Game day thread: Montreal here

I am seeing today's game as a chance to put it all together, to start to build some momentum

Durant is a better QB than Nichols but they can both get the job done

I am expecting a lot of blitzing from Montreal but I think Lapo will have us ready to pick such apart

We might win the battle of the trenches today .... it's a matter of pride and time to step up .... and Ritchie Hall needs pressure on the QB to keep the cracks from showing up in the secondary ... it seems inevitable we are going to get beat deep a couple of times but we have to limit it to just that

How average  are our Canadians that we have starting today?

Loffler, Walker & Hurl

Chung, Goosen, JFG, Harris & Normand

I am not sure how much of an edge that is but I think it's a little bit. Our backups might be a bigger edge. How the injury bug goes may determine more than we realize.

I expect we will win because we want it more and our confidence is going to come to the forefront, finally.

Man TSN and the ALS put the W i their column.  Glad our guys didn't quit like they did.

very true

WHAT                  JUST                 HAPPENED?

Nice to be on this side of a 4th quarter come back for a change

ofcourse slimy climie thinks the late helmet to helmet hit on nichols wasnt a penalty. Clearly head to head. Shut the **** up slimy.

Promising that we can play so bad and win or be within a score like in BC.  Need to start playing well though.

I don't understand our offense. Over 40 points in 3 of 5 games, yet also with seemingly more 2 and outs than any other.

Ya that's a huge plus in my eyes. Gritty team wins like that are a huge sign of a contender team.

That was just a flat out crazy ending. I'll take it. Last week we couldn't close out a victory, this week we came back to ****** victory from defeat. Montreal was getting ready for the flight home before they figured out the game wasn't over.

There are a TON of things to work on but at least they're more tolerable after a win.

I hope this gets Nichols going. For most of this game I thought he was pretty poor. A lot of checkdowns with the rare nice throw. Several tosses in the dirt, especially on the move. Those checkdowns came in handy once Montreal's defense went into prevent at least.

The DL played well. What I can't figure out is why we play so much zone coverage despite clearly succeeding more in man. It doesn't matter what sort of pressure we're getting when we're in deep or soft zones all the time.  I think the amount of rookies and young players on the defense has really hurt us though.

Enjoy the win and figure out how to play more consistently. We'll be all right.

This is a very unrecognizable feeling..  I mean, did we just pull the biggest, fattest rabbit out of a hat?

And Medlock? Talk about pulling yourself together.

A tip of the hat to MOS. Not an ordinary kick to the sidelines like every other team, but a perfectly executed kick to the hash marks, and the rest was pure will. Nichols getting that far on a run...whoa. Enormous effort.

And, of course, Harris, who is a RUNNING BACK...

It's a nice win, and we should all enjoy that because wins like this when the defense gives up 40 points are usually pretty rare. Especially when running a Lapo offence that has trouble stretching the field and putting up a lot of points.

Some of the trends in this game are worrisome. The D better lock it down (at least better than 500+ yards offence against). Hopefully they will when they get some starters back.

Montreal had 531 yards of offense. Sweet lord. This from the lowest scoring team in the league. D needs to be much much better than that.

Its Hall. Strong DLine. Good DBs.. A couple elite ones.. Good 2 linebackers when healthy. Its the scheme. Its hall. Its soft zone.

Be sure to send Christmas cards to the refs for this one

Did they win?

Great tweets coming out lol. Someone tweeted westwood and asked if he's been coaching Medlock lol. Messam tweeted "knee down?", someone with the CFL, chris edwards? tweeted back, "nope, looked at numerous angles and knee was never down".

Why? Was a pretty poor job on both sides of the ball. Refs were awful... Against both teams.

Yeah, saw you whining like crazy on your own site. By the way, it was a touchdown...

Go check out Chris Edwards TSN twitter. He says they looked at multiple angles and his knee was never down. He just tweeted Jerome Messam the same message.

Yes they do. Wins are all that matters.

So youre happy with the way the team played and just stay the course cause were going to keep pulling out wins like this every week? Right.....

Its still early so not playing our best and winning or staying close vs BC.. Good signs. Hopefully we start clicking soon.. Like they say right... Real season starts labour day weekend.
