US Politics

Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Do respect this one though:

Quote

Lesley Stahl: Are you gonna take the salary, the president’s salary?

Donald Trump: Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no. I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.

Donald Trump: Do you know what the salary is?

Lesley Stahl: $400,000 you’re giving up.

Donald Trump: No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.

Can you spell hypocrite? Oh yeah!  G r a h a m.    His words:

Sen. Lindsay Graham, chairman of the judiciary committee, says he will support President Trump "in any effort to move forward" to fill Justice Ginsburg's place on the Supreme Court

Defectors’ vote?

Among the senators to watch are Republicans Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah and others.

Bullshit. They make a lot of noise about stuff like this and then fall in line like the good little Republicans they are. People need to stop listening to what they say and looking at what they do.

I am not so sure about letting your opponents in on your plan is a good thing:

Sure, it might seem like a good idea to threaten with this... but if I were an evil **** like McConnell, I would do exactly what Schumer is threatening to do here right after the elections- expand the SC and pack the it with right wing extremists.

That Trump deposition on Mother Jones is freaking gold.

So much for the argument that Trump was wacky to renegotiate nafta on the precipice of Canada being a national security threat.

What a lost and pathetic country. The facade that there is any freedom or good governance has been torn away. All that's left is a racist, fascist country. I hope that poison doesn't spread too far into Canada.

What a complete knob.

Let's add fear-mongering as Trump starts to grasp at the rope that's unravelling.

“Let’s just get this into court. I’m dying to get this into court. I look forward to a long trial. I so look forward to it”

Says the guy who then settled all 3 suits for $25 million in payouts, so he could not have to claim liability - after a trial in court

I wish during the name game part the lawyer just dropped on a name like “Eric” and let Trump say “same answer” and then finish with “Trump - wait, you don’t know your own son’s name because it was too long ago?”

A reminder that the Trumps are not allowed near any charities because they have stolen from their own. White supremacists love stealing from charities.
