Gov. Ron DeSantis ordered state entities to honor the late right-wing talk radio host when he is buried

one thing  Republicans all excel at is eating ****. world class. assuming desantis is hispanic,

"Limbaugh has also been disrespectful of prominent Latinas. When Sonia Sotomayor was nominated to the Supreme Court, he called her “a hack” and “a reverse racist.” Likening Sotomayor to a housekeeper, he joked about sending her “a bunch of vacuum cleaners.” When Dolores Huerta received the Medal of Freedom in 2012, Limbaugh slammed the labor icon as “a professed Marxist and a socialist.” More recently, when speaking about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, he pronounced her name with an exaggerated accent and dismissed her as “some young uppity.”"

uppity.... code word.

there is no insult too degrading for a Republican, if it comes from the right source.

so very manly.

Florida to fly flags at half-mast for Rush Limbaugh on Ron DeSantis' order.  Gov. Ron DeSantis ordered state entities to honor the late right-wing talk radio host when he is buried

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Friday at the Hilton Airport Palm Beach in West Palm Beach that he plans to lower flags at half-mast in honor of the now-deceased conservative radio titan Rush Limbaugh.

According to ABC's WTXL Tallahassee, flags across Florida have been ordered to be lowered when Limbaugh's funeral, the date of which has yet to publicly announced, occurs. Limbaugh, who died of lung cancer at age 70, left behind a $50 million estate in Palm Beach Florida and taped his show just one mile away.

"What we do when there's things of this magnitude," DeSantis said, lamenting Limbaugh's death, "once the date of internment for Rush is announced, we're going to be lowering the flags to half-staff." The pronouncement was met with applause from a mostly maskless audience.

But not for John Lewis, or Covid victims, or whatever.    Trump wannabe.

Republican party descent to full stupidity... I know they represent many people, but hopefully, its time is over. dragging down  the planet.

"Pennsylvania Republicans have selected a woman who turned an old house into a “shrine” to former President Donald Trump and believes the 2020 election was stolen as the GOP nominee for an open state legislative seat.

Leslie Baum Rossi was selected Saturday by GOP county officials as their nominee in a May 18 special election for the 59th District State House seat,  is located outside of Pittsburgh. In 2016, Rossi painted a house red, white and blue and placed a 12-foot cutout of Trump in front of it. "

'The end of the road': NBC's Pete Williams says grand jury will see Trump's taxes 'almost immediately'

A Manhattan grand jury is expected to see former President Donald Trump's financial information "almost immediately" following the Supreme Court's refusal to halt the process.

In an action taken Monday, the Supreme Court said that it would not interfere with a case against Trump that is being pursued by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.

NBC justice correspondent Pete Williams told host Stephanie Ruhle that the grand jury would be able to see Trump's financial records "almost immediately."

"This is it," Williams said. "This is the end of the road for the [former] president's lawyers to appeal here. The accountants for the president have always said they will abide by whatever the courts say. And this has all be set to go -- sort of in the starting blocks."

"Vance agreed to hold off on any demands for these documents until the Supreme Court has handled this case," he added. "You can bet that that is already to go. All they have to do is turn the key. Those demands will go to the accountants. The accountants are ready to turn it over. So I suspect that this will be a matter of days."

Williams pointed out that the work of the grand jury "seems to be growing" because new forensic accountants were recently brought on to the case.

"The topics they're looking at seems to growing as well," the NBC correspondent said. "We know that it's expanded beyond the statements -- remember the genesis of all this. It was Michael Cohen's testimony before the Senate that the president wasn't truthful in stating his assets, that sometimes he would overstate them when he was trying to get loans and sometimes he would understate them when he was trying to avoid taxes."

"And then the hush money payments," Williams continued. "But it's gone beyond that. It's gone beyond those payments. It's gone beyond that treatment. It's looking at a much broader look at the Trump Organization."

George Clooney To Produce Docuseries On Athlete Sex Abuse Where Jim Jordan Coached

Actor George Clooney is producing a docuseries about decades of reported sexual abuse of athletes at Ohio State University, where Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) was once an assistant coach of the wrestling team.

The series will be based on a Sports Illustrated article by writer Jon Wertheim last year addressing the allegations against the late Ohio State sports doctor Richard Strauss — and officials’ lack of response.

The university said in its annual crime report in 2019 that Strauss committed at least 1,429 sexual assaults and 47 rapes during his 20-year tenure. Strauss was never charged and died by suicide in 2005.

The docuseries can’t be welcome news for Jordan, who was the assistant coach of the wrestling team at Ohio State from 1987 to 1995. At least three athletes and a referee have alleged they discussed the abuse directly with Jordan, but that he took no action to stop it. Jordan has denied he was told of any abuse or knew of it.

One of the victims in the Sports Illustrated story alleged Jordan knowingly ignored Strauss’ abuse.

A one-time captain on Jordan’s team said in an interview with MSNBC’s Joy Reid last year that the scandal is only “going to get worse” for Jordan.

dolt. Eric Trump. Fox .

“I think every single day, Biden makes people miss Donald Trump more,” said Mr Trump. “When you see some of these policies that are literally destroying jobs, that are destroying industries, that are causing Texas to freeze, that are cutting off our power to our energy grids and all these other nonsensical policies.”

Sadly, it is not most stupid thing he or his siblings have said.

The US house and senate have work environments where one has guaranteed time with a very large audience to professionally spew half baked theories, blatant lies, misinformation, skewed half truths, slander etc etc etc to sow doubt and distract from the real issues.  The cherry on top is this comes with absolutely no real resistance/countering nor consequential accountability for these types of behavior outside of pearl clutching and social media shaming.

It's maddening.

example 2007 financial fraud world economic collapse:

" Only one banker in the United States served jail time as a result of the crisis, Kareem Serageldin, a banker at Credit Suisse who was sentenced to 30 months in jail and returned $25.6 million in compensation for manipulating bond prices to hide $1 billion of losses.[53][50] No individuals in the United Kingdom were convicted as a result of the crisis.[54][55] Goldman Sachs paid $550 million to settle fraud charges after allegedly anticipating the crisis and selling toxic investments to its clients.[56]"
