US Politics

Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Do respect this one though:

Quote

Lesley Stahl: Are you gonna take the salary, the president’s salary?

Donald Trump: Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no. I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.

Donald Trump: Do you know what the salary is?

Lesley Stahl: $400,000 you’re giving up.

Donald Trump: No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.

Problematic for Stone to be pardoned by Trump.  As a private citizen, Stone can be subpoenaed from all corners.   But ole Rodger has been loyal.  Which begs the question - has the Medal of Freedom even been awarded to a convicted felon?

hey everyone all the Dem candidates' hip-hop records just dropped, check em out:

also some twitter hero got all the candidates on the record about the question that matters.  💕 for Warren's answer.

Ted Cruz belittling AOC on twitter and she claps back.   You can disagree wirh AOC’s politics but she’s formidable and impressive.  Big future for her.

Also seems to be the alt rights thing to do to belittle people and reduce and accomplished woman down to “just a bartender”.

Well trump is having another presser on the corona virus.  Needs a do over. Lol.

Cruz is a snivelling piece of toilet paper, not even man enough to stand up for his wife, as for Trump I look forward to all hailing his efforts and blaming the Democrats blah blah blah before he heads out to one of his properties for a bit of golf.

Oh boy, I hope he does. Used to like him... then he became smarmy and snarky. And his slightly smaller **** sandwich with guacamole approach to healthcare for all.

Who is Bloomberg going to throw his money at, people say Biden, also how far ahead in delegates will Sanders be after super Tuesday.

Don't forget Steyer's money.

Maybe not that far.  Mayor Pete out.  And now

It’s Biden, Sanders or Warren.  Warren May play kingmaker.

Buttigieg and Klobuchar will waste no time endorsing Biden, as the stop Bernie movement moves on to another level. Obama's phone rings off the hook, with calls for him to endorse Sleepy Joe, as well.............

Dems want to win. Can’t blame them.  It’s atop trump at all costs.  Obama won’t endorse yet which he shouldn’t.  He will endorse whomever the nominee is or if he needs to step in and prevent a civil war from destroying things.

Old Man Biden versus Old Man Sanders. What a shame we're here.

Yup, nothing but crickets from Obama, so far....

Which is exactly what you want.

Obama is being incredibly statesmanlike.  A true party leader.

If Biden winds up with the nomination then it's a full on republican dictatorship for the united states.

He’s the guy that polls the best against trump.  Bernie won’t win against trump.  It’s not about which policies you like the best.  It’s who can win. Bernie can’t. Or at least seems unlikely to.

Id rather it be Warren. But Biden is better than Bernie.

Biden-Warren?

I'm pretty sure it will be Biden-Harris and most people will be happy with that.  I also don't expect Biden to seek a second term.

"Biden can barely complete a sentence. Voted for the Iraq war and continues to lie about it. Had to flee new hampshire on the day of the primary because he did so poorly.Claims Putin is running the US government.

The Dem establishment is absolutely nuts"

You certainly need some feisty out of the VP slot with Biden.  A sop to the progressive wing is also required.   Harris is not a bad fit.
Besides, just about nothing triggers Trump... like a woman who speaks her mind.

He did give thumbs up to ex-NY mayor

Pretty sure Sanders like 4 years ago rates highest again Trump compared to others.

Surprised Klo not support Warren.

I've seen polls showing bernie polls best vs. Trump.

Biden is a worse candidate than hillary. Mark my words if the Democrats insist on trying to play the moderate hand it will backfire. The republicans are fighting a war, you need some extreme opposition. That's what the people want.
