No joke. IDR the last time our OL was this deep.  If it was up to me i might keep em all going into the season let them mash for a bit and see who rises to the top. Hate the thought of letting one go and that guy becoming a stud.

couture and goossen are still developmental guys. They are seasoned enough to have a more active role then say spooner, but they are only scratching at the surface of their potential. Similarly foketi is an imp ol whose got lots of up side left. Hes one of the more game ready guys but not a guy whose rounded out into his peak form or close to it yet imo. Spooner Is a longer term project. Not as long as intzandt would be though. That is a lot of OL whose best football is a year or maybe more down the road.

Surprised a bit Stafford was cut. But at the same time, he's a vet and a vet should stand out at least to some degree in TC and pre-season.

Gotta be some nice SMS savings with his release, too.

Stafford has a 2 year deal for $120,000 per year. So if his spot is now Lankford, Thorpe or Washington, you likely save $60,000.

We are pretty tight with sms this year so that savings could be a real butt saver later. Hurl isnt likely to go, but i could see newfie getting sacrificed to sms as well. (finally)

Would love to see the CFL publish salary info. Curious how close we and other clubs are to the top of the SMS.

Most of the major sports leagues do this. Might be a thing of some bad teams in tough financial circumstances being protected. If they are fringe for a play off spot mid way through the year and have a bunch of cap space but cant spend that it could crash a fan base. It would be nice to get to that point though where teams salaries were public info.

Seems they could have put Conteh on the 6 game  and opened another spot but I guess eventually he was going to end up on the PR.  Not happy they cut Butcher.
