Flying High into Montréal: Bombers vs. Als

Montreal is on the wrong end of two signature games: (1) Winnipeg proving that Edmonton was not the best team in the league (2) Trestman & Ricky Ray showing who is the best team in the east [at least as the crow flies right now].

So do the Alouettes have a chance?

Barring catastrophe (in the form of injury surprises) they neither have a chance nor clue.

Perhaps that's too much bravado but we haven't had bravado in a very long time.

  • The fact that Ekakatie isn't ready yet is just fine by me. The days of needing first year players to step in right away are gone. Let him cook on the PR for awhile along with Couture and Spooner, and

#Als' MLB Dominique Tovell is under concussion protocol, according to head coach Jacques Chapdelaine. Anthony Sarao makes his #CFL debut

That's a big loss on paper but wasn't Sarao the reason they dumped Bear Woods?

Hope they are ready to tackle. Durant doesnt scare me...they put up almost 200 yards on the groumd against the blue last time. Gotta stop the run outside.

The deal is for the Bombers to keep their altitude.....just cruise to Hamilton, and open the bombay doors.

I thought you were a Tanqueray fan?

I enjoy each game now and seeing how this team performs.

I no longer really worry about needing to win this game or that game . No longer worry about any one bad game.

Labour Day is coming up but I don't really care about it. More interested in this game Thursday.

It is fun times to go into every game expecting a W!

Ok. I'll bite.  W here?

Yeah I didn't mean the location or anything like that, sorry for the confusion.

That would imply that they don't have an American backup defensive back on the roster.  I think that would be very risky.

I'd rather see Jones play than Roc at this point, but if Loffler is out I guess our hands are tied.

where is Walker?

Interesting depth chart.

Fogg and Alexander start in the secondary.  Loffler still in the lineup.  Jake Thomas listed as a starter at DT.  JFG will play.  Okpalaugo backs up Jeffcoat at DE.

damn yeah i just saw Baumings tweet he's on the 1 game. Hopefully he's back for the LDC.

Very interesting about Thomas "starting" and Poop backing up Nevis. Loffler starting despite not having practiced this week. I would be surprised to see him have as many reps as normal back there. Might see him split time with Derek Jones. Wild apparently back on the 6-gamer for a second stint....shame.

It looks like they're starting 8 Canadians to keep their options open - looks like guys are more banged up than they're letting on.

I don't really think it's any different - they're not increasing their flexibility at all by doing this. They rotate Hurl and Thomas anyways.

I think Okpalaugo is a scratch though (or Carmichael but that'd be thin at DB) with Foketi.

I've been thinking for a while that they may increase the reps for Thomas and maybe decrease for Hurl - be interesting to see how that plays out.

Who is Hurl rotating with?  He seems to be out there for every play either at MLB or WIL.  It certainly hasn't been the case of Hurl "or" Thomas,  they're on the field together plenty of times.

Really curious to see those gameday  scratches tomorrow....

Me too - but it's gotta be either Roc or Okpalaugo. Can't be a Canadian, so Ekakitie will dress, which tells me it's probably TO, since I can't see them dressing 8 DL and 6 DB.

No closed practices this week = no practiced trick plays?

I've noticed he comes off in certain passing situations, when they add an extra DB. Thomas being on the field is what allows them to do that.

Could be, I've noticed their 3 man rush crew is Westerman, Corney and Jeffcoat so Corney is helping balance the ratio as well.

2 man should be Foketi and Okpalaugo

unless they will sit Poop Johnson and DI Okpalaugo which I dont like.

Santos-Knox wouldn't be missed.
