out 

Lapos wife is from Selkirk so you can make the safe bet that he will stay here cuz she wants to stay here lol.

And in the end it would Be Walter's decision if we would even allow him to listen to offers anyway...and I would bet he would say no anyway.

It's imperative I think to keep most things intact and continuity to keep building...it's not like we would be building on failure playoff loss aside.

And incorporating 2 new coordinators next season at same time would be taking steps back and no way would we match or better this years record

yeah it will work when a team totally stopped playing for their coaches like in Hamilton...and from 0-8 you have nowhere to go but up...different situation totally. it was very obvious that team stopped playing by the 5th or 6th game of season

Yeah, not making the playoffs in the Limpdick East is definitely a good sign.

Just goes to show that it's not always scheme or system that sometimes, it's the players.

No Eastern club had a better record than Hamilton after the coaching change. They were good enough to kick our asses.

Uh, the Argonauts posted the exact same record over that period of time (6-4). And the Bombers kicked their asses back in August. What does any of that have to do with them not making the playoffs?
