Interesting choices. Not sure i agree with the Reilly stuff... Guy hasnt been that good... Lots of these names here seem to be based on recognition and not actual ability... Drake Nevis has been a monster but not 1 vote... Loffler hasnt been that great but gets votes... Darvin Adams extremely underrated as is Randle.   No leggett? Yup... Cant take serious.

I haven't watched our Oline that closely this year but seems like they are letting in more pressure then they did towards the end of last year, at least it seems that way to me.

excluding the Oline, I would name the following to all stars; Nichols, Harris, Adams, Randle, Heath, Loffler, Leggett, Westerman. Thomas and of course Medlock

Dunno about Adams, Loffler and Westerman.....Thomas is a bit of a stretch, too.....Medlock having a down year, especially by his standards....

I should have said west all-stars,  might be a little tougher for some of they guys to crack CFL all star.

Adams is currently 5th in receiving in the league, so if it were just West I think he gets a nod.  Loffler is already at 40 tackles, westerman is tied for 2nd in the league with 6 sacks (1 behind current leader Butler) and thomas for a rotational player, has 3 sacks, 1 int and 11 tackles which isn't mind blowing but for 9 games and again rotational that's pretty good numbers

I don't think so, I think what it is, is that a lot of the times when pressure does come Nichols eats the ball and doesn't get away or throw it away. Maybe more sacks on similar pressures.

I know there have been a lot of times this season where Nichols held onto the ball too long and took a sack. I dunno if he was just hanging too long or waiting for a play to open up that wasn't there or what, but maybe quicker decisions throwing it away would lead to less sacks. As long as there are no turnovers though it's all good.

obvious complaints about this list... why does ACTUAL position not matter when they decide these all-stars?... a few of these guys have 3 middle LBs on their list...

LB is the most obvious one where it should be a WIL, MIKE, and SAM LB... not just 3 LBs... but it also applies to O-line, left side vs right side...

I understand these lists are for fun and conversation... but I honestly question how many of these writers know the difference between all the different positions...

They don't watch the games, they're simply going by reputations and the cfl stats page.

Like every analysis they do.

Ciante Evans at both CB and HB, these guys must also vote for NHL all stars

I'm sure they did that with Leggett, either last season or the season before. Different voters had him at three different positions.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers
7-2 (2nd in West)

What’s worked

The evolution many Bombers fans were hoping to see from Matt Nichols has come to fruition. Nichols is efficient and knows when to take a risk.

Most of that success is dictated by Nichols’ surroundings. He has the best offensive line in the CFL right now, Paul LaPolice is using tempo to wear down defences and Andrew Harris is having a special year

One last thing, the fans at Investors Group Field have been incredible this year.

BOMBERS QUARTERBACK MATT NICHOLS HAS NOT SHIED AWAY FROM HIS BREAKOUT 2016 PERFORMANCE (THE CANADIAN PRESS)

What needs fixing

The Bombers need more from their young players, specifically their young Canadians. Julian Feoli Gudino and Taylor Loffler have been bright spots but the Bombers are not consistently deploying any players from their 2017 draft class and need to develop some national talent while winning now in order to promise future success.

Possible award nominees

Most Outstanding Canadian: Andrew Harris or Taylor Loffler
Most Outstanding Player: Andrew Harris or T.J. Heath
Most Outstanding Special Teams Player: Justin Medlock or Kyle Knox
Most Outstanding Rookie: Brian Walker or Cory Johnson
